I just Don't Know!!! Bloodywood - Dana Dan  

Goddess Kali, she is the protector of innocence and destroyer of all,and in this video she is angry. Bloodywood is a play on Bollywood, Indian Hollywood and its toxicity. This band is fantastic and very much " fight back against the tyranny" in their music.

You’re spot on with your comments about the warrior aesthetic throughout the video. This band is incredibly outspoken about different topics and they use the visuals in their music videos to help make the ideas more relatable. From the Goddess Kali being front and center, to the face paint drawing from different “nerd” cultures, to the drums being so heavily featured, it all visually brings the idea into perspective for different audiences. They have another video that does something very similar (Machi Bahsad: Expect a Riot) where they talk about impending change being inevitable due to corrupt systems where they very heavily focus on an old British fort. The cannons are still there. Gaddar (means traitor) is filmed almost entirely in a junkyard, but is again talking about corruption and the need to change things. They have an amazing amount of autonomy since they’re self produced, but they’re also an incredibly good group of guys who have a serious passion for a lot of different amazing causes. Sorry for the rant, hope you guys check out more from them. And if you’re ever bored, their documentary Raj Against the Machine is awesome.

Dana Dan is the sound a drum makes. It's an onomatopoeia for the sound of a drum being played and also Indian slang for beating the absolute crap out of someone. In English me might say someone got beat like a drum so it makes sense. They tend to simplify their translations and also lessen the intensity of them (to avoid censor issues I assume). It's the word for a sound so no literal translation but from what my Indian friends have told me it's not just "bring the beatdown" it's more like "beating the living crap out of someone over and over and over again).

Bloodywood is an awesome example of international metal. A few other suggestions to check out (if you haven't already) - Jinjer (Ukraine), Alien Weaponry (New Zealand), Eluveitie (Switzerland), Gojira (France), Mors Subita (Finland), Sepultura (Brazil), Alestorm (Scotland - pirate metal, lol), Cruahan (Ireland), Septicflesh (Greece). Another one to check out, although I wouldn't call them metal, is Heilung (Germany).
