It’s actually a genius move selling hardly any of these but making sure every single tech reviewer is covering the phone heavily. It’s less of a product launch and more an extended marketing campaign that should pay off when their next product has a much wider release
Reminds me of the OnePlus One launch tbh. Limited numbers, great phone for the price, and loads of attention and coverage. Then make the phones easier to get as the company grows and the reputation is already there.
Where did you see they aren’t making many of these phones? I know they’re not selling them in North America, but that’s likely more because of the complications with US carriers than it is about creating a hype train
Yep and actually does look like a decent phone with nice software and a very good price (with apparently more shit to come), Right up my street as an android user for sure! With a little hint of iPhone lol I'm cool with that, As long as I don't get a hint of IOS xD God that sucks.
What? You realize its literally not fully released. That comes later this month. This is not the release, this is literally how samsung and apple do it
Did... Did we have an entire phone impressions video where Linus didn't mention if it had a 3.5mm headphone jack in it or not? I guess he's finally accepting defeat ;-;
Honestly headphone jack is a make or break deal for me. If your phone doesn't have one, it's instantly off of my consideration list. I do not like wireless headphones and the headaches that come with them, the big one being the limited life span and cost to keep replacing them every handful of years. I would rather have a solid pair of wired headphones, that are reasonably priced and will last longer than a couple of years.
ppl gave up yes. Dont care for wireless either. I won some airpods pro in a contest but the charging, stupid case and complexity, when i only use it in say a train...Also if i was gonna use em while im running I haft to carry my phone anyway. And i use only my Garmin watch, phone carrying hard pass.
You guys are weird if you dont have the dongle just permanently attached to your “on-the-go” headphones by now. Not being able to charge while listening to the device is such a non issue that everyone has blown way out of proportion.
Those "functions" or the lack of them are from Android 12 itself 😅 but yeah, nothing has some cool design to the public, and a stock Android experience in hands
Hey Linus, double clicking the lock button brings up the wallet app. Its not exactly useful since the app comes up automatically when the phone gets close to a NFC payment device, but it does something.
I use it all the time in different countries as it’s faster to make payments, as not every device has a strong NFC signature to open the wallet preemptively. This way I double tap, authenticate (looking at the screen for unlocking payments) and tap the device anywhere needed to make payments, saving some seconds. I wish, however, I didn't had to do it.
I knew the double tap opened Apple Pay but I've never experienced it automatically open when near and NFC payment device. Interesting but seems like it would be a bit useless since you still have to hold it toward your face to unlock apple pay though.
Not it doesn’t do it automatically everywhere, it’s not really that secure because someone can easily just hold up a portable card reader next to your phone while you’re using it. Even where it is automatic, you still use it for loyalty cards that don’t use NFC
Actually, you might have a ton of stuff in your wallet that is not NFC based. Also, not only is the double click taken, but there are two other methods to open the camera on an iPhone that never-used-an-iphone-Linus glanced over: back tap, and swiping in the direction of the icon he was holding instead of, well, holding it. With how easy it is to actually criticize something about iPhones or other Apple devices, it's amazing how often LMG manages to point out something that is just wrong instead.
On my OnePlus 7T, it is Very easy to switch between connected devices. Hit the volume button and then hit the top symbol which is "Media Output". Then just scroll through all your media devices and select what you want. Nearly perfect and exactly what Linus described.
"You can enable OEM unlocking" HELL YEAH! This. This is what I was hoping. Every single phone now seems to make it impossible to unlock it. Which sucks, because I keep my phone until it breaks most of the time, which means I stop getting software updates before I switch. I used to solve that problem with LineageOS, but with newer smartphones that's impossible now.
This is why I'm pretty much sticking to my aging Xiaomi A1. The A3 was just bad though with the display downgrade. Ever since Google had the Pixel "A" phones they stopped pushing OEMs to make open phones :(
I remember the old days of Android when you could customize the RGB LEDs on the back of your phone for different apps so you always knew what the notification corresponded to.
Yeah, have that on my samsung galaxy note 3. Blue or green for different messages. And red when charging. I thought there was a phone model(dunno which brand) from last year(or maybe 2020)that had an LED notif light.
