I had this surgery 7 weeks ago and I'm experiencing the pain in the ball of my foot, will this ever go away? I asked my doctor and she said it was normal and didnt seem to worried about it, i walk like a lil old lady now, hope it goes away, wished i never had the surgery done but she told me if i didnt have it done now that i will have to within the next 5 yrs cuz the bunion would get worse if left untreated

I have the same problem my surgery was 5 years ago ago and now I begin to feel the pain on the ball of my foot I already have orthotics and didn’t work for me there is no cushion on the arch and the hill is too high is given me more pain and yes I went to the podiatrist and I was told that the pain is for the rest of my life I so regretted to done surgery I should live and die with the bunions instead no one has die just to have a bunion Now I have on my left foot the doctor want me to do another surgery. 😢😢😢I say there is no way I will do that again. That was a big mistake

I had a Austin Bunionectomy last November and now my big toe has no mobility at the 2nd joint. Anybody ever experienced this and if so, did you get relief?

Try the range of motion exercises again? Push it up and down 200 times a day in sets of 50. My doctor told me to do this from day 1. I had a drop down austonectomy 3 weeks ago.

I’m the rare exception. Inside I normally walk with shoes on. One day I was walking and heard a pop. I had to put less pressure on that foot almost immediately. I have crutches so I used them. Your teaching is so on point. I wish I’d known that waiting to have the surgery could cause a fracture.

This surgery is not there yet if it's true this is a common problem. Why have a major surgery on your foot only to have to wear shoes all the time to feel relief. The biomechanics of the foot simply have not been corrected if that's the case.

It's not a matter of the "surgery not being there yet", it's that the foot is a very complicated mechanical structure. They only reason to do surgery is to eliminate pain that could not be eliminated with conservative treatment. Some people will still need to wear shoes and orthotics to be painfree. If they can then do the activities they care about without pain then the surgery was a success - whether or not they need shoes to be pain free after surgery. Here is detailed information on how to treat bunions - including how to eliminate pain without surgery and home treatment options. www.footankle.com/bunions/

I have to have bunion surgery within 2-3 weeks and while the bunion is being fixed they have to replace a bone that I accidentally shattered into 6 pieces at a hotel

Best of luck with your surgery. Most patients find that using orthotics after surgery will help them get back to full activity faster.
