I had a lady try to return baby formula someone had just bought for her when I asked her for the receipt she said she didn’t have it and left the baby formula behind

I hate to say that, but that was probably a scam. I'm up here in Minnesota, and the Targets are getting hit with exactly what you explained. That's how they get people to feel bad for them, and also have children with them. Also, they will add more items when you aren't looking. You meant well hon!!
My son taught me this lesson at 12 or 13. We passed a beggar on the freeway, asking for money for food. My son said we should give the guy some money. I told my son that he was probably an addict and would spend the money on alcohol or drugs. My son looked at me with disappointment and said. He asked me what the Bible would say. I knew I was in trouble. He told me if we drive by and do nothing, that is our sin. What he does, with the money, if he spends it for something different than what he asked. You know I turned that car around and went back and gave the money to the man. Now the cautious side of me says change the password to your debit card and go the bank and get a new one because she could have used one of those things that copy card numbers.
I understand this point completely However, what you said to your son about giving the begger money is so very true. Also, although you both may have been trying to help him in some way if he were to use that money on drugs and alcohol then essentially without knowing it you may have been furthering his addiction which is ultimately a sin if he is using it to get drunk. While I’m not saying that you shouldn’t have stepped in and helped him or that you’re sinning by giving him money. it’s just better to offer a care bag, some food and a drink instead. However, I know that you both had good motives in helping him and I can only hope and pray that he used that money for food. I apologize if this comes off too strong in any way. Just something I’ve learned from desiring to do the same type of thing but with a different approach so that it doesn’t go to waste or the deed gets taken advantage of.
@@AnnA-jd4xmagree. If they are really that poor they are hungry and not living somewhere well and would accept food. That’s where those scammers come in when all they will accept is money. Some of them have smart phones and all kinds of things.
I always say if you/I were willing to help someone out, then the rest goes home with them! We can only take responsibility for what we do and they for themselves. But it’s good to pass a suspicion on, just in case.
I fed my toddler an egg in a mug every morning. I add a dash of milk and teaspoon of salted butter. Microwave in increments of 30 sec and stir every 30 sec.❤
Lacey, when my boys were young, they loved fruit. I would involve them in helping me make fruit and yogurt parfait. We did different combinations depending what fruits/yogurt we had on hand. That was a breakfast I could be sure they would eat because they helped prepare it.
Cheese toast was always a hit with my kids for breakfast. Two piece of bread, a piece of cheese on each slice of bread. Toast in the oven until cheese it’s melted and a little toasty. I cut them into little squares with a pizza cutter.
Hey Lacey, You did the right thing, even if it was a scam. (And maybe it wasn't.) If you help someone and they don't use it as they said they would, that is a reflection of their character. You giving of your budget to help them, that reflects on your character. You did a good thing. All you can do now is trust God will guide it. The prayer I say most often other than '"Thank you." is "Not of me, but through me." meaning that I'm asking God to help me stay open so his good can flow through me without me shutting it down. I have to work at staying open to positive outcomes as it is so easy to imagine the negative one. Be proud of yourself.
Thank you for sharing your experiences from the school of life. Most of us probably will encounter this kind of situation. I felt disappointed in society and myself when it happened, but most of all saddened.... Now I only help out with food items in stores and support via charity/community organisations. Off topic, I noticed and appreciate your efforts to make this channel participative and diversified.
You gave from your heart...if you got scammed... that's on her...I got scammed before once too...I gave this woman $10...she proceeded to run into the liquor store and buy liquor w it...🤦♀️and I never give $$$... but that time I did...
There are reborn dolls for children but also even more lifelike reborn dolls for adults. Like support the neck or the structure will break reborn dolls. And very realistically painted etc. They’re not cheap. Anyway! You’re a good human Lacey 🙂
Lighthouse dressing is so good. It's company was originally located in Sandpoint Idaho (still has a factory there) but now has I think 5 more factories throughout the USA. I live just a few city blocks from the factory in Sandpoint.
Lowell Michigan is also one a family member worked there for 5 or 6 years was a great company to work for. Very family oriented and knew family came first and had big family Christmas party and one party during the summer. They use to go all out. I hope they still do
Don't ever feel bad for saying 'Sorry I don't have the means right now' Sorry I can't right now' , etc.. You could always offer up $10 to help them but always pay don't hand over cash or the receipt.
Most likely a scam, they ask for things than they turn around and return it in for money. Your heart in the right spot, what she does with it is on her.
Hi Lacie ...my DIL had this issue so she would cut up fruit and place it on a plate or bowl and just put somewhere near where she is playing and then she will nibble away ...good luck
I live in Joplin MO and have heard about someone like that here. They will walk around Target fill their basket and then try to get someone else to pay
My toddler doesn’t like to eat breakfast either, she will eat fruit so I let her have yogurt parfaits or add extra fruit to oatmeal, I’ve also make fruit & yogurt bars (frozen) as long as she’s eats something
Lacy you have a really good heart and hopefully that never changes but it is a scam that is going around where they ask you if you can buy baby stuff or other items and when you agree sometimes they even add more but end up taking the receipt and returning it. Sometimes it even a couple woman