About quickly switching between bluetooth audio devices: you can do it on oneplus phones (and probably other androids too) it's just a bit hidden. When you turn up/down audio and the bar appears, you press the icon above the bar and then you can choose an output device.
OnePlus USED to alow this function. But as a fool I upgraded to Android 13 and my OnePlus8T LOST the ability to do this. I was (am) so mad. Also my non OEM 65W warp charchers no longer work. after the Update. Only OEM chargers do.
I just really want it because i loved the Essential phone. I love the square shaped design but hate apple products so I'm probably going to try swapping from my one plus to this once you can buy it
@@leaphymoon9881 Same here. Went from OnePlus One to Essential PH1, now using a OnePlus 8Pro. For the Nothing, the design looks good, the hardware sturdy, the software clean, and the price competitive. I hope the community will step and bring LineageOS for this device for it to be useful for many years to come.
The whole notification swipe thing exists in untouched Android as well, it just happens to be a problem because the fingerprint reader is in-screen. They should've changed it though. Screenshot scrolling is also a vanilla Android thing as well.
Yup. Seems he doesn't like stock Android 12. Though to be honest, I'm a long time Android user and I have gripes about Android 12. Like the notification quick options are too big and the new audio adjustment interface. Worst offender for me is it now takes extra taps to turn off wi-fi because the menu is now internet combining mobile and Wi-Fi
@@viatorvoice It was the same for me, but thankfully you can (for now?) revert that bs google decision. Google "Bring back the Wi-Fi and Mobile data Quick Settings tiles in Android 12 using these ADB commands"
@@viatorvoice I noticed Linus is clearly out of touch with android 12. He's completely fallen for Samsung's stay in our ecosystem tricks, where even if it's not my preferred means, I can adapt. Then again he always slags about Sony Xperia and the back versus app nav buttons and doesn't seem to realize that's stock Android and Google is trying to force is to gestures. You can use side sense to give you that back (previous) nearly anywhere on the screen you desire.
One thing the back lights of the phone can sort of bring back is the different colored leds that phones used to have by the ear speaker. I used to religiously use my multi colored led to tell what kind of notification i had.
Also, you don’t need to look at the device. You just have to wake the lock screen. Personally, i think the swipe in from the right is faster and more reliable than long pressing the icon.
Keep in mind this was posted during the “Quantity over quality” era of LMG, so mistakes or misinformation in videos around this time is pretty high and pretty common
I have to say I love dbrands marketting, their snarky humour really makes me laugh, though I am afraid they're slowly going insane. Dbrand ad reads are becoming some of my favorite parts of linus videos
That looks like a stock android experience. My pixel 6 does literally every one of the things you pointed out. Though the back button isn't there, all you have to do is swipe from right to left or left to right to go back.
Nothing is not built by Google at least. But it uses mostly stock android so it's still controlled by Google anyways. So I guess yeah, no difference there. But I think price is a big difference. Nothing Phone seems a lot more affordable.
This is really cool for people who don’t hear well. My grandma has hearing problems and sometimes doesn’t hear the phone ringing. But these lighting effects would surely get her attention!
I feel like a lot of the things he attributed to the phone are actually just standard android 12 things. Eg; scrolling screenshots, gesture navigation, battery remaining time in settings
I have pixel, and android 12 allows me to switch between bt and speaker right from sound menu, also it allows me to edit (crop and doodle) and send screenshots directly. Double tap for camera launch is also available plus better photos. It's better to go for pixel if you want android
To comment on the screenshot sharing conudrum, you have to tap on the *picture* of the screenshot to enter the quick editing mode in stock android Linus. That allows for quick markup, cropping, and sharing all from one screen! Hope this helps, (if it gets seen)
Doesn't work like that on the Phone (1) unfortunately. No matter if I tap the picture or the edit button, I always get prompted to choose an app to edit the image...
I actually like the conversational and exploratory tone of this video. too many of the new review videos from chanels and creators I actually really like are becoming too commercial and polished. it seems fake and dramatic when others do that. 10/10 for me. it came off personal and real
There is a mistake you made Linus, 9:05 , double press open Apple Pay, maybe you did not configure it, it is used often. And you can just open camera by swipe.
