I have issues with the gopro Hero 11 black creator Edition.

Ive used the 9 and 11 heaps and now have no issues with either. The stopping and recording delays are probably due to your SD card. Use the highest spec card you can get. I had some issues when I first got the camera then changed to a Sandisk Extreme Pro and now have no delays in writing, no repair messages etc. Batteries are another issue, as is overheating on 4k. I use the volta without the internal battery and have no overheating issues. I tried the media mod and external mics and finally decided that for camping vids, to ditch the media mod and mic and just use the internal mics, with a foam windslayer. I hope this helps.

Hi Dan. I'm still using my Gopro Hero2. I bought two of these when they first came out, and honestly, I have never had any issues at all with them. These cameras have been absolutely brilliant. They have been used for underwater filming, and one of them became detached from a remote-controlled aircraft, which was doing limited acrobatics. The aircraft was limited in its capability because the Gopro didn't help with its aerodynamics, and both of the cameras have at one time or another become detached from my motorbike. So they've been battered about a bit. Over the years, I've contemplated updating them. However, after watching reviews on newer models, but due to the problems that so many people have had, I'll stick to what I've got because they work fine. Anyhow, I hope the problem doesn't hinder you too much. See you soon. 👍

Sorry to learn you and others have issues with this manufacturer. Given its purpose and price the manufacturers should sort firmware problems out. People with too much money just upgrading is the maker get away with a shoddy product. Hope you find a better replacement.

I've been using GoPro since the hero 3, Fantastic cameras and still use the hero 10 in my vlogs but it's not may main camera, I use a Sony ZV-1 so mix and match the Sony, Hero 10 and DJI Drone and it's a good combination.

I have had the same problems with my Hero 9. Lost so many clips due to the camera freezing up. Not long ago, I made a video testing out my new hammock, and wanted to show people how I set it up. But the whole clip of that got lost. It's really demotivating to continue filming when you know stuff like that can happen any time.

I agree go pro have many issues with each model but I still keep replacing them with a new go pro

The read/write speed of the memory card is so important, it causes so many issues if it is not quick enough! I had issues with a previous version of a GoPro freezing up I had a class 10 card like GoPro recommend but not all class 10s are equal.....I changed it for a faster card and never had a problem again.

I quit using gopros because of these issues, I can cope with some issues, but losing footage isn’t an option.. so I went back to my phone which can record in higher quality than I need for youtube, and its one less thing to carry because I will have my phone anyway.. plus I edit in lumafusion on my ipad which means if I use my phone all my footage is automatically there like magic, no need to mess around transferring it off the gopro which can take ages

I've had mine a month, over heating and the battery's wouldn't work, I'm sending mine back after my nephews christening yesterday it turned off and I couldn't record properly. There is definitely an issue.

Only used my Hero 9 a few times since I had it from new. The light sensor is still shockingly poor so it's still not great in poor light conditions and the first time I used it on a bike mount it decided to keep switching itself off.

I always had problems with corrupt footage bad audio, best thing I changed was the batteries I only use the white enduro batteries now never use the blue ones not had a problem since 👌

DJI Pocket 3 is due out. I wonder if that's worth a look, especially in the studio

I have had Go Pro 11 for a few months, no issues and really like it.. but there is deffo some faulty 1s out there because a few people have had issues like this

My Gopro has these issues from time to time. I've found charging the unit before just before use or a hr or so before helps a lot, don't know why tho 👍

Ive been using the Hero 9 now for a year. Shooting 5-10 minute videos at 4K and 30FPS and never had the problems you've encountered Dan. Not even over heating. Like you I also use the media mod but with a Ride Wireless Go. The only issue I have is that occasionally it will turn itself on again once Ive turned it off. Which is a bit of a faff but one I can live with by removing the battery between filming locations.

Love my Hero 8, had it for four years now, I use it a lot and hardly any problems.

To be honest Dan, I think the audio is better on your phone. It’s a richer sound than the mic on your go pro gives you. Perfectly adequate though. Just personal preference. (I used to be a professional sound engineer 👍🏻)

Regarding the battery draining, make sure you turn off Bluetooth. Made a huge difference to my hero 9 and I get really strong battery performance now. I heard the media mod can cause issues with overheating but GoPro is made to be an action camera on fast moving bikes etc where wind keeps it cool and not really a vlogging camera. The media mod adds heat regardless. I also heard but haven't had the issue itself, that the media mod can cause occasional freezing needing a reset. Try it without the media mod and just using the internal mic with wind reduction turned off and a foam windmuff (audio is much better that way Vs when wind reduction is turned on) and see how reliable it is. My guess is it'll solve some or all of the issues.