Our toddlers are the roughly the same age. Right now my toddler loves Brown n serve sausage the Vermont maple flavor (they don't taste sweet) and waffles. he just had the eggo cinnamon toast mini waffles recently and really likes them. Or pancakes are always a hit. Recently I gave him some yogurt with granola (Open Nature Cinnamon Bun Granola) he LOVED it! He called it yogurt with cookies :P Or getting Gogurts and freezing them is always yummy too.
@@CrazyGoodLife when my toddler was little he ate eggs no problem. but now he won't touch them lol. Oh also Multi Grain cheerios with milk OR he just munches on them dry. Bananas and strawberries are also big with him right now.
I love writing our list on paper too and my sister always tell me to put it on my phone I don't ask for help a lot especially since recently I was told by someone I go to church with told me that I am weak for asking for help
People come up all the time where we live. I give them a ten dollar limit. I tell them to get products from the travel section. Usually they leave me standing there. Those who are not scammers accept the conditions. Sometimes it will go over a little, but that's fine. You probably were scammed but you were doing what you were taught; be kind so don't beat yourself up.
I got suction cup toothbrush holders on Shien. Super cheep and works great. Helping people is never bad but like you said, don't make an elaborate story
Even if it was fake anyone willing to lie about why they need money still probably needs it even if she sells it out returns for credit you’re helping someone out somewhere. If you have the means to do it then keep doing it.
"breakfast" foods are a very American (or anglo) thing. In most of the rest of the world, people just have a "morning meal" or "early lunch" before they hit the fields for work. With that said just figure out your daughter's favorite foods and feed her that for breakfast. think about the concept of "breakfast tacos"; it's just basically a taco with some fillings that are "breakfast-ish" like eggs and potatos but you can also get chorizo and grilled veggies as well.
Lacey, i look at it like this… if they ask and you are inclined to help.. if you have it ($) and someone Needs help, and do not help… shame on you. But if she asked and in good faith you helped, and she didnt need it shame on her.
Not breakfast people either mom just has a yogurt but I eat more odd ball stuff. We long ago saw a interview with Christie Brinkley like she ate spaghetti for breakfast so I have tacos homemade or such for breakfast and then eat breakfast for lunch or diner
Think of it this way you didn’t get scammed if it was something she could take back and get money back for and then use money for drugs or something. It be one thing but it’s not like you handed her cash. You know what she got for her money and no matter who needed it somebody needed it or she wouldn’t of asked for it. She would’ve asked for something different so I wouldn’t worry about it. You did good.
Bex just may be one of those kids that are not hungry when they get up. My son and myself are the same way. I have never been a breakfast eater and drove my mom nuts too! I forced my son until about 3rd grade and he hated it! Well turned out he not so much wasn’t hungry but just not for breakfast food. He is great with breakfast for dinner, just doesn’t want it first thing in the morning! Food is food to him and has no order to when he eats it at what time of the day. Know what turned out to be his morning go to? Chicken noodle soup and homemade crackers and peanut butter. By homemade he wanted saltines with peanut butter and not the prepackaged ones. Let her choose sometime and see what happens. I found a couple recipes for what were called breakfast cookies too for the grab and hold mornings. They were really nothing more than oatmeal cookies with a smaller amount of mini chocolate chips in them. Figured better than chocolate chip pancakes and syrup and they are oatmeal! The struggle is real but pick your battles. Something is better than nothing in the belly mornings! I did have some limits though. No chicken nuggets, French fries or Mac and cheese! LOL! She might like a yogurt smoothie too! Ask her what she wants. You got this!! All kids are different. Do what works for her and you for less stressful mornings.