Hey Linus just a FYI! The drawing gesture to launch apps/functions was present during Carl Pei's time at One Plus. I had it on my One Plus 2. You could draw a "O" to launch the camera app, a "V" to turn on the flashlight and even media controls with drawing a "||" with two fingers pausing or playing the track and "< " or ">" for next track. Honestly, I really loved these drawing gestures as they work with your phone screen off and you can do it without looking. The flashlight shortcut is especially useful if you are using it in a tight space and only have one hand available and the music shortcut meant I could just reach into my pocket and change tracks and stuff without pulling my whole phone out. But like you said more options are always nice! (On the topic of buttons launching the camera app can someone other than Sony please make a dedicated camera button???? Honestly rather have that then a dedicated smart assistant key like so many phones)
I do agree, I quite liked the gesture on my OnePlus 3T. However, since swapping to Pixel Experience, holding the power button with the phone off to turn on the flashlight is a much easier to use experience. I always used to end up turning my flaslight on accidentally in my pocket, but I don't know if that was a common issue or not.
When i had a Samsung s20 (worst phone ive ever used) i had an app that reconfigured the bixby button to whatever you wanted, at the time i used it to open spotify so i could change songs without looking at the screen while driving
Just a small side note, you can swipe left on iOS lockscreen to also open the camera, but yes, double press of a power button is probably still faster.
On iPhone I don't mind though, because double power button opens apple pay, which I actually use sometimes. I wouldn't mind a setting though to change the behavior so that it doesn't HAVE to do it that way. Idk how you would use apple pay without that though... I guess you'd have to open the app?
The only thing it seems to be missing which I love on OP is a dedicated ring/vibrate/silence slider. Use that so often. This looks like a solid contender for replacing my OP6t though.
YES! I use this nearly everyday. I use it a lot to just quickly slide the notification slider in my pocket when I'm in a meeting. Super effortless, and don't need to awkwardly take my phone out during the meeting.
OnePlus has it set up so that when you change the volume, right above the volume level there's a quick menu to change your output device which is pretty cool, so they do technically do that
There is no need for special hardware for this feature for example Xiaomi devices already have something like this without special hardware u can set the edges of the screen to light up whenever u get a message (u can customise color ofc)
Personally, I really miss the notifications LED's that were on the s3. It was a great way to tell what a notification was by the color, without having to turn on the screen, and was so much better than the always on display for battery life. And unlike this system, it worked with a case on the phone
Hey Linus again, everything you said about the interface is from AOSP, they are available on Google devices, the battery remaining time, OEM unlocking etc.. This is stock Android. You used to Samsung One UI that's why you're impressed.
@@rjpearson it's not weird ;) I was unlucky enough to try some of their phones in the past 5 years, and their software is just... Well, it's worse to have it than to be on stock Android - that should be enough said! A pity that LG closed their mobile division, V30 was a great phone!
@@bajter yeah, not a huge fan of Samsung from prior phones I had but it still is surprising that basic Android features in stock Android are removed for One UI...
I would like to see those cons you just put in this vlog in a new debunk of the new Phone 1. All those software bugs just went away after the 1.5 stable update and you need to appreciate they came up with the improvements in a 6 months period. Well, 6 months sounds like a lot of time but this is the 4th update of Nothing OS and the mere 6 months is a short period actually to collect all feedback from users and make a 100% fix for the New Year Bash. Great Job done Nothing team, I must add.
Funny, a lot of the complaints Linus had are actually stock Android "issues". Same with the good features. This phone is pretty close to stock Android like the Pixel 6 (Pro). Hotspot should have its own Quick Access button below for easy enabling and disabling. (I guess those two big things at the top are NothingOS stuff?) Image editing looks slightly different but overall behaves the same on Android 12. (closing after editing) Double Press lock button for Camera is a Android (12) thing in stock. The touch navigation is also stock, same with the removal of the option for 2 button style or changing the 3 button order. (iirc removed in Android 10-11 already.) On the BT suggestion, this looks to be a stock volume setting, so with Android 12 there is actually a option where you can select where an app plays its audio, if you have multiple BT devices connected. Battery time remaining is also a stock Android 12 feature.
