Our local vet charges £900 for dog tooth extraction; the vet fees now are beyond extortionate and the money doesn't go to the vets but to the wide boys that have created the monopolies.

You need to sue the vets that done the spay! This is the second dog I've heard of this happening too in a few weeks! 🤬 what the hell are they playing at! Incompetent vets that charge the earth! Thankyou for saving beautiful Bella ❤

On the subject of vets,my dog had cancer and i was taking him for chemo every 3 weeks for 6 months at a cost of £600 a session,2 months before the end of his treatment the insurance limit had been reached and when i said that i will be paying myself for the rest of the treatment it dropped to £300 a session, just goes to show how they inflate the prices for insurance claims but pleased to say the treatment worked and we had another 7 years together.I wish your girl a speedy recovery and many happy years together.

my son and his wife had their oldest dog put to sleep two weeks ago, she was 12 years old, their eldest daughter is 8, and the younger {twin} brother and sister are six, she was a massive part of the family it devastated the all of them so much so the effect pets have on the family i know can't be understated so fair play to you and the time,love and money you've invested in a dog you've obviously grown to love so quickly. well done sir, i hope you many years more to enjoy with your family👍👍👍👍

James. Beware of engine flushes with the Ecoboost engine. I had a Focus with the 1.0 Ecoboost that had a full Ford service history, stamped up with receipts where the engine failed at 85,000 miles. It had flushes at each service and the explanation given to me was the flush caused the wet belt to degrade quicker than normal with bits of belt rubber blocking the oil strainer starving the top of the engine of oil. A new Ford engine was fitted making a great car again but it’s food for thought. Regards, Dave

Fantastic news about the dog. Pleased for you mate. I was in South Africa on holiday when I got a call that my large dog was in emergency vets due to them having gastric torsion. Longest journey home I have ever had. He survived after surgery.

Yep, fully understand, we'd do anything to make sure our dog is healthy. Our Frenchie had complications from a surgery and she needed a trip to an emergency vet to fix, €1400 later and she was saved, a very close call apparently. Hope Bella is doing well, she landed on her feet.

Definitely right with the ecoboost it’s an engine that you can’t neglect it’ll run forever if it’s serviced properly with the exact engine oil ford recommend I’m on my 3rd focus with an ecoboost engine and always serviced properly and my last one I sold with 160k and not a bit of bother🤷‍♂️

People expect perfection in a used car now! My first car a rusty old dented Citroen lasted years!

Once paid £1,500 for my cat to be treated at a vets had to go on installments as on limited income She lived on for another 8 years before she crossed the rainbow bridge She lived until she was 19 years old & was a family member Even the grandchildren loved her even though she was not keen on them 🙂

One of our dogs had a septic womb (common if they’re not spayed) there’s a name for it I can’t remember what it was let alone spell it, she had an emergency operation and with everything else £1,300 we weren’t insured and she’s now 13 so average £20 a month that would of been over 3k plus the insurance would probably say that the operation isn’t covered

You want to get into blowing bits in with your proper spray gun mate, I've just done all 4 corners on a Peugeot, 8 quid for base coat, 2k clear and fade out thinners, so all done for like 15 quid, dead easy. Save you a fortune.

It's belt you need to look at on the eco, check its not gone bitty, it's the belt degrading that blocks strainer up

Back in 1979 when our son was 7 and before I had my own business, the dog we bought for his 6th birthday became chronically ill so much so that I had to take a P/T job driving private hire cars at the weekend to pay the vets bills-carried on for approx 3 months (secretly enjoyed the job). We nearly lost our Dog a few years back, when she got poisoned. The bill was thousands and although the insurance paid out most of it, the premiums went through the roof. We just had to pay ourselves recently, when she needed an eye operation after getting poked in the eye. Unfortunately it’s part of having a pet and as you say, they are part of the family so you do what you can for them. Hope Bella makes a full recovery soon.

Did they ever 'fix' the eco-boom 1.0 engines? I know they adjusted them slightly, but still have the wet belt. Does the 1.5 (150 and 180) have similar issues with the wet belt? I haven't had a Ford for a while now, would be interested if anyone has any info about newer cars (2020 onwards) for when I'm replacing our current cars.

Bought a mitsubishi lancer 2010 from a car dealer & it was a nightmare.Traded in my MK1 Skoda vrs for a straight swop & car was 3 weeks late still has advisories on MOT & came with a leaking fuel tank & covered in crisps n stickiness all inside.Thats the car trade in Scotland for you.
