I recently finished my re-read of the Hyperion series, the first book is one of my favorites! I haven’t read it since I was in high school, and it’s still impactful the second time around. Its super far future (compared to some of the books you’ve talked about in the past several months), but theres so many references to Earth’s history in it. Theres lots of mystery and timey wimey things going on, some horror elements (that are still horrific in today’s climate), and all of these things are used in a way that allows the characters to be really interesting. Of course theres lots of “technology and progress have taken over and we are questioning if its good or if humans created their own demise,” themes. I definitely think you would enjoy it! I have been putting off reading The Wheel of Time until I get over the idea that I should read a series consecutively. Its a big undertaking, but I don’t want to forget details of one book before I get to the next one. 😅

Check and see if you have any Salvation Army stores nearby. At mine I can get a paperback for a buck (or less if it's in bad shape), and a hardback or trade PB for $1.50 (Canadian). I actually have two here, and one of them has a buy ten for 4$ deal, but unfortunately it's closing soon. I've been shopping there the past couple years and my Library has expanded -alarmingly- delightfully! :).

We are actually reading the same things right now! I am 3 quarters done with Dresden 5 and I was also planning an Eye of The World read so I can watch the show. Haven't read of any of the titles here though but I've heard of them so I guess that counts 🤣

Had somewhat of book haul myself, with that exact book in wheel of time series. Personally I'm sticking with audio do to my in ability to sit still and read at this time.

Oh I'm also on book 5 of Dresden. Away to pick it up next week, and hoping its a lot better than book 4. I kinda binged the first half of Eye of the World last night because I couldn't sleep and this time I'm more excited to continue on with the rest. I really need to get round to Hyperion, as all I here is love for it. Fabulous video as always, and I love the jumper/hoodie
