For any new people that are gonna be interested in getting into MVC2, a word of caution. You are going to lose just from the difficulty of moving alone. You will run into someone that hasn't put the game down since its release, and get absolutely decimated. Keep queuing up, hitting rematch, and don't get discouraged. There will be those players that will blatantly beat you down trying to get you to quit the game for good. We don't accept those people as truly part of our community. All of this to say I'm nearly four years in, and I've thought of quitting several times. Once you get over the initial hurdle of learning the game it will be some of the most fun you've ever had. Also the most rewarding game I've ever played. Catch y'all on the Clocktower stage.
I have played mvc2 since 2000s. And when this was released on Xbox I would beat people with lockdown, infinites and 100% combos with jugg glitch. And got so much hate mail, and no matter how I replied with advice or not, the main takeaway was the way I ruined the game for them the way i played. It was always classic scrub mentality they lost because I was doing some bullshit I shouldn't be allowed to do and needed to fight with honor. In an online environment most people don't want to get better through practice and will just quit the game
Hopefully there will be so many people in ranked this won't be an issue. All the 25+ year veterans will rise to the top and the rest of us can play at the bottom lol
spamming lasers w cable has always been a pretty good strategy tbf, like actually doing it at the higheset level and timing assist calls and such is harder but still
Well i'm not a Marvel fans and i personally don't want a new Marvel game. But i'm still gonna buy this collection to support Marvel community and add the chance for MvC 4. Although, i did the same for Capcom Fighting Collection and so far there's no new Darkstalkers game >.
Buying this will prove nothing and capcom doesn’t care they want your money then will never touch vs games gonna keep playing Capcom games for free, dog ass company
I'm moreso hoping if (BIG IF) they made a new MvC that they wouldn't lean super hard in MCU just because of aesthetics rather than roster. MCU having Xmen and F4 is SO nice since it means we PROBABLY won't have a repeat of MvCI functions, but I would still be pretty let down if the designs feel more like the modernized MCU way costumes look rather than comic book costumes. Again though, *big* if on whether that kinda concern ever even matters, lmao. Cool time for versus gamers coming up either way!
It is big copium, but with X-men ´97 revitalizing the original designs just _maybe_ they see the interest that's still very much there for that era of X-men. I think if MvC ever happens again they'll go with the original comic book designs because they've demonstrated that they're more timeless than their live action counterparts.
Still in the realm of copium, but I can't help but think that they have SOMETHING ready to drop at Evo, because I can't think of anyother reason as to why they didn't show it off there
@@Dasaltwarrior My hopium is that we get something at EVO now but if we dont I wont be surprised since this was a huge deal already. I'd love for them to announce an update to UMvC3. Even just for rollback. would be huge.
Just hope that when we get the CvS Fighting Collection someday that it has crossplay and that things like this can get updated with Crossplay. These older games desperately need a version with rollback and the ability for anyone on any platform to easily find games.
I'm not a fans of Marvel Versus games. I never even had the chance to play MvC 1 & 2, although i did enjoyed played X-Men COTA and Marvel Super Heroes. But i'm still gonna grab this collection, not just to support Marvel community to get MvC 4 but for my Capcom collection too. Plus, i love The Punisher. Played the s*it out of it with my friends on Arcade and Sega Genesis.
This dropping in a Nintendo direct completely caught me off guard easily the best reveal of the show this is huge !!!! Mv2 is finally free!😭🙂↕️ this collection is peak 10/10
I'm not even a big fan of the older Marvel games - played some MvC2 on my 360 in the run-up to Marvel 3's launch, nothing more - but I will happily buy this if there's any chance it could help get them to decide to either: A) Make MvC4. Or B) Add SF6's rollback (and crossplay please) to UMvC3. Either as an update to the re-releases or as a new release, I don't care which.
