No, 31st August isn't the independence day of Malaysia. 31st August is the independence day of peninsular Malaysia. On that day, Sarawak and Sabah are still under British rule.
@user-mn6ee5bj6t If we are in the same family of Malaysia, we can celebrate both dates❤ you mean you do not celebrate the birthdays of your siblings? You celebrate your own birthday only?
@user-mn6ee5bj6t without 31 August 1957, we won't have Malaya. We won't even have the idea of 'Malaysia'. We definitely won't have Sabah or Sarawak. Or Singapore for that matter.
Hi CARLOS, I would like to share how ‘toxic/extreme patriotism’ (chauvinistic type of patriotism) started among part Indonesians. It was started from first Indonesian president (Sukarno) who have big ‘dream’ to combine few countries in southeast asia under his power using ‘guided democracy’ (forceful ‘democracy’). He started his ‘ganyang Malaysia’ (crushed malaysia) campaign to boycott Malaysia. Sukarno launched this extreme campaign because he disagreed with Malaysia ways to claim back power to rule their own country (from Great Britain). Malaysia just want to govern their country without any control from Great Britain. Thus, Malaysia choose professional ways which are doing negotiations with Great Britain to claim power to avoid many lives killed again like past tragedy when British governors were sent to every states & they over-ruled sultans/kings position that time. That toxic ‘nationalism’ campaign (ganyang malaysia) shaped extreme ultra-patriotism values/personality/traits among some of Indonesians today.
I second...as there are the 1st to obtain independence from the colonialist...they pretend to be the big brother and malaysia are deserved to be envied, bullied by them. You will notice that since malaysia independence since 1957, our development has progressed far better than them especially in the year 1970s - 2000s.
Jayalah malaysia, jayalah asean.

Menjadi rasis berarti menjadi bodoh.
I dunno why Indonesians are so envy and jealousy at Malaysia/Malaysians.. Literally, I'd never seen any Malaysian do the same or bother about Indonesians...
What a Fantastic fireworks 👍👍👍🎇🎆 for the Independence Day🇲🇾 this is how Malaysian celebrate the Independence Day. Merdeka Merdeka Merdeka🇲🇾 .... enjoying the day 🥰 👍🫰🤟🇲🇾
Ngerendahin negara loe sendiri, dasar goblok.loe liat indonesia skrg ky ap, tolol.tim les aj nysel kluar dr indo nah ini loe malah ngerendahin negara loe
Please don't compare us with Indonesia because we're totally different than them on certain things. Just keep it to yourself. Enjoy your trip around Malaysia, by the way.
@@tyrianovila It is serious!.. Some tourists/travelers do not search an information about our beloved Malaysia first. They think we are some part of Indonesia!
the young guy said.. please let him go first.. so it is not usual for us to cut queue actually.. just for your sake, because you are foreigner... it's kinda welcoming gestures from us
I'm loving Malaysia! 🇲🇾 Wish I'd been there to celebrate now that I've seen it 🥳 So glad you made it to the front and how regal are the King and Queen? 👑 But my favourite...your face with the fireworks 🎇 just spectacular and so exciting 🤩 How were your ears afterwards? Happy Independence Day Malaysia 🇲🇾
About the MRT token, actually you can directly select Putrajaya Sentral station when you buy the tokens at the machine, it will automatically calculate which line you switch to and how much will the fare cost, you don't need to buy seperately, because all the lines are operated under the same company. Also, it's more convenient if you buy a Touch n Go card at the station, you just need to top up the card with enough money and you can use it at EVERY train line in Kuala Lumpur.
Those ppl camped at roadsides at Putrajaya, way ahead of u guys! They left KL exactly after celebration at Dataran Merdeka in KL on d eve of Merdeka! No sleep! Merdeka celebration then took place in Putrajaya on 31st Aug !
Just additional info The Queen will not do handshakes with male just as our Islamic rules doesn't allows it I'm kinda jealous you're lucky to see them up close not only The King and Queen but our new Prime minister too😱
@@madkhaliqfarhan Honestly, I don't care less about politics of any parties I went along with majority voters and the formed government as long as it bring peace and prosperity to the country As a Malaysia citizen I love the diversity and harmony amongst everyone living in it ... ✌️✌️✌️✌️
The last part of the firework scene is so iconic. With the Malaysian flag waving + beautiful firework performance at the back match up perfectly! Enjoy your day in Malaysia bro Carlos. You're truly my favourite vlogger 💯👍👍
The last part of the fireworks is actually part of the Hungry Ghost Festival, coincidentally, according to chinese calendar, 31st August 2023 is same day chinese send the King of Hades back to hell as part of the festival.
@@ChaFromBFA we don't burn religious offerings for Merdeka. You can see heaps of incense paper or joss papers on the floor. Definitely not for Merdeka.
😅😄Welcome to Malaysia brother! I knew this is just a platform for you to move to other country but you had left your based country with massive viewers 😅 However to maintain that, ideal countries such as the Philippines, India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan will again let you build an extensive viewers and subscribers. Have fun in Malaysia and God bless.
Bro, all these countries that you just mentioned are super exciting for me to visit and I'm looking forward to visit all of them next year 😀 Actually Malaysia would only have been a transit stop, but I decided to travel for awhile here until the end of the month, and then heading back to 1 more month to Indonesia and after that Philippines and the countries that you mentioned above hehe ✌️
@@WildCARLOSappeared Good to hear brother! I've been following you since your Philippines days. One of my favourite vlogger. Your engagement with the locals and immersing their culture and lifestyle definitely are your strong credentials. Keep it up bro. So, you're gonna miss lots of indomie, tempe and the warongs for the entire month 😅 Btw, there's more vegetarian options here. It's been so long I didn't hear you utter the word "Ga makan sapi, ikan Ibu. Cuman vegetarian" 😅😅 Go to the local Indian and Chinese warongs here and they can prepare no meat meals to your request. Have fun bro.

