As a Korean American, I also get hormonal acne but my breakouts seem to heal faster with a multi-step skincare routine. It’s a misconception that Koreans are born with glass skin. It’s about lifestyle habits as well, not just skincare products. What you eat or drink affects your skin health too. Wearing sunscreen daily is a must in order to prevent or minimize signs of aging (not to mention skin cancer). As the saying goes, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”.
Great video! Love all the information. The treatments are on top. I would like the process to meet the person you contact. Also the price of the treatments. Thankyou.❤
I live in Namibia (Africa) and my skin care therapist does this treatment (minus the stem cells - we mainly use Vit A or C after the microneedling) so I am happy to hear we are up there with the coveted Korean skin Care treatments!
There were lawsuits from accutane. I took it and I'm not going to lie it worked and at the time you probably could not have talked me out of it but I have stomach issues as an adult and it hard to not wonder if accutane caused those as that is what the lawsuit was for. You are so beautiful, you have to do what's best for you.
This was interesting to see their culture, and kind of scary. What frustrates me about skincare is it's almost impossible to find a product that is NOT targeted to "anti-aging." Aging is part of life. Skin has a pH, and so many products can offset it, skin is the biggest organ. It was kind of concerning hearing them talk about bacteria on skin as a bad thing. All skin over the body has bacteria, it is needed and beneficial. Again, trying to remove the bacteria can set you up for skin & health issues. Crazy how he kind of normalized Accutane. Hormonal shifts are also a part of a persons life. Its internally our diet and what our system needs is the bigger effect of our skin on the outside.
I took acutane for 3 months, realized about halfway into month 3 that I was seriously depressed, it actually lowered my immune system to the point that I developed Gingivitis, but I was told that if I had managed to make it to the end of month 4 it would have basically been cured. The first month-month and a half was basically everything bubbling to the surface so it was the worst acne I have ever had, but after that it did legitimately get rid of my hormonal acne. I didn’t have any for almost a year and the acne on my back is as close to cured as I will probably get. When I got into my very stressful 3rd year of uni the face acne did return in full force. However what I have found surprisingly and amazingly helpful is Ordinary’s Salicylic Acid (note NOT the serum, the regular one, there is a massive difference for some reason, make sure the bottle is white), I apply it every evening to the problem areas and it has proven to make a HUGE difference
One thing you can see if you can be prescribed is spironolactone. This was/ is used as a BP medication but if you are a candidate, it’s also been found to aid in hormonal acne and help with hair growth. It’s a common long term medication used after accutane to keep the results
That looks like a very interesting experience! I'm not sure if I would do any treatments like this, but it looks intriguing though. It's amazing to learn more about our skin and everything about it.
So interesting! Lexie, I definitely recommend taking Accutane! I took the lowest dose (20mg) for 6 months, did not suffer from collateral damages, and it changed my skin!
I took accutane 2 times and it cleared my skin however it came back. Also mentally it was hard, I felt really depressed, specially the second time i took it. Even though my acne is back it’s no longer an option for me. Btw your skin is beautiful ✨
it’s actually pretty cool if you look at it big picture! stem cells are being researched to solve many major diseases and cancers. outside of skincare, stem cells are superhero cells that can transform into other cells and help with lung disease, etc
i tried everything for my skin when I was in high school. it wasn't super terrible cystic acne, but bad enough to bother me. By university I asked the doctor for accutane and only had one course. It works great for most people, I know some people need two courses. My skin is still very sensitive since then and dry in the winter, with the odd break-out now and then even 10 years later. But I would still take it if I could go back. For me, the pros were way more than the few cons. The effect that bad skin can have on a person's self-esteem and confidence is quite a big thing, even if it is maybe "superficial". After a certain age, you don't want to always worry about the marks and have "teenage skin". It depends on the person, how bad it is and how much it bothers them. And do it for yourself, not for other people. It should be your choice, you shouldn't be bullied into doing it if you don't want to do it.
