I HATE Scott Pilgrim Vs The World

Yeah Scott Pilgrim is probably Edger Wright's weakest film in my opinion.

this movie is SO painfully 2010, from the unironic manic pixie dream girl (as you pointed out) to the casual r-slur. but i absolutely loooooved this movie when it came out. i was 15 in 2010 and at least for me, there was nothing else like it. i thought the characters (besides Scott lol) we’re all so interesting and cool and ~adult~. but, yeah, it doesn’t hold up as a rewatch unfortunately. the original creator released an animated series on Netflix kind of poking fun at all the character flaws of Scott and Ramona and gives Knives the story she deserves. i’d be curious what you’d think about that having never been a fan of the original.
