I Got Google Banned From My School 

I always disliked the SafeSearch crap, but my school board crossed the line when they blocked CoolMathGames

I got an encyclopedia banned from my school, because 3 out of 400 some pages were about human preproduction, and when my classmate saw it while I was plipping through pages, they stopped my page turning, and started taking notes, which brought attention to us, and so the teacher banned the book.

Chip has really came a long way since 4 years ago. The art style is definitely noticably different from the newer videos. Great job chip.

Tip for Wikipedia: replace the "en" in the link with "simple" to simplify the wiki page and make it a bit less complicated

We installed the original GTA on our schools system in a way that all the kids could access it if they wanted to. We could even "co-op" on the LAN. Ah good times.

This awoke a memory! This video is 3 years old but im gonna comment anyway. One time, I searched up Momo to see what it was, and one of my friends saw it, and told the teacher. Then the teacher told the principal and a letter was distributed to all the parents warning about internet searches. So now everyone in my class has a letter in their house warning about the internet.

We had no Safesearch and we had no teacher in the room and we had about 70% males around 14. And we didn't get an assignment, we were told to 'practice' blind typing. Within 4 minutes, we were all gasping at Murat's screen, on which a woman was intercoursing with a dog on the streets in a far away country. I don't know, I learned a lot of scary things in those hours, nothing about computers though.

Schoolbooks: have detailed depictions of human genitals in biology books. Teacher: "sleep" Random Girl found picture of a female brest on wikipedia. Teacher: "Ban bloogle!"

Honestly during my 8th year of middle school, I was the leading student in terms of finding and testing 3rd party websites that could get around the schools safe search. I found over 100 separate sites that took RU-vid videos and put them on a separate site, accessible by school iPads. I'm sage to say I left a definite mark on that school. Glad I left though, the school became very cringe in the way they dealt with kids. Oh my goodness, ptsd. I even wrote a disstrack on the school. Fire poem.

I actually have a similar story to this. When I was in fifth grade these kids were looking up “funny pictures of black people.” For any non american readers here, the United States has a very very dark history with racism and this was a huge no for my teacher. I wasn’t in that group of idiots but later that week the school principal came in and gave the boys, the girls got to continue recess, a powerful lecture about racism and in her words, “character harassment.” So for the rest of the year we weren’t allowed to use google.

This reminds me of my school. The sensor thing is so bad that the teachers can rarely get into their own lessons. Kahoot is randomly banned on some of the computers. On others, random sites are banned. Bad stuff still gets through. About half of the stuff that’s banned is stuff we need, and half the stuff you do NOT want Highschoolers to have access to is available. And don’t even get me started on the internet…

My schools logic: Other kid: Looks at inappropriate stuff *gets a warning* Me: Listens to music while on task *gets banned*

Our school didn't really have a "child friendly" search engine. So we kept looking up the sex dictionary. And the teacher was actually oké with that cause it was "educational" 😂. We had an very open minded teacher

Random story time: In 4th grade our teacher was nice enough to let us play on the computer,but it was a math game.. There was an option to draw on the screen and this group of four kept laughing,so the teacher checked on them. It turned out one of them drew a “Cheeto” (Not gonna say the real word for it) Then they all got their computers taken away for a day.

My old school is banning everything. They banned coolmathgames, yes, but they are also banning RU-vid and you need a code to access it. So glad I left, the program they are using for safe search would collect and sell data. I never brought my iPad home when I was there.

In seventh grade someone had the bright idea to google their full name and see what comes up. Naturally, everyone else had to try it. That’s the day I came to the traumatizing realization that I share a name with a popular porn star :D I like the new style, and that intro’s pretty great too.

I got in trouble for searching up penny wise in 5th grade, because one of the boys I hated told on me while the other students were fine and made jokes.. he was a party pooper ._.

Ok so as a graduated 7th grader heres how you can bypass a safesearch to watch your blocked videos. (Only works with chromebook and might be blocked soon) Go to settings, switch the engine to bing and then log out, remove account. It might not work for that period so you might have to switch to google at the end of the period and sing out, remove account, then switch back to bing next period and it should work.

When I was in primary 7 we were allowed to use the iPads to research something. (I forgot what we were meant to do) And these three boys were looking up *female parts*. Unfortunately the teachers had an app to check what was on the iPads screens or something so the teacher checked our screens and they all showed up on the smart board. Including the gross stuff. The boys parents got phoned to come to school and take them home immediately.

I had to print 10,000 sheets to another school using their network saying bad things before I was never able to touch a school computer again. Tip of the iceberg.....

