Trying something new for the channel! I wanted to interview 2024 North American VGC International Champion Patrick Connors after he won NAIC a few weeks ago. He had one of the most incredible runs I've ever seen in VGC history & I wanted the world to get to know him better. It's my first time doing something like this so would love your thoughts on this kind of content and any feedback! Hope you enjoy and a huge thank you to Patrick for jumping on the channel!
Popping in for a quick question since I know Aaron has worked with Nintendo/Gamefreak before, do they care about pokemon showdown? I don’t like doing illegal stuff.
hearing his story about his dad driving from jacksonville to new orleans reminds me of your own story, driving on a family trip for your own pokemon tourney glad you managed to do this interview aaron, I love heartwarming stories like these
This is a good reminder that high achieving people are just built different. I want to acknowledge, same as Patrick, that hard work and time management are practiceable skills, but you can tell he's maniacal in his disciplined hard work.
Patrick seems like such a real one 🤘 Watching him play gave me the same feeling I had watching Rajan play the regionals he won. I could just feel they would win the whole thing. Discipline and preparation are huge but having that third eye open and being able to play out of your mind and adapt brings it to the next level. Edit: The Day 2 NAIC chapter holds the secrets. Patrick saying he was ready to play with no expectations let him be calm and confident. Shows that having the right mindset and vibe matters so much on top of prep when it comes to winning it all.
I really enjoyed the talks ive seen with Patrick. Such a great mentality. Seeing the Pelipper come out while in the crowd was insane too. The set was too good.
"Florida Man Single Handedly Defends The Louisiana Purchase From The French" is my takeaway from this tournament. All that said...I REALLY want Aurelian to win worlds 🥺
Incredible interview, Aaron asked all the right questions and Patrick was so insightful, especially when it came to his game planning and overall mindset. Thanks for the video!
Enjoyed the interview, glad to hear some insights from Patrick on how he "broke" into the Pokemon scene. I'd love more content like this, despite it being a bit more niche than the typical Cybertron ladder climbs.
Great interview. I really wanted to know more about this dude after seeing that game 3 at the end of NAIC (I was cheering for him). I'd like for this video to do well, cuz I think the varied content is cool. Also, did we just get the two best heads of hair in competitive pokemon in the same video??
This was really interesting insight! What is the CSR matchup (mentioned at 12:20)? I don’t compete so it’s cool to hear the intricacies of competing & preparing. Also shoutout to these lads and their fkn HAIR.
Hi, I'm sandro and I think your videos are very cool. I'm from Germany and I'm new to VGC and I wanted to ask what are the best sites for a good team. I already know Pokemon showdown, are there any other interested parties that you can use to capture the meta? Thanks for the help.
