Awesome! lol I'm imagining your poor wife in the house saying "why every time we get a decent car, he just cuts it up and puts ridiculous wheels on it?" haha
I don’t think rust is as big of a issue in Alabama as anywhere else in the rust belt. In my area it would be rusting as soon as you cut it lol basically
They do it for the audience. For people who want to get wheels and tires. We can see what we are up against. I am sooo glad I saw this. I just bought 33’ with a -44 offset. Plus i have a 3 inch level kit. I am glad i wont have to do all this work.
Get yourself a tire iron under the tire when it's in place (roll it onto the tire iron) & simply lift the tire & wheel up to the desired height. I'm a retired transport operator & doing the semi truck wheels this is how we lifted them into place. Love your vids. Billy J...... Queensland, Australia.
"this is my floorpan, it's in the way so let's move it" next it'll be 'this is my chassis, it's in the way so let's get rid of it' 😂 this isn't whistlindiesel where you destroy things lmao
Lol I would normally ask why, but this is Built. Best way to put on a big tire(military 32s)is barely have it off the ground and use your feet on each side while sitting and pry it up it one motion(same technique to slowly spin to line lugs holes) . Or 2nd method on mud/newer chevy 22s have the hub stomach high, Wheel against your knees, spokes out. Grab the bottom spokes, leverage off your thighs and stand up as it flips around in one motion and rest on the disk, you'll get good and hit the lugs dead on.
Get a long pry bar and put it centered under the hub. Roll the tire onto the bar and lift the bar. Use the leverage to get the tire up high enough to push into place.
The big mud tires certainly made a difference looks way better. Nice video... Nice Titan, your MPH speed reading is going to be off from now on and your gonna use more fuel plus you cant carry anything heavy Without your tires rubbing but at least your happy with how it looks and its offroading performance. Mine has a 6inch lift CST suspension and it was already done when i got it i carried a ton of gravel the other day still had clearance from tires to bed and driving was really smooth. I got it with bald 33" mickey thompson mud terrians on 22" fuel rims. I recently bought a set of Toyo open country mud terrian new tires 33x12.50R22 it was $1800 plus $200 installed its expensive like you said and i quickly noticed my speed meter now is off by 5-7 mph reading lower on my truck but higher on radars and google maps im using way more gas also and im hearing the humming on the freeway from beefy thread. But i still love how it looks and even in 2wd i can make it through steep hills i couldn't before.
Next time you can use a long breaker bar or a jack pole to lift those heavy tires. Just put breaker bar underneath the rotor and roll your tire onto breaker bar and just lift to adjust. Less struggle and pain, but nice truck.
NOOOO I’m a Nissan Master Tech don’t listen offset wheels will DESTROY wheel bearings NOT help them!!!!!! And I can pull up my certification on NNANET if you don’t believe me!!! Offset is BAD for your truck...looks cool and gives a wider wheel base then the trucks designed for sometimes it’s necessary while lifting a vehicle because the wheels will rub on the inner edge of the wheel well or even on the brake lines!! Don’t give out miss information man!!
It’s looking good! My opinion; cut that rear fender a little higher. I think it will balance the look a little better and you’ll need more clearance than that for wheeling. Also, go get some black door seal molding from Lowe’s/Home Depot and put on all your cut edges. Will give it a finished look and keep your kids from slicing off a hand... I know you got more to come still. I recommend building a new front wheel well. Good Job!
Advice for putting your wheels on. Get a big, like 5 foot, pry bar. Put it under the wheel and use it to leverage the wheels on. Did that all the time when I worked on tractor trailers.
Love the green aspect of those tires, well done for doing the research! I have always really appreciated your ability to re-use, fabricate your own, or modify something to make work instead of buying new or wasting materials. Keep it up man, love the channel and the work you put in!!
For this big heavy wheels/tire removal/install, grab just one of those hydraulic pump up wheel jack dollies and use it to lift the tire up to your lug nuts. Lots easier than struggling yourself or with a friend.
