You don’t need the kind of net I’m fixing to describe to you because you catch big ones. I used to go riding in a commercial fisherman named John back in the 70’s. He used to have a net dipped in tar and fairly shallow netting to get his fish in the boat manly because he was fishing for food and didn’t want to lift them in the boat and the tarred net kept the trot lines from getting tangled in the nylon net👍

Nice Blues Dave, time for the winter gear!! The upper Midwest and East Coast are getting feet of snow, when I came thru Nashville this morning it was in the high 30s, my terminal in Central Indiana saw 27 degrees with light snow!!! This sucks!!!!
If you're ever in central Georgia you should try Lake Sinclair, lots of good size cats in the lake. Just off my dock over the weekend in no time, a 34" FAT blue. Did not start catfishing until a couple of years ago and only do it from the dock, largest to date just over 42".

Man those rods are expensive, I checked out the site and they had them for $200. I have always loved meat hunter rods, but that’s up there. Thanks for putting them in action and letting us see them though Dave. 👍
Ray, I was thinking the same thing. About 6 months ago I was at a fishing show and they had a whole section with every Meat Hunter Rod available: size, color, etc…. I was able to get the exact model that I wanted for 60% of the online price. Plus I Love made in the USA products.
Hey Dave how you doing I fish from the bank in the Mississippi River and I have two 14 ft heavy action meet Hunter rods and I have two TLD 25s on them those are some rides for some big ass catfish as long as you can cast those tlds you're all right cuz they go way out there meet Hunter is a good rod
If you want a stiff rod check out the 8ft heavy Daiwa DX swimbait rod. I think it's exactly what you're looking for. You might even want the extra heavy. The sweet spot for the heavy is around 3oz's. I use it for soft swimbaits that take a big Owner Beast hook like a 10/0
I got a question Dave the same guy was winning the catfish tournaments at Poland creek around the spawn time and the blue cats he was bringing in were 60+ pounds and he would usually have 2 and neither 1 of them had any marked scrapes or scratches and they were super light almost gray. So my question to you does it sound like someone was cheating bringing fish in from probably a pond or maybe another lake. I don't fish the tournaments but I know a few people that do and I watch the weigh ins a lot so just curious what your thoughts are on this. Sorry message is so long hope to hear your thoughts
