My name is Austin, this is Mopar Garage, and we build cool stuff in here! Today we are going over a couple upgrades to the tool fleet, re-installing the missing trim on the Shelby Daytona (which we are VERY lucky to have), and grinding away the remaining pieces of the old subframe so that a fabricator can come in and add some strength to the mounts!

Keep going man you're doing great. Too bad about the subframe mounts but I'm sure you'll find a solution. Your car is much better than my 85 turbo z so I anticipate I'll have the same or worse problems.

I've considered using the gorrilla stuff myself a few times. Wondered how well it worked. I've always used the 3M VHB tape on emblems and moldings.

So far so good! I used the 3M stuff on my blue 2nd gen to re-attach the emblems after I painted it. That stuff works decent. Nothing seems to last like the magical unobtanium that is used from factory though!

It's good that none of the mouldings were missing. As you said, they're pretty much impossible to find. None are missing on my 84' Turboz but I've been looking for NOS ones to replace them and pretty much impossible to find. I've only located one door in all the years I've been looking so far.

I got pretty lucky! The door molding was sitting in the car when I got it so I knew about it, but I thought the passenger front fender was gone. I was so pumped to find it in the back seat in a sandwich bag the other day!

It's not a Shelby Daytona, the Shelby Moniker didn't get used on daytona's until 87. The did use the C/S moniker as a badge package and it's not really "Rare".

I had the same car, 1986 T top C/S Turbo Z lost it to rot due to leaking t tops and salt (circa 20006/07 scrapped in 08/09). Now have an 87 Shelby Z.

C/S Stands for Carroll Shelby. It was a handling package with a different steering rack, struts, sway bar, and wheel/tires. Only 17,595 Turbo Z’s were built in 1986. Only about 9,000 of which were the C/S model. Even less with T-tops and leather. Now, only a small fraction of them are still on the road because most were neglected and/or rotted away. I consider that pretty rare.

@@TheMoparGarage Yes handling package, the car was not considered a Shelby. Carrol Shelby had nothing to do with the early daytona's Dodge was just licensed to use his name sake. Good luck with the car, I'd love to have another Turbo Z sans T-tops as they are a nightmare.
