Many thanks for sharing your experience. I got my 1000 W machine in December 2016. I have been using it daily since then *average 6 hours a day and 6 days a week* At that time our US friends did not even want to talk about Chinese machines. I m 67 now and I have some guys working for me, my work is mainly making quotations, preparing DXF file for Cypcut and managing the company. It was a very difficult experience because few information was available and the machine manufacturers did not have the culture of client support and documentation. Many videos were available here but useless since they just show a fiber laser machine cutting some metal pieces. I almost learned everything by myself and I will be glad to share my experience with any new comers to this field.

@panan7777
@panan7777 2 года назад
@@vivizhang6083 So far I have "finished" way too many chinese machines for my friends, having totally idiotic solutions, that I'll pass anything made in china. A friend bought an engraver, against my advice, come way more floppy than advertised and finally spent the same amount as he would on quality self made machine. Precision parts, motors, machining, are cheap these days and you KNOW what goes into the machine. Another could NOT get the seller to provide cutting head parts, instead he kept getting offers for a new machine. so had to have them made locally. This machine might be specially tuned and finished to lure people to buy. Sorry, you have built a "reputation" over the years. There might be some good, honest machine builder somewhere, that actually have some engineering knowledge, but sending this amount of money over? NEVER. When US made Lenox hole cutter cuts 170 cuts and chinese fails at first cut, when high quality 316 stainless elbow casting is just a little less magnetic than stainless, when mill divider has 20% functionality, because idiot used slide bearing instead of needle, making the head self locking and barely useful, a belt grinder where the bed, table and motor are "secured" with a SINGLE M6 bolt against turning, when a DRO on lathe starts doubling the real distance if set to show two decimal places, instead of three, when you have to drill thru the readout, because there are an M4 threads instead of holes and HOW in hell do you bolt this on lathe on a thick solid cast bed? in 4th dimension ? and and and ....I can go until morning with this....SHIT.

I came across this great video and channel as a result of a RU-vid suggestion. Hats off to you for your guts and general attitude. This stuff is not for everyone but for those with the capability who may be considering such a path yours is a very lucid description and analysis. I bought an older Syil X4 mill which I found needed some attention after I got it home. Like you I know I will get it going and I could not afford to get into this any other way. Your comments about layout, wiring, software, documentation etc of course apply to something made back then. However you are clearly showing how to turn the amazing productivity of China to your advantage with a little of your own know how and enterprise. As a result you are creating employment instead of unemployment. Kudos to you.

Thanks for all your videos. We bought our first CNC Fiber Laser. 3kW w. the typical China setup. Ours is the Au3Tech S2000 System/Software. Almost done finishing install and setup. (Chiller coming in a bit late). I am the kind of guy who will never give up until it works and we operated and built our own Plasma Tables. We also have a bunch of robots for which we built our own arm end tools. So, hopefully we get this going just well. We already got the laser welding down (handheld 2kW) and love it. As everything, once you learn the stuff, it seems simple. As always the devil is in the details. Wondering if you have any info on Au3tech software ect. We bought your other videos on your website and hope to extrapolate info from those to the Au3Tech software. Rather than re-inventing the wheel. Possible we will do a Au3Tech video once we have it all down and go into daily production and after we gather some real life experience. We do have experience with China Imports and I have been traveled gone there. There are some great companies to deal with and of course there are the scammers. We dealt with China over 15 years ago, and things changed dramatically. They learned a lot. The overall machine built quality on the frame is good. Its the details you have to rework a bit. Sloppy wiring, missing screws, stuff like that. Our machine came mostly fully assembled. BUT as you said, some electrical connections they forgot to tighten screws ect, so basically we reworkled and also double checked all the wiring and made our own wiring diagram. The biggest challenge are the poorly translated manuals for all the components. We had to download all the manuals from all the suppliers (cutting head, MCC, Proportional Valve ect.). Also, ours came with a Chinese Windows. We simply wiped the hard drive / popped a new harddrive (SDD) in and installed a new Windows 7 Version. Some of our videos of the robot stuff here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1P2TqT2dVPU.html