I wonder how these machines measure "skin age". That seems like a very subjective thing. How does one determine what conditions each year of age 'should' have?
Thank you. I live in Vietnam but I alway watch your Tube of you. English listen very good for me heart and read it. I practice English from you every day. Thank you so much.
I think the visual progress your skin has made in the month since you visited South Korea speaks volumes for the practices they put you on. I've not taken Accutane myself, but my sibling did years back, and it was brutal for him. Not only did it essentially dry his skin out externally, but it burned through him internally as well. Nose bleeds were a frequent occurrence for him, as well as deep seated, heavy body aches (he always said that his back and scalp felt as if they were *cracking* and burning). Don't get me wrong, Accutane does what it claims: my brother's fungal acne was burnt out at the root and he's not had a problem with it in almost ten years since. But it is an intense experience that, if you can manage with a less extreme method, is something I would recommend avoiding.
i have hormonal acne too it does not necessarily means something is wrong with blood test u can check maybe its also a little different curve.. i think a more integrative dermatologist can give a wider aproach that taking a crazy pill for something so minor as yours it decreased in my 30' but then i started having roceia more with stress... stick to super gental dermo products try to stick with the face wash and retanoyd a few times a week i like the Cera v products for sesitive skin they do not irritate the skin, and nutrition and suplemens can help you control most hormonal acne even rosecia. i would consult a neutropt about nutrition and herbs and wearing a wide hat and spf will decrease significantly the scars btw do not pop them, ever this is usually where the scare starts... also the sun increase rocesia retanoyd wash youcan put only on the acne parts also you can leave it afew minuts on the skin
Vampire treatment looked like Morpheous8. At least you got the easy experience with a single pass. As for the accutane, your skin looks fine so don't really know what you are talking about. Unless you are timing the filming of every single RU-vid video where you don't have acne. But it does work. I had the worst type.. sub-dermal pizza face. It made the acne the worst it could possibly be for a month, but eventually all the acne goes away. I haven't had any real acne since then. There was also occasional bloodwork required to monitor for adverse affects.
Your ance isn't even severe to warrant getting Accutane you're better off getting Retinol or retinaldehyde. I wouldn't even recommend Accutane or Spiralactone unless the acne was affecting your mental health. Also there are life long side effects from taking Accutane even if does work wonders that's the catch 22.
This guy has been doing this for years. if you watch expats that have lived in korea for years you see him. I went to his Gangnam clinic but you don't get this of extensive experience and this video is considered promotion for his business so she probably didn't have to pay much if not at all.
Hey Lexi, you did a fantastic job on this video. I have a daughter Ashleigh who is similar to you in age. Please do NOT take Accurane for the drug stays in you and can Damage the fetus of your first child, which is what happened to my friend. She took accurate for 3-5 years yet when she had her first baby, the child was born damaged with a Clouded cornea eyes. So you have average skin like most people and don't feel bad, so please don't take a seriously strong and damaging drug like Accurate! Good luck- Rose
Why did they do Microdermabrasion , then Micro Needling? I perform Korean based Treatments and procedures, but how and why did nobody put together that this should NEVER be done back to back… and what is the same day?? There is a (14 day) to one month that needed to happen in between such aggressive invasive procedures, no idea who told you to do these in less time, but Absolutely no!
Poor Lexie, she was being so brave but you could tell she wanted to run away but so glad she showed us step by step of how to achieve that hourglass look.
Acutane is great. I learned at 52 that if u have acne past the age of 25 you likely have PCOS which can also cause weight gain. I wish I investigated that sooner. Acne and weight gain should be seen as a symptom of something else that is off.
I had experience with that pill. Is magical change my sking completely. when i finish in my teenager i have no redpots, acne, black spots, etc. As you are a women the only bad thing is that during the treatment you cant get pregnant because you loose the baby. but after that is good
Took Accutane in middle school, it definitely worked but your skin gets super dried out. I'm not sure if I have any permanent side effects because I don't really ever think about it 😂 I will say though my teen acne has never returned 20 years later.