Just got some 33s on some 20s with a -44 offset. I am on a leveling kit. I was worried I was gonna have to do all kinds of stuff like this. I see that I won’t have to now maybe a little trim here and there a little beating here and there nothing at this level thank you for your video, sir
Lovely Dirt Dragon you’ve made there. I have a 2007 Titan and was contemplating how far I need to go to modify it to keep a low center of mass but fit at least 35’s-37’s on it. Right now it’s sitting on 33” Treadwright Axioms with 2” of lift from Bilsteins up front. I want to add 2” more on the front to achieve a slight back rake, and keep the rear at stock height. I’m missing the look and off-road performance of the Treadwright Guard Dogs I used to have; wish they still made those. I’m thinking I may need to modify the bed/wheel wells to get the full articulation.
Already 2 questions 1. What car is that behind the MGB? 2. What happens if you get a flat tyre, are you carrying a spare tyre, the price made my eyes water lol.
Man, that pick up turn up good, but be careful about 2 things. the shocks and bearings, they will be over soon because of the weight of that tires, so maybe you should upgrade, the second one is, on rainy days you be drifting a lot! that kind of tires they don´t handling very well on wet road. keep up!
Hi great job...exactly what I needed to see...especially the taking the first piece you cut and transfer to passenger side...little detail that was helpful. Oh did I see a Datsun in the background? Thanks from Minnesota, working 1993 Chevy
Put a shovel under the wheel and you can lever it up into position by pushing down on the handle with your foot (or knee if you are crouched) leaving both hands free to steer the wheel on to the studs... As you get older you have to find less painful ways to do jobs, because your back is knackered from not knowing these tips when you were younger 😂😂
i love your approach with this. remember back when B is for Build got these for his FJ cruiser. i’m pretty sure Gingium did too for his adventure bus. BIFB had a positive experience, only complaint was road noise and fuel economy which is expected with tyres like these. think Gingium had a blow out. guess it’s an alright tyre but i’m interested to see your experience with treadwright.
I'm just leaving a comment because this is the last regular guy doing non regular things that us regular guys just want to do while taking care of his family!
That's how its done in Alabama yo. nice start to finish rare footage. it looks fuc___ Krazy raunchy. Tail gate moto "ALABAMA SLAMMAH" or "REDNECK RIPPER" or "I thought it was a suggestion" if you put a 3" leveling kit (inexpensive) on your titan you'd have fender clearance. you still need that for wheel travel.
I have used remould tires before within 100 miles one blew out nearly blowing a front fender off, the problem with these types of tires is that if they are not manufactured correctly and the bonding of the new tread to the old casing is not a 100% the delamination takes place and the tread come off the tire when they get hot, so I would not use these on the freeway, for mud use yes no problem. From all the problems and cutting that you did a lift kit for the truck would not have taken more work, it would have added extra clearance as the truck currently will still catch on the sheet metal during axle articulation.
Remember for anyone not paying attention they might have even said it in the video but your rear tire will travel forward when the suspension is compressed so you need good clearance. The front i know he cut and hammered like crazy but it’s still not enough travel for that 37s.
They're called a Nissan Navara here in Australia, watch out for the timing unless you want to spew a bunch of smoke out your arse every time you put your foot down while driving.
My truck got wrecked because somebody really had to turn left while I was going through an intersection. I cut off all the body from the top of the arches forward. Now I'm thinking I could cut the back arches and stuff some 35's under it and make it a toy. Never thought to cut the back until this video 🤣
Tip when I put the 35s-40s on my truck is to sit ass flat on the ground and use my toes if possible or my knees if too heavy to raise the tires for me, saves your back and you can twist the tire a bit to help line up the studs that way and use your hands as a guide that way..
#Builtofficial For future reference? Advice from the trucker. Use a long crowbar under the tire. 🤣 makes it a whole lot easier. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Also being that the tires are recaps make you keep an eye on them for any separations especially when it starts getting hot in the summer. I know you’ve seen the big af strips of tires AKA Gators on the interstate. 9 times out of 10 those are also recaps. You REALLY don’t want and especially on the front. Very very dangerous. That’s why any trucker with any sense never puts them on the front.
Things to watch for on recaps. You can see a lip of rubber on the sidewall just below the tread. And it could be on the inside or outside or both. Try to not take too long road trips that are interstate speeds if you can help it and they might last for a while. Highway/interstate speeds whichever side blows and your going that direction and can easily roll it.
