Ah, A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles, I loved that book! I really need to read Towles's other novels - thanks for the reminder. :) I've been a broken record about my favourite read lately: Adrift by Brideau. It's really stuck with me well after finishing, it painted an interesting future that felt all too plausible. And it has an amnesia storyline which I'm a sucker for, lol.
Oh my gosh this is such a fun memento to have! And Then There Were None and Jurassic Park would also make my top 24! Now you have me thinking about what books I would choose..
Such a lovely way to commemorate your favourites 😊 Interesting list - project hail Mary is our book club pick for this month 👍🏻 Some of these I loved, like Educated, Real Life, Great Circle. Others I really didn't like 😂 I can't wait to read Becoming, and Amor Towles.
Life of Pi was so good, I haven't read it for ages. I think I may have to dig it out again! PHM is one of my absolute favourite reads of this year! It is superb and Ray Porter's narration is exceptional! What a beautiful mug, I love this idea!
Wow, I already had 6 of these in my TBR: Breakfast of Champions (temporarily DNF-ed), House of Leaves, Project Hail Mary, Annihilation, The Overstory, A Tale for the Time Being (last two I recently bought at a book fair). And now I'm adding more on my TBR: Interior Chinatown, Bird by Bird and maybe Burnt Sugar, too 😃 Thank you for the recommendations! Elena Knows is one of my favorites from this year ☺
So good! P&P, LIfe of Pi, A Gentleman in Moscow and The Fellowship of the Rings would be on mine too. You've reminded me that i have to read my copy of House of Leaves and finish Overstory. I can really see why others that I've read are on your favourites- Great Circle, Real Life, Becoming, Educated, Project Hail Mary, Rules of Civility and Agatha Christie. I've really got to try Burnt Sugar and Elena Knows both on my virtual tbr. I have Remains of the day lined up to read in 2024. Some that are my top favourites- Jane Eyre, Out of Africa (both need a reread). Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell (one I want to reread), Wild Swans by Jung Chang, The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver, Milkman by Anna Burns, West by Carys Davis, The Living Sea of Waking Dreams by Richard Flanagan, Cloudstreet by Tim Winton, The Yield by Tara June Winch just to name a few..... 🙂
Books I enjoyed : The Bee Sting, The Known World, Hamnet… & right now I’m reading The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult … Crossroads … & The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store …
With all the interest in controlling what we read, meaning banned books, this mug would be a positive method to challenge that idea. For 2024 I’m going to find 24 banned books, read them and make mugs. Sarah have you done an episode about banned books? Thanks for your great channel!
I haven't done anything on banned books, but that would be a good idea! I believe this company also sells mug designs that are collections of banned books, which are cheaper than making a custom one. Could be worth checking out :) but I love your idea!
I’ve just finished a book I think you’d like Happiness Falls I did the audio. One of the central characters is a young man with autism and Angel man syndrome , who is non verbal. I’d also recommend Deluge by Stephen Markley ( climate fiction)
@@tayluvofficial You are paying for the person making it's time considering it is hand water colour painted. So it makes sense. It's a days pay which is essentially how long the person making it probably took to create it. When you think of it like that, it's not actually expensive but reasonably priced.
