Sorry to disappoint you, but Cape Point is not the place where the Indian and the Atlantic oceans meet. The real place is L'Agulhas at the most southern tip of Africa.

South Africa I hear is a beautiful country.

I live in Cape Town, we have our problems but it is not as bad as what the media says about the place. I am sure in places like New York, Paris or London you will also find some unsafe places. Just don't go there. Cape Town is the same. I have been born and brought up in South Africa and never been mugged.

The Indian and the Atlantic Oceans meet at Cape L'Agulhas which is a town about three and a half hours drive....very far away from Cape Point. It is a myth that the two oceans meet at Cape Point. At Cape of Good Hope close to Cape Point you will read it says "You are now at the most South-Western corner of the African Continent....,and not the most Southern point because that is at Cape L'Agulhas.

Hi, Simon's Town is named after Simon van der Stel the first governor of the Dutch colony (1691-1699). He is also the name giver and founder of Stellenbosch in the winelands. He was mixed race because his mother was a freed slave from Goa in India .Catonians like myself don't like to hear this but Cape Point is probably where the cold Benguela and the warm Agulhas currents meet. The Atlantic and the Indian oceans however, meet up north-east at Cape Agulhas.

Cape is OK, for real scenic drives, Mpumalanga, the drives between any cities in that region, mindblowing and Klarens, the Golden Gate highlands national reserve, by far the most scenic I have seen. As South African we don't see this because we have lived it our entire lives but those two places get me everytime

You've got it wrong. The oceans meet at Cape Agulhas, about 100 km from Cape Town!

The most scenic places I've been to... the incredibly wonderful national parks in the west of the USA: Glacier, Grand Teton, Yosemite, Zion, etc.

You can probably do some episodes on local food. You may have noticed food is a big thing in Asia (although not in UK).

The reason it's more expensive for foreign visitors is the the National Parks are largely funded by taxation, which the locals pay and you don't.

Mcdonald's is an American chain and are all over the world, but some of the food in menu are customized according to the country's preference.

Next time for any foreigner visting, just take time before hand to apply for a wilderness park card. Its a yearly fee but if you are coming for a months or more to travel you do not pay entry fees and stay at most of the hotels or lodges at a discounted price within the parks or natural wonders. Just a tip and the small saving goes a long way.

Well I used to live on False bay, and I have driven this road often. But I had one crazy trip on this road from Smitswinkle Bay to Simonstown. We were hitching home, and got a lift on a small rubbish truck. A short distance down the road a friend of ours driving a Mini Cooper overtook the truck, and the race was on. Two things, we would have been in the mini if he had got to us first, second we were not in the truck, but on a platform behind the cab with a chest high barrier to hang on to. Exciting does not describe it, more like unforgettable in that I would never do that again.

The point where the Indian Ocean and the South Pacific meet? Geography obviously isn't taught in UK schools.

Please don't mislead the public. This is not where the Indian and Atlantic Ocean meet. Cape Agulas is where it meets.

That's the Atlantic Ocean, two different currents meet at Cape Point. The two oceans meet at Cape Agulhas. The Atlantic on the western side and the Indian on the eastern side. Great video though.

Been lucky to have seen wonders of the world but by far is the victoria falls by a country mile,so natural with its huge wide falls,the river above with elephants and giraffes etc drinking and not a tourist insight ,toured south Africa twice with no trouble at all,shame you didn't stay longer in and countries on its borders you would of got a lot of blogs for your old channel before you moved on

As spectacular as Cape Point is, you’re unfortunately not where the 2 oceans meet. Bit further away actually. You need to go to L’Agulhas, not such a big tourist trap as Cape Point.

This is a lie which has been perpetuated for decades (especially to gullible tourists). There is confusion between currents and oceans. Just because warm currents moving down the East coast of the country meet icy currents coming up from Antarctica, does not mean that that is where the oceans meet. Oceans meet at a geographical point, namely the southernmost tip of Africa. Cape Agulhas not Cape Point. It doesn’t help that there are numerous business called Two Oceans in Cape Town as well as the “Two Oceans Marathon” but this is pure marketing hype. Cape Point is still a good place to visit as long as you realize that it is NOT the place where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet.

There is only one ocean, sea or water. We have given it different names in different areas around the world, but it is only one body of water on this planet and there is no meeting of any oceans due to it being one body of water. It is the same as when people say that they are going into space. There is no such thing, as this world of ours is already in space, so therefore because we are already in space you cannot go into space.
