I love old hockey cards. I used to know every player in the league in the 80s and 90s. Mike Gartner and Bryan Torttier are both Hall of Famers. I love seeing the goalie photos and the old equipment. Joey Mullen and Mike Bossy are also in the HoF. Paul Coffey and Larry Robinson, HoFers. Lots of great players in these packs. Denis Potvin, HoF. Billy Smith, HoF. These packs are chock full of Hall of Fame players! Marcel Dionne HoF. Gretzky's all day! And the Stevie Y rookie! Awesome! Looks really well centered. Hard to tell if it had surface issues. Beautiful card. And a Ron Francis HoFer right before that. Two Rod Langway HoF cards. Michel Goulet HoFer. Mark Howe HoF. Dino Ciccarelli HoFer. Man, that year was a great year for hockey. So many great players. Awesome pack rips!
Hockey! Need more of it. 84’ set always one of my favorites. Centering usually an issue but if you can get a clean one nothing better! Stevie-Y!! Thanks for sharing.
interesting when you mention the packaging... I vaguely remember opening these as a kid and the OPC version I think was just the regular wax style that just peels open...
Love it! Love this year of Topps! The channel is growing on me. Great content! It’s pricey but you should do the 1985 O Pee Chee. Lemieux RC. I have the full set and his card in a PSA 9.
When I was a kid, I opened up a pack of the 1984-85 OPC Hockey and I got a Cam Neely and Steve Yzerman. To get those rookie cards in the same pack was winning the lottery.
Hmm...my recollection is Topps first non wax wrapper was Stadium Club back in 1991. They did BB, FB, & H. BB in 1992. BB in 1991 was really big, but UD was first in 1989. First.
I noticed you pulled at Marcel Dionne card, if I remember that was his last year as a top league scorer as Gretzky (actually tied as top point getters) joined the NHL, it ended Dionne’s reign as scoring champ. I would save that card!
Ended Dionne's reign as scoring champ? Marcel Dionne won one scoring title in his career. Plus, Dionne and Gretzky were tied for the scoring lead during the 79-80 season, not this season. Learn some hockey history
I have a complete set of 84/85 opee-chee hockey cards Steve yzerman played for my hometown junior hockey team i even know the name of the billets he stayed with before he was drafted by Detroit
FYI Steve Larmer's rookie card is an error card it has Steve Ludwig photo on it and on Steve Ludwig rookie card it has Steve Larmer photo o n it ,I dont know if it was corrected but both rookie cards are from same set and rookie season
You got a Wayne Gretzky, Ron Francis 2nd year and followed it up with a Yzerman... Because this set is so small you get a lot of hits. You should get at least 2 of each card if not 3 each..
The Larmer is his first Topps card.. Actually it's also Larmer's first card where he's pictured. Larmer's OPC RC is a photo error, Steve Ludzik is pictured. Outside of the Rookie I'd sleeve the Savard, Kurri, Messier, Coffey, Bossy, Mullen, Robinson, Goulet, Smith, Potvin as well. They're all HOF'ers.
@@111highgh Why do you leave such negative comments? Why can't you simply correct them? Why do you accuse people of being "on every hockey card video" when you've been going from video to video leaving these type of comments for a year? Why do you expect everyone to memorize significant dates throughout hockey history? Why do you think you're better than everyone else? Why accuse people of leaving stupid comments, when you clearly edited your comment, which has to mean you made a stupid mistake?
