Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is easily the most underrated player in Premier League history. What a player he was. Scored against top teams and many of them were amazing strikes. Finished top scorer despite playing for much inferior teams. Even in his 1 season at Atletico Madrid, they were relegated yet he still finished top scorer, scoring 2 amazing goals at the Bernebeau
Also was unlucky that in his prime the Dutch NT was stacked with world class strikers so he never got that many chances. Could use a player like him now though.
Jimmy's post mortem about why ordinary dad nearly beat him... "...he was 10 years younger than me...and i had a full breakfast that day....and i didn't get a good nights sleep...and i was wearing flip flops...and...and...and.."😂
Hated him when he was playing because he was Chelsea and always had a worldy against us! Even when he left them and went to Middlesbrough he always scored against us. Top player though, and boy could he finish. Seems like a nice bloke too.
One is number 10 the other is number 8. As his kids grow up jimmy tells them “what happened to you guys? You are having reserved numbers now, 24 and 26 ? You used to be 10 and 8.
Very talented striker back in his days if only Mourinho let him stayed instead of bringing in Kezman during the 04-05 season , still Drogba worked well with Gudjohnsen.
Actually if you pause it you will see that the other guy hadn't crossed the line yet as Jimmy's shoulders fly over the line. The perspective is misleading. The line isn't straight so while Jimmy appears behind the other runner, so is finish line further back for Jimmy.
It's about who's Torso cross the line first that's how track works Allyson Felix lost to Shaunae Miller-Uibo who did a similar gesture to Hasslebaink in Rio 2016 women's 400m.
