This is awesome for you, it took brain surgery for me to lose from 175 to 145 3 years ago. I still don’t know how I did it but the surgery somehow changed my metabolism. I was exercising and eating ringtones and could not lose the weight. Surgery to remove a mass inside my skull changed that! And even my doc wasn’t sure why. But, like you, I feel great and have kept it off for 2 years. It was exciting to buy new clothes that fit and were NOT blouses over tank tops and slacks. You will have such fun shopping and recreating YOURSELF IN NEW STYLES styles. YOU GO GIRL! YOU DESERVE IT !!!

The struggle is real. I found a free podcast called Brain Over Binge by Kathryn Hansen. It was super enlightening and helpful. The episodes are short and to the point. Basically, dieting and restricting really messes a lot of us up. I spent a year just getting rid of the guilt, shame, and secret eating. I switched to making healthier choices most of the time. I'm working on tuning in to my hunger and fullness cues. It's definitely a process! Be kind to yourself while you work on your journey. (I need to change this profile pic. It's from when I did an extreme diet lol. The regain was very humiliating.)
@lzeph
@lzeph 4 года назад
@@jeanetteh.9240 I'd just like to note here that even people who don't tolerate fasting (due to blood sugar or other issues) can do intermittent fasting simply by not eating anything after dinner and waiting until mid morning to eat breakfast. It's not easy to do, especially for those of us who like to snack at night, but just one success with it can lead to more successes. Been slowly but steadily losing weight for a couple of years now, and I haven't done intermittent fasting until recently -- it was just too big of a step for me when I first heard of it. For me, the best strategy has been to make only one, small change at a time, and to make sure it's a change I can successfully incorporate into my general habits. Nothing extreme, and I keep with that one change until it's no longer a new thing - it's become a habit that I don't even have to think about any more - and then I move on to the next small change. It is really slow going, but it beats all heck out of continuing to gain weight year after year.

I had Lap-Band 14 years ago. I was 293 at the time and have kept most of the weight off over the years. I lost over 120 of those pounds. At this point I have to lose about 10 lb which isn't bad considering how much I started out at so long ago. Good luck to you, your health is worth it.

I had an RMY in 2011. It was the best and worst thing I did. I’m a size 6 ish and was at 228 at my highest. Don’t forget to rest when you need to, it takes a while to recover. I had my gall bladder removed at the same time and it was the hardest thing to recover from.

Can you never eat a full meal again? Or is this during a transition phase? I’m glad you survived! Thanks for the update as I know nothing about this topic.

Your new pouch will stretch and about 2 months later you can eat a meal just much smaller. About 1-2 cups of food.

Congratulations Cass, that's a huge, responsible step you took! I was with a guy for 5 years who had had bypass surgery. The biggest lesson was to learn to take small bites and eat s l o w l y ! Please take care of yourself for now and forever. You have helped so many of us so let us know when you need help or encouragement from us. Peace and love.

Kudos. I am so proud of you!! I have looked in to this process. I was about to pull the trigger on the surgery.. and do no out. Had colon cancer. That was 18 months, I lost well got. However I have seance found most of what I lost. I am thinking the sleeve rather than the Ryu &Y.. you are encouraging. Thanks and GOD bless you!

You're lucky they did surgery at that starting weight. Most doctors probably wouldn't do it. You were not that big at all to begin with.
