Of course murder was not the solution but what the story does not convey is that Amador continued to pursue Schmidt after the show had ended and the poor young man felt justifiably harassed. Yes he went nuts and overboard, but he was young and humiliated beyond what he was able to handle.

Ummmm, he made it clear that if it was a man then he wanted no part of it and the producer tells him don't worry we've spoken with her you have nothing to worry about. They lied not knowing how any person would react to this unwanted spotlight. He may have never hurt anybody otherwise yet this caused him to snap. People forget that even in the 90's it wasn't overly common to come out as gay in private much less on national television nor was it overly accepted. And I think he had breakdown. To me, this really seems like temporary insanity.
