I Got Me (Ich Bin Ich) - Starlight Express - London Workshop 2017 

I know what you mean, I think when they implemented I Got Me (Ich Bin Ich) in Bochum the lyrics are changed a bit. I wish they just rewrote "Lotta Locomotion" but tbh I prefer this song in German.

Exactly! As a woman I HATE being told I'm only worth something if I'm a Sassy Bitch. 🙄 I think the "go make the tea" thing could've worked with the old Dinah... Have her protest a little, waver when everyone repeats it, and have her sing a few lines to herself in an attempt to boost her confidence, then the others sing a "that's all you need" take on it after UNCOUPLED and *then* she finds her strength in ditching Electra. Boom! Interesting character with an important story to tell! You're welcome, Lloyd Webber. If I could think up that in less than a minute they should've been able to make something at least half as interesting with all the time they had.

LadyDragonbane In I Got Me (Reprise) aka Dinah’s Disco she does redeem herself. I will upload it at some point. Tbh I’d rather have Rusty and Dinah do the final race instead of Dustin as it shows that they are both strong when others don’t think they are.

@@iamelectric8525 Where is the story arc leading up to it though? It's certainly missing from the current Bochum show... And I love the idea of her and Rusty racing together

If you look at it as more of a coaches empowerment song (after all, there are female trucks and engines) it works a lot better imo

Yeah I wish they would have gotten these 4 better character arcs xD The other female characters are definetly more fitting to this song

I’m going to try and see it in Bochum after lockdown and yeah if they did the new show as a one night only that would be great.

@@iamelectric8525 I'm holding out for the end of lockdown as well. I had tickets to see the show in April but we all know how that went :D So December it is. Hopefully. Yeeeeeeeeeees, One Night Only was one of the coolest musical experiences in my life. The atmosphere was something else...

I know, they did one English speaking show in Bochum.

It's such a mixed bag with people hahaha. I don't mind it as a song tbh.

@@iamelectric8525 I kinda agree with the opinion that it is a bit too early in the show. Maybe a Lotta Locomotion rewrite would have been better and then I Got Me later on.

@@iamelectric8525 What would have been cool in a Lotta Locomotion rewrite is that Dinah, Belle and Carrie suddenly start singing and introducing themselves while Pearl, the new girl, is a bit shy and nervous at first but then starts singing too. And then later on, after the first race for example, the girls say that they are needed for the race and could win by themselves but the Trains deny them and then they sing I Got Me to show their partial independence from the Trains. Kinda like that!

@@phantomias7230 Yeah I defiantly think I Got Me would be a better Act 2 song. Yeah Lotta Locomotion rewrite should of happened.

MIX - IT! • StEx They repurposed the name of Belle as a replacement for Duvay so it’s not the same character. In the workshop she is Dinah’s friend and not poppas coach. Tassita was new for the workshop as well but would become Carrie.

In Germany we have (from left to right) Carrie, Dinah, Pearl and Belle. Carrie is a luggage car and Belle is a bar wagon

@@starlightimovie IMO means "in my opinion". Personally I think it is much better than A Whole Lotta Locomotion. I wish they would have brought back Lotta Locomotion but try and update with some girl power.

Unfortunately yes. I would love an up to date Lotta Locomotion. Whole Lotta Locomotion - no. It feels to me out of place.
