I wrote stories as a kid too. Stapled the pages together. I drew a few bad illustrations for it. And my dad was so excited and proud he made copies and handed them out to the whole family. I was so happy. Gave me a lot of confidence! He has since passed away but one day I'll pass my stories around worldwide...and dedicate it to him...📚📝🖋📑
When I was writing a story for school, my Dad gave me such a good advice that I don't think I will ever forget: There's no such thing as perfect writing, there's only perfect rerewriting. I think that's word-for-word but you get the jist of it.

I think another good person to have read your book and annotate it is Merphy Napier. She's very analytical. I know she reads fantasy and she picks apart books so well. Like I've read a book (well I've read many, lol) and there are things that I didn't like or something that made the story suffer and she totally pin points it. Like I'm listening to her and saying "that's the problem I had with the book" or "Yeah, that is true!" (because I didn't see it till now, but she's right). Just a thought. I don't remember if I wrote stories when I was young. I remember in grade five they asked what I wanted to be when I grow up and I always said author. In junior high I started writing poetry. I have things / thoughts in mind that I want to expand.I don't even remember what made me want to become an author when I was that young, I just remember for most of my life that's what I have always wanted to do. My mom even wants me to write about her experiences at work and bring awareness to what the kids go through. She's a care coordinator helps kids who have abused or around their parents getting abused in some way, or their parents using drugs. Even her supervisor thought it was a good idea that I write it too. Also this video was so inspiring and makes me want to work on writing again.
Congrats for the agent! I am so glad you went with twin travel novel because I don't really read fantasy, but really want to read something by you! And I know maybe it doesn't sound good, but it is relieving to know your teacher told you that you would never write a book, my high school teacher told the same to me and then last year I've selfpublished my first novel and I am working on its translation and its sequel. It feels good to know I am not alone! Never quit dreaming, no matter what people say! ❤️ Can't wait to be able to buy "twin travel" 🤩
It was cool hearing how you chose which one to query! In my case, I’m going to write and query my fantasy story first because I know how that one will progress and I know my other stories will be set in a nonfantasy world and span a lot more stories than the fantasy one!

I was thinking about that, currently writing a book too. It’s weird but we don’t have book agents here in Quebec. You write a book, than send it to publishing houses directly and when one in interested in you book, you sign a contract and work with their team. It would be so much easier if we had agents too to help during this big step.

When you were talking about the love interest I kind of spaced out for a second and I thought you said it was YOUR love interest. I was like that’s a weird way to phrase it but it is Hailey. Then I realized my mistake and felt like an idiot XD I’m so glad you got this big first step! I don’t usually read contemporary but I know I will read any book you write regardless of its genre.

Hailey, I’m ten years old I discovered writing and Harry Potter when I was 9. (Best year ever) We had to write a Halloween story last October. The rest of the year I was begging to do one but we never did and I was enraged to say the least. I really want to become an author I just need to read more of a variety of books and topics. I picked up my first YA today also finished it today. I’m still really young and when I was writing that Halloween story. I noticed the second smartest girl in my class ( The first being me obviously 😂) was not using any speech marks or anything and I just wondered is this what other ten or nine year olds are like. I didn’t even get to finish it because I got sick I had abruptly end it which I was sad about. If anyone reads this I’ll be surprised because I’ve basically wrote a paragraph. -An Irish 10 year old
