I believe I am in your gf parents age gap. So i am goona give you the true version of what they think. First of all, I like some of your videos and think you guys really put a lot of heart and sweat into it. And i really enjoy you guys spreading the chinese culture. OK, now i am giving u the straight truth. First, yes, i would be happy if you took so much effort to cook these dishes, because I know you really love our daughter. I can tell you really love her. Two, no, your dishes are not up to par, but the fact that her mother gave u such high points say that they really like you very much. Point is you really stole their hearts, and i wish you and her great love and everlasting happiness.

Yeah I am shocked how nice His Gf’s mom was . Mike went to His Ex’ home made dish for GRANDMA. All grandma 👵🏻 was doing was calling him Stupid fool , retard “U need to use your Brain 🧠!”-- in Cantonese ! . D entire hour . It was hard to watch . My family uncles , grandparents NEVER did that to me once. There are some under tone I totally heard it . They prob think he is “mainland Idiot looser trying to get a hot girl “ playing as if they r 🙃 Joking . There is NO way ,,, a CBC goes to Joy’s house will be treated such way. 😮 only d most crude Chinese families will do that but not even in front of camera . In Chinese culture -- be respectful to guests no matter where they from . 😮 seem Mike dodged a bullet with that family .

The Making up Rule/bundaries, stretch whats acceptiable in social norm n shrink what is What u see is right…..very telling by thinking pattern. 1 in 10 guys in Tech/mechanic/construction/engineer/finance/medical have that. Over analyzing the “since….so….” If u get a gf that makes 1 week of effort to learn something to impress ur family member to get a ‘wow” flyers back throw sweater on the floor into a slob. U do NOT want that. If yr partner use “since i m with u all the time i do NOT need to go OUT of way…” u will be first one to get mad. Mike is cool kid i like him. He is def bit loof at 28.

Classic movie plot of needing to get somthing done for the inlaws, but this was hilarious + your Dad telling how it is, tough love.... yet you got the love from the fam and bros too, but no joy from Joy at least where thinking you could do it is concerned #awkward. Yet im inspired to cook some of these dishes for my family. You could always branch off and do cooking vids, yours work for me. At the end of it, Joy's mum is so nice and fair, so that bides well for your future. Daughters taking after their Mother's, if the mum is nice, marry the daughter. 😂