Lacey I have a suggestion for you the NEXT time this Happens to you where someone wants you to buy them something like that. Tell them you can ONLY DO IT if they will let you video The items they need you to pay for, and the payment of the items also. And if there is a LIFELIKE BABY in that Stroller, Ask if you can hold the baby. That will shut them down every time. and if it doesn't at least you will know whether that baby was REAL or NOT! And the Beggar is on Video too. Good Luck! And Lacey I babysit my 2 yr. old granddaughter every day. She wakes up between 6 & 7 every morning. First I make sure and change her pants, Then I better have her Cup of Milk Ready for her, And I wait a few more minutes up to an Hour to actually feed her. She likes the Maple Brown Sugar Cream of Wheat cereal in the Morning. Then I get hungry and I make Fried Eggs & Toast & Hash Browns. She likes to have Bites of it ALL. And sometimes when she refuses the cereal, I get her a cup of Oranges or Peaches, she loves those Fruit cups too. Just a few suggestions. You've probably tried them all yourself. =)
I hate getting scammed. At least I ordered Barney’s Pajama Party VHS tape and Barney: Let’s Go to the Doctor DVD on Amazon with my gift card without getting scammed. Phew!! I hate scammers!! They suck!!
Karma is 💯 percent, either good or bad, , you definitely reap what you sow, 1. She could have done it to get money back on returning the stuff ( for drugs, cigarettes etc) 2. She could be legit 3. Regardless you did something good for another human being and you will be blessed for it, I myself give freely, I say as long as I’m doing right it’s out of my hands, so as long as you’re doing right, you’re good 👍🏻
I had an elderly lady knock on my car window one night at a store after I had just got in my car and she was crying begging for money and I apologized and said I just spent my last dollar because I did but I still feel bad to this day about it although at the same time idk if she really needed or not cause it was 10pm and you really don’t see older people her age out passed 8-9pm I sat there for bit after she came up to me I watched as she went around to 3 or 4 other people and ask them I watched a guy give her some money but it’s still heavy on my mind all the time it happened over a year ago I could rn about it I’m still confused about the whole thing
do you feed Bex as soon as she wakes in the morning? I know when my kid was little he refused to eat as soon as he woke up, he would be fine after about 20 mins. He would have french toast, a bagel not toasted with butter or fruit and yogurt, or oatmeal, or cream or wheat. when he got a lil older and even know as an adult he won't eat cereal with milk, he will have a bowl of cereal and a glass of milk LOL

I personally wouldnt have felt bad, she didnt buy drugs or alcohol, cigarettes with the $30, she bought basic needs. She was probably too ashamed to ask or say anything but saw that yous might help her if she had a “child” with her. Those are things we provide and give for women living refuge homes, homeless shelters, youth group homes etc. Its also important to be aware of people who are really scamming people out there too so understandable aswell.
Here’s the way I see it Lacey. If she was scamming you that’s between her and God. You did what you felt was right - helping someone in need. Don’t dwell on it too much.

let my kids eat any protein they wanted (that we had.. lol) for breakfast. one ate baked beans almost daily! mostly, they like hot cereals like oatmeal (cooked, not instant), cream of wheat, grits, etc. or toast with p.b., or cheese. but toddlers eat when they want to not necessarily when we want them to.. lol. hang in there, bex won't starve if she likes eating later than brekky time.
"Baby" carrots are a waste of money, they're shaved down large carrots. Get a veggie peeler. Peel the outside of a regular size carrot and slice to size.