Came here to say this. Alot of it is just stock, and in typical Google fashion they are all valid issues which Google has changed things for change sake and in turn made it worse. Linus is used to using OneUI on Samsung which is now arguably better than stock, a weird turn of events.
Which is why I love(d) OxygenOS so much. The only changes they made enhanced stock Android experience, and there are only a handful of customizations that were lacking and those were all fixed with a root (which I always do anyway) and GravityBox.
Ya but the screen shot sharing issue isn't a thing on my pixel you can share after editing, and the Bluetooth switching option is there if you scroll down to from the top and click the top right of now playing where it shows you were the sound is coming from. I will be honest with you I'm not sure if those are pixel things because I have not used a truly AOSP rom in a while since I've been on a pixel.
@@ChazTyldsley outside of the wallpaper this looked identical to my pixel 6. Notifications, system settings, screen shots -- all of it is stock android. I wish they would have improved on this because stock android isn't amazing. But hey, maybe this phone's fingerprint reader will actually work and maybe its wifi will consistently work without dying and not telling you, because my pixel 6 is complete garbage.
@@ChazTyldsley Yep, everything Linus mentioned is feature of Samsung OneUI. Samsung has essentially fixed Android issues on their phone for year now. Even Samsung is the one forcing Google to improved supporting tablet and foldable devices. One UI isn't perfect but at least they care more than Google with their stock Android UI.
OxygenOS's handling of Bluetooth audio devices was possibly one of my favorite features. Even auto-switching behavior and easy access to changing devices without having media playing just made the entire experience very seamless.
Few issues that are mentioned here like animation weirdness, screenshot annoyances, are partly due to the AOSP Android 12 which they based their OS upon. AOSP 12(and above) has been problematic with regards to Launcher animations (anything 'Quickstep' related specifically) since Day1 (No wonder pixel was buggy). I won't say 'at the moment', Nothing OS is like 'current oxygen os (pre oos12)' because Oxygen OS (pre-12) was kinda heavily (but extremely tastefully, practically, clean-ly) modified with so many features that are ACTUALLY useful, whereas right now, nothing feels more like Lineage OS/Pixel Experience. I'm looking forward to see it evolve to the Oxygen OS everyone visioned to be like since years.
Great first look/review! And it seems like the majority of Linus' annoyances with the OS are essentially the same as it seems to be almost exact with the stock Android 12. Very suttle differences they made.
He completely glossed over the "unique" feature of the phone though, because he didn't see himself using it? I have no idea from this review if there is more to those lights than the "who is calling" feature. The review is 15 minutes of talking about stuff that is similar across alot of android devices, especially ones with near-stock OSs.
I had a morotola G back on 2015, and their camera shortcut was by far the best I've ever used. You had to tip your phone forward and back and it would open your camera app. They also had a flashlight shortcut where you just made a chopping motion
8:50 I had a similar reaction at how to launch the camera app from the lock screen when I recently upgraded to an iPhone 13 Then I discovered you can swipe left to open the camera app on an iPhone (without looking at the FaceID sensor), which works well enough
I've worked for a major carrier for 8 years, and it's been a very long time since i've seen something that made me think "Oh, that's kinda neat". Edit: Really just the clear glass backplate. Looks kinda fun
12:40 in Android 12 that's actually made really easy natively already. When audio is playing, the audio panel in QuickSettings/Notifications includes a playback device switcher in its upper right corner
@@pu239 Gotta remember that RU-vid app functionality is different for each carrier, brand, phone model, time of day, what planets are in alignment so not all functionality is guaranteed
@Carl Gunderson yes, I noticed. I have to say, that's quite surprising, especially since the amount of potential consumers in North America is absolutely massive. Edit: do you have any speculation as to why it hasn't launched for the United States and Canada?