@@turbocobra in one of you next videos when you are cutting can you show the parameter screen on the laser so I can see what setting are adjustable for what your currently cutting. Gas setup I would do a bank of oxygen that usually consist of 12 oxygen bottles. If cutting with nitrogen you need to make sure it produces enough gas. You will use a good bit of nitogen if cutting stainless due to the much higher gas pressure needed. You may may run into assist gas pressure issues if the liquid nitrogen don't turn into a gas fast enough. Also if ever cutting any galvanized always use nitrogen as the assist gas.

How feasible would it be to buy the laser source, cutting head & cooler then mount it to a plasma table? Seems like going that route you could make something similar to this for a small fraction of the cost. ...assuming you already have a plasma table that is.
@turbocobra
@turbocobra 3 года назад
yea, not really feasible, most plasma tables are built with fairly lose tolerances in mind and would never be able to produce the g-force acceleration, Z movement, and overall rapids to make a laser head work properly. Laser tables are not just a plasma table with a laser head

From what I can tell, all of the machines are basically more or less the same design with minor variations. Some have extruded gantries and some (like yours) are cast...but otherwise they all seem to be the same basic design. I am interested in a Racus1500W Fiber with a Ray Tools head. We are looking at Prima, DX Tech, Oree and G-Weike. I believe I heard you mention in one of your videos that you were considering G-Weike but decided in the end that the Prima was a better fit? We installed a similar one in our shop in September to supplement our waterjet and replace a plasma. We chose a 1.5kw machine with the raycus laser. Total cost installed (including shipping) was under $90k (after 25% tariffs! ). We run ours all day everyday without problems. We cut steel up to 3/16 inch at I think 2 meters a minute. Completely transformed our business. We run oxygen at a cost of $140 a month. No consumables other than that. One thing to ask for or make sure yours has is automatic focal point adjustment. The 1kw machines sometimes have a manual system for focusing the beam. In our opinion the incremental increase in cost to jump to a 1.5kw machine made sense for the extra speed. If you need a lot of support and handholding this is not the machine for you. But if you've been cutting on a cnc plasma or waterjet and take some time to understand how the laser is cutting you will be fine. There are enough of these machines in the states that support is reasonably okay with usa based technicians. But quite frankly other than a minor issue at startup this machine is our best purchase ever.

All Chinese Fiber Lasers of similar kind seem to share the same linear bearing/rack mounting design...I think the design files get around fast in China! I'd even say that the motor/gearbox models are shared verbally or visually, which is why you will see most similar Chinese machines use Yaskawa servos ;) But, overall the process works for them and gives them a good enough profit margin to sell to US customers...not to mention, since China selectively enforces the patents (...if that), companies like Raytools (who make the fiber laser power sources) can thrive by going around major global players like IPG (which owns majority of the fiber laser patents) and offer lower pricing.

I'm interested in buying a fiber Laser cutter, but I am not in favor of buying one from China because a) of all the cons you mentioned above, b) of the clumsy craftsman involved, and c) the operators manual (at instances you have to be a magician to understand what it means), and d) it is impossible to communicate in plane English. One must use signs and body language to make it thru. I own a Chinese machine and I know what I'm saying. I also have a 5 axis robotic router from the States and, I run it for 10 years now, ALMOST trouble free, and every time something comes up, there is someone at the other end who can understand of what I'm saying, and even more. But since the buying of a Laser cutter is in our plans in the near future, I'd like to see it working, I like to see the capabilities of the cutter, speed, whether an enclosure around it is provided or not, etc. Thank you for all the trouble u went in giving us details of the cutter.

I bet this machine didn't cost more than $100K. Also, keep in mind that the Chinese government grant-aides these machines.
