My favourite promotional film of the 1960s, featuring one of my favourite cars (and favourite pairs of driving gloves) in history, quickly edited to my favourite song of recent times. I think they work quite well together.
A řidič to samozřejmě umí. Takže ať žijou německé ksindly, kupujme je tupě dále, machrujme, a buďme na to náležitě pyšní, takové lhaní do kapsy umíme skvěle :-)
It's too bad that Tatra ended up on the wrong side during WWII and the Cold War. I can imagine Tatra being a competitor against Mercedes-Benz and Corvair here in the USA during the 1960s.
@@jasoncarpp7742 The USA and Europe car markets were separated in the postwar, USA went "bigger, better, faster, more" and Europe towards small, affordable. Protectionism and regulations did the rest, we couldn't get american cars in Europe, and american people couldn't get much european cars in the USA. Then japanese builders bothered to have cars apporved at both markets, and over time grew to dominate the world. Now the electric car will be a complete diferent deal, like starting over.
this was a lot of fun, and good match with the music. worked perfectly. the Tatra was a car ahead of its time and this ad demonstrates that. which model had the fin on the back? I know Jay Leno talked about that one and it being a "Nazi Killer."
Beautiful car and great video/track mix. I love Tatra's. Hans Ledwinka was a visionary. Had the pleasure of seeing my first Tatra a few years ago. A red T613 with Czech plates. A real rarity here in the UK.
nadherne video :-) je to skvely film o skvelom aute.. :-) Tatra patrila vzdy medzi najlepsich a Tatra 603 patrila vo svojej dobe medzi svetove spicky.., je velka skoda, ze jaltska konferencia este v case 2. sv. vojny rozhodla o rozdeleni europy a Ceskoslovensko bolo nanestastie zaclenene do ostbloku a s nim aj Tatra... :-( v kazdom pripade je Tatra 603 symbolom elegancie, sily a spolahlivosti... :-) teraz to tak nevyzera, no aj tak prajem znacke Tatra osud vtaka fenixa, tak good luck Tatra :-)
To policejní auto, co se zahrabalo do závěje, je ovšem taky Tatra. Je to Tatraplán kombi. Policejní motocykl je Jawa 500 OHC. Přehlídka české kvality.....
Skoda Superb was another Czech luxury car of the 1920s and 30s. Czechoslovakia was an advanced 'Western' nation before WW2. It had some of the best engineering companies in the world in the 1930s hence Hitler's desire to take them over preferably without a messy invasion, which he succeeded in doing. Czech pilots were among the best that served with the RAF during WW2.
Finally a car that LOOKS like its promotional pictures. How many cars have we seen that were long and swoopy until the real thing is on the streets and its short and blocky!
I just wish that the red communist shit never happened in Czechoslovakia. The country would be totally different, better if that never happened and such cars would be available for normal people and not only for top red C*. The car is awesome.
What an amazing film, and the music went well with it! I really love all the fishtailing that car did,I bet with modern radials it wouldn't be half as severe. I'd really love a chance at driving one of these fascinating cars sometime.
A ještě museli mít deset potvrzeních od předsedy KSČ, STB, ROH, jaký mají původ atd. Rudí papalášové byl nedotknutelní, obyčejnými lidmi pohrdali a přitom se jimi zaštiťovali.
You are fool my friend, because Tatra had survived a communist government, but not survived a new "captalism" management, firm has been stealed and leaved his own bitter end. Nobody has not interest for resurection of Tatra company, making new cars in this category, selling this cars abroad and Tatra was condemned by own nation for its alleged regime punction. That was nonsense. And finally, that for it was relatively expensive cars, and most of the Czechs pointed this in his dullnes...
What great cine!!! The ad really works, I want one! Super looking car, would make you smile every time. Great combination, tune/short, well done. Shame RU-vid drops and re-starts the connection 10-12 times each time I watch it..... Yawn...
Uzasne video!
I love tatra cars and have owned several. I'm watching a 1950 Tatraplan on ebay sell today. My all time favorite is the police t-600 in this video. Who and how additional footage herein came to be is to be commended.
Strašně vtipný, že jezdí jak dobytek. Něco podobného jako tihle: www.idnes.cz/hradec-kralove/zpravy/ford-mustang-spindleruv-mlyn-nehoda-vrchlabi-zavod-zavodnik.A190924_104516_hradec-zpravy_pos
I love this car, its design, its originality(ies), but this film is incredible for our eyes today: it's an apology for dangerous, irresponsible driving! What an era! Even in the East... Thanks for sharing it. It's a gem.
i love David Holmes and loved our road trip with T603 to France 2 years ago. 4000km in totall in July..all was great appart the heat(motor coped excellently) when you got all sweaty and the original fabrics on the seats was just pain in the ass! So itchy! 😀 ah, need to ride our 1972 baby again very soon!