Regarding the ticket machine, u cant use crumpled notes bro or may be for convenient u can purchase the card ticket which can be reload.👍that wil safe u alot of hassle
Finally you arrived in Malaysia. Welcome. The culture here is a little different compared to Indonesia. More educated people, less scammers. Don't be afraid to ask. Be sure with Malaysians because here there are also many foreigners who do not understand Malay and English. With Malaysians there is no problem and it is free to ask. I hope you can also travel around Malaysia and visit major cities such as Malacca and Penang, which are Unesco cities. If you want to feel the village atmosphere, you need to go to the East Coast such as Terengganu and Kelantan.
Thanks for your advises 😎 Yes, I wanna travel a bit as well here in Malaysia. Penang and maybe Malacca. I've heard Redang Island should be beautiful as well
@WildCARLOSappeared Redang Island is worth dropping by, for its sugary white sands and its serendipity. Soothing sea breeze. If you keen visit offshore island, now is the best timing. Second best timing is after Chinese New Year of 2024. Reason being rough sea is not safe for everyone even fisherman don't go out October-Jan (wet season) for fish hunting. You also don't want to get yourself stranded on the island. Not a good idea, Mr. Carlos.
Stranded like Tom Hanks in (I guess the movie's name was) Castaway?! 😂 Yeah I heard that they close the island from October on. Guess it's a good chance for me now
@WildCARLOSappeared I have been to Redang Island many years before. So I can share with you my experience. But I can't fully called on memory because it has been 12~ 15 years already There is something called "blue sand" (pasir biru) by local people there, it's found on the shore (a type sea algae that gives out blue light in middle of the night) You can check it out there. It is awesome!
According to Khoo Kay Kim, Malaysian historian, Malaysia was not colonized by the British. The British established themselves in Malaya only to mine and run rubber plantations which were all paid taxes to the Malay Kings. Japan also did not colonize Malaya because the institutions and functions of the Malay Monarchs were still maintained. The enemy of Malaya at that time was the communists who would abolish the monarchy system if they succeeded in conquering Malaya. The idea of a Malayan Union was sparked by the British when there was a problem with tax payments. The British were asked to withdraw from Malaya instead of Malaya demanding independence. Similar to Singapore. Singapore celebrated its independence as if it was independent from Malaysia, whereas Singapore was released in 1965. The idea of independence just merely a political stunt to gain trust from the people. In contrast to Indonesia, which was indeed colonized by the Dutch under the Dutch East India Company, these islands where there are no Indians are called the Indian Islands. The currency is still Rupiah and their flag was modified from the dutch flag. Malaysia and Thailand have never been colonized because of the Monarch government.
@@m73trlwell to think back, we are not really colonized, yes there are rules and ideology from the brits like divide and conquer were there but the government like the monarchs are still there, technically yes but like the professor said, we can call it independence from the brits as they did hold our economy back then before independence
We can apply for a permit for it in Malaysia and it needs to be done in a controlled condition. Safety aspects have to be in place such as fire extinguishers and people have to stand from a safer distance.
Wah Hebat. Kemerdekaan malaysia ternyata lebih Megah, dan luar biasa.., saya merayakan kemerdekaan di indonesia sungguh biasa saja.. 😢 Selamat Hari kemerdekaan untuk negara malaysia
You should take MRT from the beginning, I'm not sure why it's not one of your option because MRT started operating at 4 am on that day and it's actually faster, other foreign youtubers are using MRT too 😂
@@WildCARLOSappeared Is Public holiday & late night...If difficult to get taxi @ online taxi @ grab..So many people use that in the same time. Some people already waiting to celebrate Merdeka day in some place ..like Merdeka Square , Putrajaya & other place..
The extreme and unexpected fireworks is actually part of Hungry Ghosts Festival, its a celebration by Malaysian Chinese in the 7th month of the lunar calendar. Coincidentally, 31st August 2023 is the day where we send the King of Hades back to hell, hence the celebration. You can see the offerings in front of the shop.
@@WildCARLOSappearedHe was appointed as the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia on November 24, 2022 (Thanksgiving)! He had to wait for 24 years because he was fired from the Deputy Prime Minister post by the 4th (and 7th) Prime Minister of Malaysia, Mahathir Mohamad on September 2, 1998! This Saturday will be the 25th anniversary of his infamous firing!
Sorry about the taxi or online transportation Due to heavy traffic in putra jaya and high demand during festive event a public transportation is the best solution or you can use rental cars/motor bike nearby

My house is in Kajang about 15 minutes from Putrajaya. But to celebrate Independence day, I spend a night in a hotel in Putrajaya near the area. So....I got good place to watch the whole event
because some netizens are racist, as a result this comment section becomes a misunderstanding between malaysia and indonesia.. for the master of this channel, you evaluate yourself later on how malaysia is in your eyes, and if you get the answer keep the assessment to yourself, malaysia and Indonesians are like dogs and cats..feeling they are the best..
@@WildCARLOSappeared YES and I saw the prime minister agong(I think that's how you spell the name) and anwar And traffic it took almost one hour to find parking
