Taylor Edwards The idea that Bernie does not understand economics is a massive misconception that’s been pushed by the media and people who don’t know much about macroeconomics. The most common argument is “socialism doesn’t work”. Well no shit. Everybody knows that an absolute socialism wouldn’t work but that ISNT whats being proposed here. All Sanders is trying to do is expand already-existing social programs such as Medicare so that it can cover all Americans who can’t afford it. America is already partly socialistic in the sense that we provide several different government programs . The argument against pure socialism is irrelevant and has nothing to do with sanders campaign. That’s a fear mongering tactic brought on by establishment & people who think they know how economics work. Think about it. When is the economy doing better? When the 1% is doing well or when the 1% AND the majority of the middle class are both doing well? Easy right? So how do we get the middle class to grow ? We first have to see what is burdening the middle class so heavily and that’s Medical bills, student loan debt, not to mention the amount of jobs being lost due to corrupt trade negotiations made by major corporations. What Bernie has been trying to do for so long is simply provide Americans economic rights such as healthcare and others so that the middle class can come out of its debt and begin to grow again. If you think he doesn’t know how to pay for it then you clearly haven’t looked at the data. Even by conservative research estimates, (Koch brothers funded study) Bernie’s free Medicare plan would actually save us money. If that sounds crazy, it’s because you don’t realize that we are already spending a massive amount of money on healthcare that is simply going to healthcare profits. (hundreds of Billions) Whether you have healthcare or not should not be determined by your wealth. If you’ve read up to here, you might say “yea that all sounds nice but how can we afford it all. Do you see anyone asking how we’re able to afford all the wars the US is getting into? That’s Trillions. How can we afford to pay 3-10 times as much for the same exact medications that other countries get? How much are we losing when we give Trillion dollar Tac cuts to massive companies who end up leaving anyways. My point is we need someone we can trust who knows how to redirect government spending appropriately and reestablish the rules and laws that keep big money in check. Bernie sanders is in favor of market capitalism and so am I, but certain things need to be off the hands of the private sector & the biggest one is healthcare for sure, then we can have the debate on college and more. Whether or not you think it’s possible, the best you can do is vote for Bernie Sanders because you know he will at least fix a ton of the f-ked up problems this country has due to corruption

He’s not trying to make every industry socialist or government run. Only those industries in which corporate profit is abusing people, such as healthcare. You could argue against socializing education but realize that keeping colleges as expensive as they are is holding back an entire generation of young people, preventing that entire generation from participating in the economy by buying homes, having kids etc. How do you expect a large majority of young people to get ahead in life if they’re stuck in tons of debt that they aren’t even paying off? Its creating a massive bubble and unfortunately the only way to fix this problem is as Sanders proposes. Sure there are many young people who get through college, pay their debt and go on to become financially sustainable but we’re talking about the majority of people here( the middle class) that’s carrying a massive burden. Having said all that id be glad to answer any of your questions. Bernie is actually a centrist on a global scale. He’s only considered far left in the US. I also very much think of Bernie as a true "public servant"--considering 1) His eight years as the thrice re-elected mayor of Burlington (VT's largest city), 2) then, in 1990, defeating by 16 pts. the Republican incumbent, to be the first Independent elected to Congress in 40 years (and where he served in the House for 16 years), and 3) now reelected to in his third term in the U.S. Senate (after an earlier reelection, in 2012, with 71 % of the vote).

What he fails to mention is the conditions of that Brooklyn apt is a whole lot better than Eastern Europe because of the free market where individuals get to decide how to allocate resources most efficiently instead of the state. Central planning cant possibly accomplish this. Countries like Denmark have small homogeneous populations with efficient ppl who don't overuse social service... will not be the case here

I would just like to say: US Voters, democrat or republican, please set aside your feuds and grudges for a moment and ask yourselves, "Isn't it time all those corporations and CEOs were held accountable for the suffering they cause, the people they screw over, the promises they break and the money they siphon off from hard-working americans dreaming of making a life for themselves?" Isn't it time *they* paid their fair share of taxes, instead of people working 9 to 5 or more, and unpaid overtime, having to pay a larger share of tax (as repubs or establishment dems would have it) and still get less and less of what they need, less health care, less education for yourself or your children, less social security for your old age or if you're crippled, less support for veterans who risked their life in service of the country? Bernie wants to take care of those people, and he wants people who have more money than they could possibly need to pay for it. Trump was born rich. He pretends to sympathize with everyday people, mimes shovelling coal or driving a truck before getting back on his private jet, popping some pills and laughing about how he can get away with sexual assault. He talks about climate change as though it's still a theory upheld by a few tinfoil nutjobs rather than the vast majority of the scientific community, then appoints a coal industry bigshot to head up the environmental protection agency. He shovels people in and out of his administration at a shocking rate, seemingly unable to either locate competent people who also agree with him on policy, or simply unwilling to work with people who begin to see him for what he truly is. He feeds his ego at every opportunity, watching Fox and holding rallies for his most zealous supporters because he craves attention more than he craves progress for the country. He claims to work harder than any other president, while somehow finding time for frequent golf trips. He tells you he's the best at everything, yet constantly fails to do what he said he would. He is defended by yes men and propagandists, people who can't stand to hear anything negative about him, even with statistical proof backing it up. Don't let stubbornness cloud your judgment. The only true embarrassment is to realize you were wrong, and refuse to admit it. The moment you embrace a mistake as a learning experience, you grow as a person.