My school banned RU-vid at one point due to a bunch of people looking up inappropriate things and bypassing the SafeSearch. This was a huge problem for us because the class I was in literally needed RU-vid for our slide show presentations and we needed to put in video links about past US president campaigns. Turns out even the teachers were blocked from RU-vid, but luckily the school figured out how to block specific people from using RU-vid instead of the entire school

One time in my college induction day,, a classmate searched “French Cut” but accidentally put an “n” after the “u” Putting it delicately,, it didn't end well for him ":)

In my school, when I was in grade 7. We were given our own laptops that we can take home. All ours. Our school was apparently extremely rich.

My teachers use goguardian and it basically blocks crafting sites from the school computers. For example, youtube or Instagram. That teachers also have the ability to close out any of your tabs. So much for privacy.

hi chipflake, i go to school in germany, and for many teachers it's like "rebelling" or a "criminal act" if you say your oinion about something, and i once got a expulsion, or however its called in english, because of that. i told the teacher that saying my opinion is like a fundamental right but she didn't care

I recall how back in school, safe searches were frustrating beyond measure. You try to search for something simple for a school project and you keep getting this stupid page that says "Can't Go there". Chatrooms (remember those?) were also banned cause one time a girl said hello in this one chatroom and some one sent her a bunch of naked pictures.

I was doing a project about Egypt (I did all the work btw) and my partner searched Sphinx. He spelled it wrong. Long story short many pictures of old women wearing nothing but bras and spanks appeared on the screen and everyone still talks about it to this day

Lmao there's always that 1 kid who's a sheltered snowflake in your class. I googled "model" and I was looking for a solar system model in the 3rd grade. Welp I got images of swimsuit models and honestly thought if I scrolled down far enough I would find what I was looking for....... yeeeeaaaaahhhh some kid was offended and reported me. Got detention for a week. 😅

I do have a story,here it goes: When i was a 11 years old kid whit not that much of knowing,i searched xxx,it was the worse thing i ever done I was traumatized.

Back in elementary school, my teachers starting from 3rd grade after I was moved to a different school were using Google Classroom for online assignments. Although it was a bit hard to use considering that elementary schools give you just one teacher to do all the work for you (in 5th grade I had to switch between two over and over again) I actually kinda liked it. Once I entered middle school in the 2019-2020 school year, it was still being used, and it was a lot easier to use because of the new periods system (my school uses something I call the A-day-B-day system where 4 of your 8 classes are on each A day and B day, which repeat in a pattern). But then COVID happened and I was limited to distance learning for my time in 7th grade. Only thing is, although it took me a few days to notice, Google Classroom was no longer in use. Instead, my teachers were using something called "Schoology" for online assignments (which was basically every single assignment that I ever took for that whole school year.) This year, in all the chaos distance learning has caused, with all the 8th graders screwing around like brainless monkeys (often roughhousing or even using curse words), Schoology was still in use, which made me feel like Loudoun County Public Schools had scrapped using Google Classroom permanently. It's something I can't really prove until I start my freshman year of high school. Wish 8th-grader me good luck trying to live through the worst school environment possible only to figure out if Independence High School uses Google Classroom or Schoology the following school year! (god that was a lot to type)

I literally progammed a bypasser for Linux in my institute. I can watch orange youtube and use incognito mod and the teacher couldnt watch my screen, block it or even know if it was on. I shared it with everybody and it got viral in the institute. 2 years later, teachers still dont know about this. Im considered a god since that day.

This sole event is what led her to ride a moped to class, join a moped gang, and snort crushed PopRocks candy while chugging CapriSun pouches. Chipflake was never the same again. 2:50 it’s not “one thing slipped through” so here’s what happened: I was using my computer at my house, and I was using my ✨school account✨ so I wanted to search up one of my favorite fictional characters so I could make stickers with his face on them! And of course I had SafeSearch on so I pressed the “Enter” button and I kept scrolling to find something I liked and the very last picture on my search query… was the fictional character I searched but he had no clothes on and nothing was blurred. So this proves that SafeSearch, is not safe at all.

On time, me and one of my friends were researching for a constellation project. He had Canis Minor, and I had Libra. We were kinda goofing around, and using the "voice to text search" on our Chromebooks. When he said "canis minor" into the search, it said "P***s minor". That's how he got VERY limited computer usage for the rest of the week.

My friend got mobile devices banned from school because she was looking at memes and as the teacher walked by one of them had "extremely inappropriate content(the "d" word)" and all mobile devices were banned from school. we had to use school laptops from then on and their safesarch was so strict it blocked anything with comments. Pop-up ad? block the website because pop-up ads for dawn dish soap are, you know, UNACCEPTABLE!!!!

No matter how safe the computers were in my school I always managed to get through the security system and proxy. Nobody was able to stop me back then :D

when i was in either middle or high school i figured out that you could use google translate to not really translate a page but embed it with partially broken text and it would get past the filters. i used that for years.