I considered getting a GoPro but then just settled on using my iPhone 🙈 It works and I can use iMovie and upload to RU-vid all in one. I use a Rode mic though.

I still got a Hero 3+ had since new still going strong no problems. What Gopro done to later models.

Go pros are the most overrated “action” cameras. Too many people have had too many problems. And that’s been the case with each version. And for the most part the company hasn’t done much to help. As for your battery draining too quick just turn off Bluetooth. Same for your phone. Bluetooth is a huge battery drain. Thanks for sharing. Take care and stay safe.

Hi Dan, I had a few problems with the Hero 7 I had, one problem was the sync between audio and video was out. There are youtuber videos on how to cure this. I found the hero7 was too clever for its own good so I went back to my hero 2 and 3 black. Had them years and never had a problem

I have a GoPro camera that I need occasionally for my business. Admittedly an older model but it has been a constant source of stress, sometimes not even switching on when I have a client with me. Lots of battery out, memory card out, holding buttons down, memory card & battery back in action and hope, much hope, that it sorts itself out to avoid too much embarrassment. Battery life also not good imo. Many spares to carry and even a quick recharge from a power bank at lunchtime as a safety net. This is just my personal experience and I feel it should have been a better one given the amount invested in the equipment.

I used a GoPro 4 for some time, eventually upgrading to GoPro 8. Happy with both. Great fun from each camera.

I use a GoPro 10 not had any problems i only use 128GB cards which can hold up to about 4hrs of 4K60 as for over heating i've never had a issue as i feel im using the camera and getting good airflow there is a way to turn on tripod mode and it is meant to help with the over heating if filming in one spot

Interesting and timely video, thanks. I was about to press 'buy' on a GP9, but then started to become aware of the technical issues. I was kind of hoping that it would be my 'one camera doe all' for outdoor stuff, but having seen your video and others, I'm not so sure. Quite a few people are suggesting other brands (including DJI), but looking at them in more detail they all have limitations. Decisions, decisions... NUTS!

Same old problems with go pro's. Got the DJI Action 3. Its brilliant.

I got my 11 right after it came out, so far I've had none of those problems. My Enduro battery records for the length of time gopro rates them for. Longer than my gopro 8. I'd switch rather than fight if I were u.😅

Hiya Dan, I believe that it's well documented over the years that GoPro tend to release products that are amazing when they work but they have quirks that cause frustration. I have the Hero 6 Black great when it works but damn annoying when you get home and you can't get your clips back. Problem is enough of us will still buy them and that doesn't give GoPro any incentive to make sure they don't release products until they have been properly tested... Good video

I’ve got a GoPro 3 black and struggle to get on with it. I find the the footage on my iPhone 13 is better and easier to edit using iMovie on my phone, takes an age to get footage off the go pro app. I think your phone video and Audio was better off your phone, I could see a difference once you switched to the go pro.

Do you have a decent memory card? It's not size but speed. I get the occasional freeze but the camera always repairs the files and nothing is lost.

Ibe been looking at getting a gopro, but they just seem to be full of problems, not what you want from a £400 camera

I've been quite lucky with mine so far, however i've found even with the "extended battery" its still maybe an hour or two tops and its dead, not idea if your wanting to do a night time time lapse etc i didn't go for the creator one though, just got the basic version

My dream camera is the Canon 90d. Much better than GoPro in quality but is heavier. If you don't like big heavy tripods there are some small carbon fibre ones.

My hero 9 won’t work with a external mic. Really disappointed with GoPro considering how well they’re regarded generally. And from what I’ve heard their customer support is pretty useless too.

What class/speed memory card are you using with the GoPro? What happened to the new Sony camera you bought? Did that have problems too?

Ive got a cheap Apeman action cam. Ive got a couple of them. Ive had them for 6 or 7 years. They do everything I need and if one has an unscheduled disassembly and dies in style... Its £50 not £400

Dan i have the 7 , 9 and 11 i must say the 11 is the better of the 3 i have but it dose have problems with freezing but the 9 is the worst of all the gopro's i have atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍

go pro has been flawed for years... always been at least one major issue with every version I've ever had .... switch to DJI

from what i see the go pros are overpriced tat, iv just ordered a wolfang g420 i think it is, with its rechargable stick, yea its a budget camera but seems a lot of folk that have it are happy

Go pro 7 is best I prefer over the GP 8 9 10. Never gave me any issues. I record 35 minutes vlogging on my motorcycle no problem.

GoPro has really gone downhill after the 8. For the amount of money paid, you'd think they'd function better. Mobile phone cameras work better than this dedicated camera. My 9 just stopped working period after 2 months. I skipped the 10 and reused my 3. I finally got the 11 Mini and so far no issues.