Per MVC1 : 4p CROSS FEVER MODE from Dreamcast MVC1 …. Hope they included that !!!!! Also coming soon hopefully : STREET FIGHTER 3 COLLECTION !!!!! Featuring : All 3 titles and all revisions/versions of each. All available in normal or WIDESCREEN. Widescreen mode opens up entire new strategies, and even possible parallel WIDESCREEN tournaments, with different tier lists. And toggle between their original OST’s and Arranged OST’s (PS2 Arranged 3rd Strike OST is highly underrated) (SF3: New Generation Arranged Album is also highly underrated/under-appreciated) Ability to play stages/theme-songs from NG, 2i, or 3s, in the other entries. For example: Playing WIDESCREEN 3rd Strike, on Elena’s 2i “Night Bridge” stage with that dope “Tomboy” song. Or WIDESCREEN 3rd Strike, on Necro’s 2i train lab stage, with that dope DNB song. CANNOT WAIT !
Hopefully this sells well enough to get Marvel/Disney to suck it up and actually properly bury the hatchet with Capcom so we can get a new MvC that isn't Infinite. Personally, I'd love something like Smash Ultimate where the roster is just "everyone who's ever been in the franchise". Also wouldn't mind some new non-versus Marvel games from Capcom...
Now I need that Capcom Vs SNK Fighting Collection and Capcom 3D Fighting Collection.....and hell, if Arika is down with it, a Street Fighter EX Fighting Collection.
I'm not gonna lie I'm a little salty there's no xbox release. Haven't played marvel superheros or mvc2 since I was a little kid and the games were delisted on the 360 before I could get a hold of them.
One thing people aren’t talking about is the casual scene for these games. Breathing new life into these games will be FANTASTIC. As someone who is interested in getting into mvc2 and doesn’t enjoy getting absolutely slammed on fightcade, having new blood is sick
Max said if they showed MvC4 at Evo everyone in the venue will be crying like an MJ concert in the 80s. Only part he's wrong about is that way more people than are in the venue would be crying. I'd need a sports drink afterwards to not faint from dehydration and I'll be on the other side of the country
Honestly I def think a new Marvel game will happen. The fact that not only are the versus games on there, but the games Capcom made for Marvel are too (X-Men: CotA, Punisher, etc.) makes me think they’re down to work together again. Especially now that Capcom is putting guest characters in Street Fighter.
The ART FLOOD of characters that haven't seen mainstream appeal in the full force of Art Twitter age is a sight to see.....I have seen more Spiderman/Morrigan art that a man could possible need in a lifetime
Amidst all the hype I'm trying to keep my expectations in check. The Switch version will most likely have input lag in MvC2. Frankly I'm surprised the Switch can emulate Naomi at all. But I'm hoping for a solid experience on PC and PS5.
If this game was really Switch exclusive, Nintendo would've won the century. Also, Love how much respect Cyclops is getting now because of X-Men 97, it's about damn time!
@@iggydadawg9712 And probably wouldn't have rollback. I'm not sure there's any fighting game on the switch that has rollback, even when the same versions have it on other platforms.
if they make a game where i can play goldlewis and aba at the same time, ill buy it in an instant. they did mention something about a coop thing in strive but idk what that is. i just wanna mash my guard crush until someone dies, and then mash my OTHER guard crush on my next character.
The only downside of this collection, is that my feed is gonna be filled with videos of people getting hit by infinites in every game lol. Probably half with the "patented low-damage" memes etc.
Everyone can now play... Then why is there no Xbox One logo in the trailer? Wonder how much Sony had to pay Capcom this time. God, can't wait for all of their live service games to flop and for them to file chapter 11 so the industry can finally move past their exclusivity agreement nonsense.
I'm not even the biggest fan, but MvC1 and Megaman X4 were the first games of the first console I owned as a kid, so ofc I'm emotional about this. This is tight, specially for the people who love that type of game. I just hope the collection is on par with Fightcade emulation this time. I was interested in where MvCI was going gameplay-wise, so I also hope this means something for the future.
There's seven different games in one disc and the game is for the Playstation 4 and 5 and switch and PC 🖥 and the game is coming out for 12-31-24 OK THANKS please remember that OK THANKS.
My new mental image for whenever Capcom delivers Marvel stuff is a surly, jaded Disney executive sitting in a bar with a Capcom representative, being shown a video of Maximilian Dood popping off, and having a Grinch-esque redemption epiphany as he whispers, "For the fans..."
I don't really get it... these have been available on mame and other emulators for years alongside just about every KOF game and you can play them online. You could also play 1p + 2p vs 3p + 4p back in the day with each controlling 1 character on mvc and others.
