Leo, you've heard Chris a few times..... "Black Hole Sun" Soundgarden (it tripped you out... it was hysterical!!! SORRY) and you heard him in "Like A Stone" with his other band AUDIOSLAVE and then you heard him yesterday with his solo acoustic "Nothing Compares 2 u"..... Now you HAVE to hear him in his 3rd band Temple of The Dog with Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam lead singer) in "HUNGER STRIKE"...... seriously, their voices will give you chills and the song is AMAZING!!! :)

The "Seattle Sound" was the last great musical sea change. I don't think we've had a shakeup of the music industry like it since. Soundgarden, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains and San Diego band Stone Temple Pilots ... Smashing Pumpkins too, basically put a stop to all the hair-band shenanigans of the '80s.

I literally burned up the first Super Unknown CD I bought. All the coating came off of it in my car CD player. Super Pissed. Must have been a manufacturing defect but it screwed my newly installed CD Stereo. Had a new one installed the next day. I was determined to listen to that on my long morning drive to work. RIP Chris Cornell. I love all the music he did with Soundgarden, Temple of The Dog and Audioslave. With that said “Your Time Has Come” from Audioslave is my absolute favorite. Chris’ voice was/is as beautiful as he was. When he was asked to write and sing the theme song to the James Bond Film Casino Royale “You Know My Name” I was floored. In my opinion they just don’t “anybody” to sing the theme song to a James Bond movie. Chris had that much of an impact with his talent. I’m more than grateful but just as sad to have been able to listen and enjoy Chris and that voice. We all love you and miss you Chris. RIP 🥲

Soundgarden was an incredible band. Chris Cornell’s birthday is today. The hubby & I are thankful we got to see them live and Chris as a solo artist all the way up to 2 days before Chris passed away. It’s so heartbreaking to lose such a prolific talent like that. Try out some of their early stuff. “Birth Ritual” is a great place to start. His vocals are mad crazy on that one!

RIP Chris Cornell. Oh Mr. V, every time I see Chris I start sobbing! He was such a prolific songwriter, singer, person and died FAR too soon! Omg, and his vocal range? WOW! He, like me and so many others suffered from depression, anxiety and I feel this these lyrics speak to that. Even though he never intended to be part of the beginning of the Grunge music genre, Soundgarden and Chris especially were tops and I miss him still! 😭😭😭 Love ya. Asz

Chris suffered from depression and addiction. He committed suicide in his hotel room after his Detroit show 😢 May he rest in peace. His voice is incredible- Check out his covers 🔥

Some of my favorite SOUNDGARDEN songs: Pretty Noose, Overfloater, Like Suicide, Tighter and tighter, and there are so many other good ones. Soundgarden definitely addresses the uncomfortable and macabre issues of our human existence. Their lyrics beg the question, Can you deal with your own mortality? Brave the journey, go through and deal with your thoughts and feelings, and come out of the depths of Valhalla to the other side of humanity, shiny and chrome! Live, Love, Learn, Survive,Thrive.

I can hit those chirs cornell notes I'm proud to say, he is my inspiration to sing, the singers and groups that came out of that late 80's/early 90's alt rock/grunge scene were amazing. He could sing soul or heavy metal, it didn't matter, he had a 4 octave range. You can hear that soul even in his heavier rock songs. Soundgarden was an amazing band. I was fortunate to see them on their reunion tour, and chris on a solo acoustic tour before he passed.

Please note that along with being part of three bands, Chris had an amazing Solo career. He had 4 solo albums. Euphoria Morning was my favorite. He even put out one R&B/Hip Hop style album that Timberland produced called Scream.
