Steven's father, Del, passed away in 2013. So tragic what that family had to endure. Having one son be kidnapped and molested for 7 years and then having him return home, only to lose him again 9 years later in a terrible accident. Then, 10 years after Steven's tragic death, another son, Carey, turns out to be a serial killer. Nothing but heartbreak and tragedy for the Stayners. :-(

Idk how I feel about the parents, I’ve read that the parents refused any treatments for Steven stating he didn’t need them. So he struggled w/ his trauma on his own and then his dad kicked him out of the house because he couldn’t adjust to normalcy. Also it’s grows how they had him do interviews soon after he was found and relive his trauma over and over in front of millions of people. He looked super uncomfortable too.

@@lolawhiterabbit Then, on top of that, they always believed that Cary didn’t commit those murders. Del always thought that they had the wrong guy. Denial all the way

I saw this movie as a young adult and it terrified me. I was a eight year old when a man dressed as a priest ask me me to get in his car and show him where to find a bible. I was with my cousins and refused to leave them.....what if I’d gotten in his car! I weep everytime I think of that incident, the evilness of some people is real, scary and sick! I’ve raised my children to never talk to strangers, tell someone if you’re touched inappropriately by anyone! This is a world full of sick deranged people😕

One time a kind stranger helped me out. He lived in the apartment complex where my parents and I lived and he knew who I was and he told me that he could hear me making prank telephone calls through the paper thin walls. He said “listen, I know your mom and dad said not to talk to strangers and they are right. But I need to tell you this. All I want to do is give you a heads up to stop making those prank calls before you get caught and get in big trouble. If I heard you that easily, don’t you think your mom and dad could too? You are not in any trouble and I want to keep it that way. So just quit while you’re ahead”. He was a good guy I could sense that he felt strange talking to me with him being an adult who I didn’t know. But he made an exception that once because he didn’t want me to get in trouble. He said what he had to say and he went his own way. I’m happy that that kind stranger gave me that heads up, because he was right. If my parents had caught me prank calling, I’d have been in some really hot water. A rare time when a stranger is good

@@SignOfTheTimes008 Parnell was caught but got a light sentence but was convicted years later for another case and died in prison thankfully. John Ashton plays Steven's father in the movie. He's in a ton of movies like Beverly Hills cop, Some Kind of Wonderful, also Little Big League where he co-stars with the kid who gets kidnapped (the wizard) again a few years later. That might help you remember because Ashton was probably the biggest mainstream actor in that movie/mini- series about Steven.

+Kaiser Nikko Geeez that is one hell of an overreaction. Schmeichel4ever was just giving the same constructive criticism we were all thinking, you flipping your lid over it just makes me think that; a) you're a troll b) you are gwendolyn smith logged into a second account and posting defensive replies because you took the advice personally or... c) you have some kind of pedagogical complex or neurosis whereby even the most innocuous and basic display of knowledge by a third party is deemed instantly threatening for some reason. My guess would be that this is a secondary effect resulting from a delusional sense of intellectual grandeur. Like an intellectual Napoleon complex or something. Anyway, obviously +Schmeichel4ever knows that "their" is the possessive, that's why they know where to use it in a sentence. The context of use already demonstrates the comprehension. And to be honest Gwedolyn could learn something from Schmeichel because Gwendolyn has kids, and why would you trust that your parents know what's going on if they can't even get the hang of basic spelling and grammar? Parents gotta lead by example and that starts with educating themselves. Anything less is doing their children a disservice. As for you Kaiser, I'm only really replying because three months on, your rant (which I see has been carefully and painstakingly edited to perfection) really made me laugh. There's nothing more ridiculous than the way people vent their misplaced anger anonymously through the internet at people who don't deserve it. It's really somethin' else. Thanks for the lolz.x

I was about 8 years old and there was a candy shop at the corner of my block. I always went there as did my sister and all our friends after school and on the weekends. My fathers Barber Shop was at the other end of the block. One Saturday I was coming out with my bag of sweets and I saw a brick red Catty parked out front, I don't know why but the car itself gave me what I called then the hebi gebi's! There was a couple inside, a man and a woman. Very dingy looking! Blonde woman and a dark curly haired man! Scruffy looking! I could absolutely go into total detail if their facial features! Still to this day over thirty years later and I can still see their faces clear!! The woman gave me a crooked smile almost mocking type of smile! And the man ate his donut like a slob staring at me the whole time. She started to motion to me with her bony fingers that had long looked to be some broken finger nails! They spoke while looking at each other for a minute and he nodded yes to her and she again motioned to me! Then she started to open the car door! That's when I ran like I had never run before!! Of course to my pop's shop, told him what had happened. He and a couple of his friends ran outside and naturally the car and the couple was long gone! Now obviously nothing happened to me but it was that feeling that I'll never forget! My gut instinct telling me to get the hell out of there! And the fact that they took off just confirmed my fears! Had they had no ill intentions they wouldn't have fled??!! Again over thirty years ago and I never forgot a single detail nor have I forgotten that feeling! Crazy shit!
