Thanks for the encouragement Bill! Not to pull back the curtain too far, but a lot of the stress I get on this project comes from trying to get a video made on top of working on the car. That said, this one was helpful for me in terms of figuring out how to just tackle the thing and record footage and trust that it will work out. Onward and upward!

@@JoshVanVeld I can't imagine how you guys do it! I get so involved in repairs and tools/parts spread, cleaning everything pre and post, I'd forget to turn the damn recorder on, or speak when needed. Nice! I have replacement ball joints and Delrin bushings lined up (bushings just showed up today from Borg). What sway bars did you go with?

@@JoshVanVeld I went with Strano Performance because they offered adjustment for both front and rear bars. I have the Borg bushing kit as well. If you don't have access to a hydraulic press and don't care about destroying the old rubber bushing drill holes in the lower bushings and cut the lip off the uppers. It makes them much easier to get out of the control arms.

@@JoshVanVeld Those have to be busted every time the engine is pulled. I've had those apart many times, now. A lot of that gets a lot easier with coilovers.

For the sake of keeping the video somewhat brief I edited out a lot of me banging on the knuckle with a hammer. The spindles are aluminum so you have to be careful with hammering.

@@JoshVanVeld I just did the same project on my C6 this weekend and feel your pain. The passenger axle came out of the hub no problem. Drivers side not so much. I finally got it out after borrowing a big jaw puller from O'Reilly's but also ended up having to replace the axle after boogering up the threads. I had the axle nut on but I hit it so hard before I gave up and got a puller it broke the threads.

QuickJack BL-5000SLX. I got it on sale at Costco over 3 years ago, it looks like that model has been discontinued since then. I believe I heard that the replacement gets the car higher off the ground. I went with the extended studs because my buddy told me they could be handy if I ever wanted to run spacers. It seems unlikely now that I will and it means I have to run open-ended lug nuts, but that's not a huge deal.

You're probably fine with low miles like that. Honestly I'm not 100% sure mine had an issue - now that I have them off the car I don't hear or feel anything in any of them when I turn them by hand. A couple videos back there's a segment where you can hear a sound that's a bit like a moaning/groaning sound . It happens on high-speed sweeping right-hand turns, which would load up the rear driver's side wheel bearing so that's what I thought I was hearing. Could be tire noise but I didn't hear it when turning left and it sounded the same with the old pilot super sport tires as it did with the new sport 4S tires. Bottom line though, unless you're doing a lot of track days I wouldn't worry about it until the mileage gets a lot higher.

I hate being a whiner but I also don't want to pretend to be having a great time when I'm not, so I'm trying to keep things honest in the videos. That said, I'm hoping that as I fix more issues and get more comfortable with the car (and get better at making the videos) I'll start to worry less when things go wrong and just enjoy the process!

I got a yellow Z06 like same spec its getting built right now I should get it back in about a month and half hopefully. Some potencial mods for your track Z06: Front spliter, Front fender vents, rear diffuser, wing, 3.90 gears and a cam would be great to turn this into a GT3 killer.

@Josh Van Veld's Racing Mind oh, is it common to run spacers when tracking a car or what would be the reason you would do that? I thought maybe it was for an alignment tool or something. I really enjoy your videos, thanks for the content.

@@JRG_11 I don't know if it would be very common. When you start running extreme camber you can push the wheels out further, and more overall width can be better. Honestly when I was purchasing parts my buddy Trent who's a lot more of an expert than I am suggested going with the longer studs so I took his advice. 😁 A downside is you need open-ended lug nuts because the factory nuts won't go on all the way.

Maybe my point didn't come across in the video. For those of us who didn't grow up working on cars, some of these jobs can be really intimidating. It actually took me several days to shoot this one because anxiety over not knowing what I was doing was killing my motivation to work on it. And then, as always, once you've done it once, it doesn't seem so bad and you can't even related to being so stressed about it in the first place. The next time I take the suspension apart I'll be able to do it with confidence and hopefully I won't be so intimidated by a more challenging task. Right now this channel is about the path I'm taking with this project, which includes me learning as a mechanic and as a driver. It's not meant to be a series of how-to videos, and if that's what you're here for I can see why you'd be disappointed.

@@JoshVanVeld I didn't say I was disappointed. Love the car. Love what you're doing with it. Maybe if you saw this video before hand, you wouldn't have been so intimidated. It might be about your journey, but you are sharing information that could be valuable to others.

It's been fighting him some so those of us who have been watching regularly know some of the frustration he's referring to. Wheel shake at AMP under braking, brake replacement, still shaking under braking, tried to go to endgame brake upgrade in economical fashion, got ripped off, etc etc.
