Baker Mayfield bounced back after passing for less than 200 yards in the Browns Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The former number one overall pick put up 219 yards and 2 touchdowns in last night’s win over Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals. Baker did throw a late interception but was able to lead the Cleveland Browns on a fourth quarter drive to seal the game behind their ground attack. @@BuddhaMelffyQueen he was overthrowing every pass that wasn't a short check down to a slot receiver or TE. Like seriously, baker looked way better despite the INT. Its real easy to look good when you're just completing high % passes. Hes so damn inaccurate when it comes to airing it out. That will change with more time and more games played.

The O-Line is absolute garbage and I hate watching my franchise QB and RB get hit all day because the line cant hold for more than 2 second, last year i think Mixon had the most broken tackles in the backfield because that's what he has to do every play and he cant break any big ones because he has to dodge 3 d lineman in the backfield just to get 1 yard

Their line is bad but lets be honest, if they want to win games they need to fix that defense! Burrow proved he can still put up points and the ability to win games even with that terrible offense. If the defense can hold teams under 20 points i can see them being a playoff team in 2-3 years

Yea I never understood hating a Young QB who have no chance to succeed due to coaching or front office. I mean look at Ryan Tannehill that man went threw like 6 different OC in the span of 5 seasons. All while having the worst O-Line in the league protecting him for much of his time in Miami. And then look at his coaches he had Joe Philbin and Adam Gase two of the worst coaches I have ever seen in the NFL. And it's even worse when I can't decide who the worst coach is.

THIS is the 'no excuses' year: Baker literally is surrounded by the BEST overall talent offensively in the league with the most QB-friendly scheme possible. And a coach who went 10-6 last year with this offense with much less talent. Rookie coach, yes, but no mongoloid like Kitchens[don't get me started]. He has a year left on his contract after this one, so he'll have his time to learn and grow...either way, the Browns are stuck with him. But he may end up a high-paid backup who never learned to take care of the ball. You probably don't know this if you're not a Browns fan, but CASE KEENUM showed him up in training camp, and has run Stef's offense before He gets one more year to show if he is franchise or flea-size. You must also consider that all that talent means big contracts coming up: business decisions must be made..

As a Bengals fan. Who hasn't missed a game since he was 6, so 2000. Carson had all the talent but just didn't want to be there, he said we didn't want to win but years we had the chance it was him who let us down. Then Andy who I love but couldn't watch anymore. Andy has talent but no heart, he is a frontrunner. He becomes paralyzed under pressure. If you sack him or pick him early you see his eyes drop. It makes me truly happy to see burrow because he has talent but he has ❤️ he has grit, he has confidence. He's everything Carson, and Andy aren't. Just like the redskins did w/ RG3 his rookie year. U supposed to build around your QB . As a Bengals fan, I was sad about the losses so far but I am so pleased with how Burrow is playing. It gives me hope for my team’s future. I know this year we wont win many games (maybe even none if we don’t make adjustments) but I am in no way disappointed with the direction my team is going with Burrow! Who Dey!

Baker has had 4 coaches. I played college football at the D1 level and having to switch a new playbook every year is very hard to do. You never settle or find your mojo. So for those who think that doesn’t have an effect, you’re wrong. They will be just fine. No he didn’t “prove” anything last night. But it shows he will win the games they’re supposed too. Play action will be GOLD for this team. Defensive steps up and they’ll make some Noise. Good seeing Odell getting involved again. He needs the ball thrown to him at least 8-10 times a game.

The only thing Baker Mayfield did last night was play like an average starting QB... They play Washington in week 3 so he'll probably have another average QB performance. He'll be back to playing like the Baker Mayfield we all despise by week 4 when he has to go up against the Cowboys.

I think a lot of these guys kinda regurgitate their favorite morning talk show guys opinions, so im not sure what the case is here, but watching the highlights; Baker looked like the better quarterback, CLEARLY, for three quarters. And looked fine in the fourth. Threw one interception that was a forced throw, that was really it. But he threw a couple absolute dimes, showed some good movement and accuracy. Burrow looked fine, a lot of his line came in garbage time where he rang up at least two passing touchdowns and a healthy amount of passing yards. He did look good though, that offensive line not being able to pass or run block is just a nightmare. I feel for Joe too. Both of these teams have promise at the position in some way.

7:54 Skip, when your one-two punch at RB combine for more yds and more TDs than your QB had (and one of your RBs caught a TD pass as well), and when most of your passing rhythm came from play action, that is the very definition of a ground and pound, run-first, *run to set up the pass* offense, the first two plays of the game being passes don't change that

And he just needs a team under his feet. He had a bond with his teammates at Oklahoma and I think if we can get a team atmosphere it'll pan out because he feeds off that energy. They seemed to be playing like a team against the Bengals and I think even though the Bengals aren't great it's a good sign. As you say we need time and not just 3 years. The browns need a foundation to build from. It's something that they haven't had a chance to do since they came back to Cleveland. The Haslems keep switching everything around.

Imagine your team wins, your qb plays well, and people still hate. Baker was fine last night, the running game was good too. Two things can be true at the same time. Over 200 yds passing, and Baker still gets hate. I think sports media and this comment section know nothing about sports. The good running game set up Baker's passing. This game was a great step up for Baker. Joe Burrow was fine too, he has a pretty good future.
