Hired someone to play as him. Couldn't record audio that sounded realistic over it so omitted sound. /s But real talk you knew it was a good run when it was silent and it was left in. Either completed run with green time or crash last second.
Yannic really needs to add a replay feature. In the age of when RU-vid can really make a video game (still today, even if it is not as much as it was 6-7 years ago), it is a no brainer to allow people to replay their best runs
Wouldn't be easy to implement, since Zeepkist's physics aren't deterministic (if you do the exact same inputs you don't get the same result since there's a bit of randomness), so you can't just record the inputs, and instead you'd have to either record actual videos which would take too much space and performance, or you'd have to rewrite the physics engine to be deterministic which would be hard and take extremely long to do
@@laurinneff4304 an easy implementation for now, would be recording positions + inputs and effects, and then replay based on the positions and apply the inputs and effects on top of that. Might not be the prettiest but its better than nothing.
@@FUGP72 the real problem here is that the deterministic physics plugin didn't exist when yannic started the problem, and is too lazy to change now, as it'd require a complete refactor of everything to do with physics, which almost the entire code base
Theme idea: detail - i want to see how detailed of a track you guys could make, like yannic makes amazing looking tracks with alot of detail and lighting and im curious how good looking of a track you guys could make and maybe vote whos was the best.
Hey kAN, depending on what file type you save your videos as (say mp4), and what codec you use it is possible to recover corrupted video, id recommend looking into that. Also you might want to look into recording with file types other than mp4 for better stability, and when you edit the video you can have that program export it as an mp4 to make RU-vid happy
KAN, you could probably just research an mp4 (or whatever format your recording software uses) repair service. The most common corruption is a header issue, which can usually be easily fixed by a trial & error system. For reference, only 3 bits within the header (of an mp4 at least) can invert color and/or nake some parts black. This is easily fixed as it is easy to tell if color is off and other things. The header also cotains info about the length, format, resolution, color space (aka color mode or color profile), which can all obvously change the video in wierd ways. For example if an app expects 8K (because the header says the resolution is 8K) but it was actually recorded in 1080p, that will at best, increase the ammount of memory the program uses, and at worst, crash the program. If a video is mostly a hot pink then the green offsett is probably near 0, same for yellow except the offset is for blue, etc. Hope this helps you!
from what he told it was an issue with freeze frames in the recording and very low fps. so if the recording in itself has just a bunch of copies of the same frame, then no paid repair tool can save it. and i don't think that he would record in mp4 willingly, except if he doesn't have enough space to record in a format that doesn't corrupt easily because of the compression step being buggy.
I'm curious about the ending of F6, with the eyeballs. Is there an option on the finish line to kill/not kill the player? It looked like that one didn't kill you but launched you into cool terrain that did the deed. I really like that allot. I suggest a volcano track, where the end launches you into the Caldera at the top. It could have a dispenser in there that's throwing stuff straight up into the air. Obviously not too much stuff but you can set that up so it falls down onto the track in places. But in the end it would throw your vehicle into those dispensers so you'd get shot up into the air and tossed around for a minute, maybe?
for some reason the skip thing made me think of removing the sections you can skip from a map... i mean making a map that has those skill shortcuts and then taking the sections of the road that it skips and making them invisible so drivers can still finish a map normally but any section they cant see they will know that the pieces there are essentially useless since you can skip them...
I feel so disappointed for you my man i would probably rage quit if it happened to me xd but i am glad you have a lot of patience which i have almost non in games although i love games either way i believe you got it kan and keep it up my man ✌️
You played this for 6hours!? And then your recording got corrupted, so you decided to do it all again for another 6hrs!? I’m surprised you even finished tracks.
Kan, you're not a terrible failure, but not keeping software up to date that pays the bills is kind of a failure. In all seriousness though, that sucks bro, I'm glad you got it figured out. Hope your next recording goes better. I mean, except in the industrial sector where nobody ever updates anything.
