Wherever you eat NEVER drink their water - Always bring your own bottled water - also don't eat any of their prepared sauce or anything they prepared in water ( eg Chutni) as they don't use best water Eat from Good restaurants & ONLY cooked food ( as heat kills germs) and never eat from " on street food" places -all the best ( Please do update us if your travel insurance paid the bills and how easy or tough it was)

@@K4MR4N1UK123 Hello I am not putting down anyone in any country - I was just talking about HEALTH precautions BTW - I read in the news many students in University of Punjab Lahore - who were living in their hostels and drinking water provided by the hostel food vendors got Hepatitis C disease from drinking the water ( it is is life long disease and can kill you ) If you ignore your health ( wherever you are - you will get sick)
I can feel you. I am an overseas pakistani and i get sick pretty quickly because of street food when i go to Pakistan (mostly because of the water). Hope you get well soon. Take care.
Never eat street food or eat from a cheap road side restaurant in Pakistan they prepare food in the most unhygienic manner that you can’t even imagine only eat from the “elite class” restaurants of Pakistan or international fast food companies
Awww, Brent, I'm so sorry you fell so poorly. Wot a nightmare. You had so much fun in Pakistan. Hope this doesn't put u off returning to Pakistan. If you ever return, I would love to meet up with u there. I haven't been to Pakistan in many many years. You've inspired me to visit again. Let me know when you visit again.
That's why you should be careful when eating off the streets. You guys eat things, which even locals would avoid. Get well soon! I have stayed in this Radisson blue, the room is a bit small, but a lot of things nearby, it is far from downtown, but metro is quite close.
@Brent Timm Yes, but much of the street food is extremely unhygienic in South Asian countries. If it wasn't for salmonella, it could have been hepatitis, God forbid. Stay safe!
Hi brent. Really sorry to see you in such a state. Thanks for raising voice against the poor standard of health care even in the most expensive private hospitals in Pakistan. Typhoid is definetly one of the worst you can get. Glad to see you have regained a lot of your health. Thank you so much for all the vlogs you have posted and for painting a positive picture for my country. p.s It'd help if you could name the hospital you visited so the managment can be held accountable.
I recently travelled to Pakistan with my family. We mostly drank bottled water or if the water was from a tube well, we boiled it first always to get rid of any potential parasites. Fortunately we all stayed really healthy. The only street food worth eating is fried pakoras and samosas and they have to literally taken out of the hot oil in front of you (ie super fresh) otherwise don't bother. Also, avoid guavas. They are soft and tend to have insects in them too.
You will be all healthy again . Take light diet for sometime .you will regain your strength back . But take a good rest and do not rush to irk hard . May Allah keep smiling you .
There's a serious problem in Pakistan street food it's mostly unhygienic I strongly recommend especially foreigners to goto good well known restaurants only.. Should have gone to a good doctor in agha khan hospital really good one in karachi..
Hello Brent, happy to see you, This is a big question and shame to all Pakistani food Authority who are not checking water of restaurants, because water is very dangerous,we Pakistani are always facing this problem so again shame on food authorities because we addressed this issue several times but there is no any implementation

I can feel you, I had typhoid 13 years ago and it was worst, I was vomiting and came to know I had gotten malaria too, so I had two viruses wreaking havoc in my body, I pray you get healthy and recover fast both from the medical and financial injury....amen... Also you are a warrior who stood in the hardest time and fought till the end!very very inspiring..
My uncle was travelling back from Saudi Arabia and he stayed one day in Dubai on his way back, living there he caught horrible virus and within one day our whole family in Pakistan caught the virus of high fever for many days it was not normal sickness. Things happen sometimes even when we are cautious. Hope you get well soon ❤
be careful, my family also came back from umrah back to america and got coronavirus from dubai. very unhygienic there or they are just not taking proper precautions.
Brent, I'm glad that you are back and have recovered fully. I was so worried when you traveled to Pakistan. Unfortunately, the drinking water seems fine but actually it's bad. Whenever I would travel to Pakistan I'd always have Pedialyte water and a mineral water bottle with me, this is a very common practice done by foreign Pakistanis. Thank you for addressing all other problematic things in Pakistan, because I'll be honest these issues are ignored the most. Also, that was a great decision to get healthcare in Dubai (because it's horrible in Pakistan). Take good care of yourself. Much love.

I just came back to the uK … honestly I never eat anything outside unless it’s top a chain restaurant, or western hotel Don’t even touch salad, ice cubes!
Yup only eat in the “elite class fine dine” restaurants of Pakistan or international fast food companies don’t even think of touching street food or road side cheap restaurants they prepare food in the worst most unhygienic way possible
I had this in Bangkok a while back. Was bedridden for a day in the hotel after eating a burger at siam mal.. Thankfulky the tiredness and loose motion only lasted for 24 hrs and was ablr to be on the move the day after.

I think karachi doesnt suit you brent ; thats the second time you got sick visiting karachi. I always wonder what animals like chicken and cows eat there as there is barely any green patches in karachi only dirt .
Somehow lots of people are suffering from a stomach bug..do not eat on the streets..only bottled water and hot food served fresh..never have salads raita yogurt chutneys etc etc
Health cost is too much in Uae. I really feel worried when i am about to get sick as it is not easy to afford the cost of taking the treatment here. May Allah protect all of us.
Let me get this straight, the part you glossed over was you sat on a plane with hundreds of other people and you had active Typhoid? One of the most highly contagious viruses there is? Can you explain that?
Phew it is very High …. !!!! You could go to Agha Khan hospital in KHI. It won’t cost you more than 2000 usd. American Hospital is the most expensive Hospital in Dubai.
I travel around the world and I have been to numerous countries , some countries have very strict food regulations relating to the preparation and storage of food that is prepared for sale and others don't . I have never got any problems from eating food because I am very strict on what I eat and what I don't eat . Food must be stored at the correct cool temperature and cooked at correct hot temperature also it should prepared on clean work benches , stainless steel being the best material . Pathogens that cause food poisoning survive in moist conditions so for example I would never eat prepared fruit or vegetable salads off a street stall , chicken not properly cooked or stored at the right temperature is one of the main foods that can cause severe food poisoning . When I am in a country where food standards are not high , I eat mainly dried food such as, package biscuits , potato crisps in a packet , package dried confectionery and dried nuts , I also buy unpeeled fresh fruit such as mangos , bananas , oranges and I take a vegetable peeler to peel fruits such as apples if they are available . Also I have found some bottle water does irritates my throat so I stick too well know international brands such as Nestles. In some countries the only hot food I would buy is something like potato fries that are cooked in front of me in very hot oil . Too many tourist rush in and buy foods without knowing what goes on behind the scenes such as the storage , preparation and the cooking process and if clean hands and clean gloves are worn in the process .