You've lost fat underneath your right eye, hence the small dent there. That needlin RF device is known to making people lose fat in the face because of the radiofrequency energy. I looked at your before and after and it's evident they're is a change. I want to warn you and others to be careful please because it's hard to regain that fat back, or impossible if around the eye area.
The US needs to catch up with the Koreans, I mean come on, that is some high tech awesomeness. I'm an Esthetician and would love to do this kind of work. And yes diet is always so important in skin health. Diet can effect everything, even hormones.
Have you found anything similar to Tyne morpheus8 radio frequency that doesn’t do that. I am Hispanic and did some type of ipl and had the same problem. Something about having brown skin and using certain treatments while there are others better for my skin.
@@deedee2218 Being Hispanic, which I guess it means you’re probably Latinamerican ( I’m half Spanish/half Latinamerican) you should be very careful with post inflammatory hyperpigmentation reactions. I have stopped doing anything that’s heat producing because the type of skin I have is not going to react well to heat. After my pregnancies I had extensive melasma all over my face. I had laser treatments that gave me extra post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. The only way I got rid of it, was through chemical peels and completely avoiding the sun. My experience with Morpheus apart from what I mentioned above, I can tell you was that this tool is good for nothing. I got no improvement whatsoever on my skin laxity on thighs or arms. NONE. A waste of money. Caution with IPL, lasers and all heat producing devices, except Indiba radio frequency and only done by someone who understands your skin type well and doesn’t burn you.
@@deedee2218 When I was looking desperately to get rid of melasma, I read a medical article about women in Central American who work cooking in the streets, being subjected to a lot of heat from their stoves or cooking fires, and most of them developed very bad melasma because of the heat. This is more common obviously if you have dark pigments in your skin which overreacts to the heat, like my case, I’m a brunette, with light olive skin.
Please don't take Accutane! Your skin is beautiful. Limit your intake of simple carbs and this may help with the underlying hormonal aspects of your acne. I took several rounds of Accutane as a teen, in my mid-20s because of cystic acne. It did help greatly , but there were severe side effects. For example, it causes all membranes to dry out and nosebleeds are common. Well, it is now decades later and I still experience irregular nosebleeding, even in a humid climate. Accutane has also been linked to depression. Your skin is beautiful. Do not take so powerful a drug with so many negative, long-term side effects. You don't need it, beautiful girl. 🩷
I think it takes 3 to 4 microneedling treatments. Your skin looks great. I don't believe in using stem cells from an embryo. I would do a blood draw and infuse your own stem cells. You can infuse it or put it on the skin after your micro-needling. Your basically getting stem cells from an aborted baby they just don't tell you that.
If they’re getting it from an umbilical cord it either comes from an animal or an aborted fetus. Not sure I would use something that came from an aborted fetus but many of these places use animals.
I've been to Korea several times already. Your every day Koreans do not have this so called glass skin.. When are people going to realize those celebs wear makeup and their photos are airbrushed..
What's the point of having the hispanic guy there to shadow the experience and reiterate the points the dermatologist is making when the dermatologist speaks perfect English and explains everything comprehensively? 🤣
No you don't have hormonal acne. You have a combo of viral, and bacterial overload and maybe hormonal. Even though you can see that Koreans have better skin than Americans by far, It's interesting the way you completely disregarded what the Korean doctors said. Is it because you don't want to do the work? Bc, that's kinda what it sounded like. People in America are more sick and in poorer health than the rest of the industrialized world, bc of this very attitude that only wants the easy things. Sure, you can't go get the same Korean treatments regularly, but you can upgrade your skin care routine and change your diet to reduce your bacterial and viral load on your face. Your tagline of "let's push our limits" is totally in contradiction with your attitude. Wow. I could hardly believe what you were saying. Watch this video with an open mind, if you're ready to really see yourself. I know you are on a journey of growth and have a desire to grow beyond the limitations placed on you by yourself and the world. Pls take this as a heartfelt and thoughtful perspective on you.
