This is a time-lapse video of a contractor sealcoating my asphalt driveway. As a part of this process, the cracks were filled first with a crack sealant, and then the entire driveway was given a seal coating.
Hey all! Thanks again for stopping by! I JUST had my driveway re-sealed AGAIN! It's the newest video on my channel, just posted today! Let me know what you think - is the 2017 sealing job better? or is the 2020 sealing job better? Let me know what you think!
@@mustanggang5.0 yes - but it also protects the driveway and also helps snow/ice melt in the winter. The driveway is mostly shaded in the summer, so its not a huge impact
If you don't write the name of the city it's still a valid comment. I think it applies to every city, not only in the US but here in many european countries too.
@Sean O’ Deli It certainly is a trade by at least several definitions. One of which is “an occupation requiring manual or mechanical skill”. I agree it does take some skill. He also meets the definition of tradesman “A man who practices a manual trade.”.
If you're not already watching your RU-vid videos in at least 1.5 or 1.75 speed, then you're doing it wrong. There's WAY to much to watch and hear in normal speed.
I prefer to just get the job done without stopping. Once I go sit or lean somewhere I don’t wanna get started again and I’m not in the rhythm anymore. Unless I’m super tired or hungry then obviously I would have a break
Sean oh hell yes! Or the music that the Ed Sullivan Show would use when this guy would get 50 plates spinning on 5' sticks! Sorry I'm dating myself, but it would be hilarious!
Max Difficulty Forza how is that even a profit then? I’m sure the materials must cost quite a bit of money. But then again 200 usd would be way more in cad where I’m from.
I sealcoat and crackfill for a living. This guy did a marvelous job. PLUS, he didn’t take out his cell phone ONCE! Where can I find more guys like this to hire? 😂
@@waffelo4681 Australia is almost identical in size to the USA but with a population of only 25million. The USA’s population is Quite large for a country.
I use to work for a company that does asphalt preservation as they call it. I've seal coated with a spray truck but I fully believe the way this was done is actually the best way to do it. It really gets it down in the little dimples.
Gregory Everson not trying to be an ass but you have no idea what you are talking about, I'm a contractor and things you think are easy may not be. You see it and think you can do it but I bet 100% a room you paint and a room I paint look way different and my paint job will last longer. It's about the knowledge of what you are doing and the product you use.
@@tsr6 I think Dignity said that because I said 315 years. I actually seen the comment for the first time and finally got the joke this morning.. Only a vampire could live 315+ years!! Funny!!!
You hired a good contractor. He used a squeegie instead of spraying it on with a sprayer. The squeegie does a much better job than the sprayer but at the cost of the contractors material. He uses more but it does a better job. Most driveway sealers spray it on to make a better profit. I did driveways during a summer in highschool. Was hot and sweaty work in the heat of the day but it was fun.
hoover2001 yeah, honestly tho driveway sealing made good money. I just started banging on doors and giving people deals they couldnt resist. 75 bucks for a 1 car driveway, 100 for a 2 car. I went through a neighborhood and racked up $600 bucks on a saturday morning. And hell, for being 16 that was nice. My dad fixed me up with a tank, a pickup truck, and some 5 gallon buckets and let me go.
To give y'all an idea of what Rayan is talking about requires the chickenomics lecture where chicken is used as an "economic indicator". In 1986 I took my first carpenter's job as a 'helper'. Was paid $9/hour. Big deal right? Continue reading this gets good. In 1986 chicken was $0.20/pound. I could buy nine chickens with the money I earned in just one hour as a carpenter's helper. Ok? Seems pretty simple. Now flash forward 32 years to today. I now own a construction company and can't get paid that nine chickens per hour rate. No way. A chicken is like $7 or $8 so I'd have to charge at least $63-$72 per hour and that's just for my helper. I gave myself a raise and now I want TWELVE chickens an hour or you can go hire Hoolio and his cousin Enrique.
A broom does a better job. Using a squeegee leaves barely any material on the driveway, where a broom leaves a good amount, meaning it lasts longer. I worked seal coating / paving / striping in NY for about 5 years, and up there you only spray large parking lots. I can't think of anyone spraying driveways.
Wow. It was a play on the fact that it's her name, and she said something nice. Happily married with two kids, thanks. However, it is really hilarious how that went so far over so many peoples' heads. Good job, guys.
When I saw contractor in the title I thought it was going to be an *and then this happened* type video. 😂 Turns out he actually just did a good job then left.
Dont need to.they usually wear cleats wh8le sealing so the foot prints arent huge.and he did a finish on it.if he missed a spot youd see cleat marks in the sealer.
At first I thought some sketchy activity was going to take place. Thankfully, what we have here is an honest man, making a living, and doing a good job. 👍
I like this single guy better than the new crew. Just the ASMR visuals of the U shape going down the driveway, very relaxing. Hope the jobs are just as good!
Shybaka289 Oh man, remember playing multiplayer with my fam on that track. Memories. Also, cheating at the start by driving off to the right and falling down to half way across the track.
tsr6 I was speaking of the tricks played on people by these fly by night seal coat gypsies! Never pay for a job until it’s finished! Any job you have done, never pay first
I come from Germany, we don't usually asphalt driveways and I don't even have one! I don't know why RU-vid wants me to see this. But I am happy for the uploader about the great success of his video together.