@@JamesLikesCoffee well, Pei started up Nothing in the UK, so it wouldn't be the same reason as why certain Chinese company phones aren't in US & Canada. As a small start up, in the UK, it probably just cost less to start with the UK, EU market. US Canadian carriers have made it that much harder and more expensive to penetrate the NA market. The big players can afford the carrier deals and accept carrier bloat. Cutting that bloat is part of the cost savings and experience on a phone like the Nothing. Just look at the mess Sony has gone through pulling out of the NA market and slow return and they're still not back in Canada and many SA. If the majority of North Americans would buy unlocked phones out right or on their credit card and also maybe better regulated the carriers, then it would be different. Instead the majority in their attempt to be cheap, have encouraged the situation where we all pay more. So many are under water, they can't afford to buy even the most budget phone outright to change this situation. It's not just phones. American class bias is such people refuse to give up their middle class lifestyle long enough to improve their finances, because heaven forbid anyone think they're poor. Basically the majority of Americans live beyond their means and are classist liars. It was a 💡moment for me why so many morons on the net seem to think the I spent more $, so I'm superior to you argument on the net exists. When if you really looked into their finances, they're morons, when they're not just outright fantasists, liars and trolls. back to phones, Americans pays more for their service and pays more in monthly payments on carrier deals & they do think that's cheaper than buying the phone, because they're either too poor or they can't do math.
@@bipbop3121 wow, gotta say that was a lot more of an in-depth answer than I expected, but a happy surprise nonetheless. I suppose socioeconomic status is a key factor, but I didn't actually realise that 'Nothing' was set up here in the United Kingdom. Thanks for the insight!
Quick correction for opening the camera app from the lock screen on the iPhone - you can just slide the screen to the left. And you don’t have to look at it.
Correction, he didn't swipe to the left, he just literally pressed the camera icon on the lockscreen. Which was not wrong.. just an alternative from swiping.. lol
And here we see what happens is actually Murphy's law cursing Linus, he doesn't drop things, it's the universe that makes him drop things, and when it can't, it drop things ON HIM.
The lights on the back would be a GODSEND to my mother who is hard of hearing and doesn't get her attention grabbed consistently by her flash. That alone may be enough for me to try to get her to switch over from Apple phones.
Carl did a great job of making an unique phone all out of Nothing, he brings me back to the days of OnePlus . It's amazing how he creates hype from Nothing. I wonder how well it will do in the market however.
"Joel Conolly 5 hours ago (edited) Gotta admit it to Carl. He basically made hype for an averagely normal phone all out of Nothing. You really can't fault the man who basically created a phone from something before and restarted everything from scratch. "
Xiaomi actually has a pretty neat implementation for changing bluetooth devices, thouch the corner of the bluetooth button and it gives you a list of mated devices.
@@ninjal7588 Samsung does have that feature. but it's not very well visible if you click the Bluetooth text, it would open your paired device list within quick settings
Every time I watch videos about phones it just makes me pine so hard for the ability to meticulously design one myself, perfectly tailored to my tastes.
12:30 the OnePlus 3T has the ability to switch Bluetooth devices, when you tap volume button you can select the icon at the top which allows you to select what output device you'd like for your audio
12:50 Samsung does somewhat allow you to add a quick audio output switcher using their sound assistant app, but it only works for quick switching between your phone and the most recently connected audio device....
Not just somewhat, it does exactly that. You can even connect multiple bluetooth devices and broadcast to all of them at once and customize the volume for each one individually.
I just have to chime in to say, that actually the iPhone has a function on double pressing the lock-button Atleast here in Germany it opens the Apple-Pay process
true, it is an option in Settings -> Wallet & Apple Pay but I'm not sure if it's the default, I was so confused when Linus complained it didn't do anything - I use it all the time
Well Linus, at least on Android 12 you switch between audio devices with a little button on the media controls. It works pretty well, you don't have to go into the Bluetooth settings and if you're listening to music the controls will already be front and center on your lock screen
This phone (and company) has the potential to become the best android phone for devops/pentesters/hackers/developers if they include everything such as NFC, IR blaster and other modules that may be beneficial
Loved how this phone looks, my phones usually on silent and sitting on my desk so if the lights worked for varying notifications I'd probably get a lot of use out of it. Not available in NA though :( Lots of advertisement through videos by NA creators, but you can't even utilize 5G networks with this unfortunately. Really a let down.
Genuine Question. Has 5g improved your phone usage personally? I'm still on the OP7 Pro without 5g and all the videos on it are really mediocre at best.
Meh. I honestly haven't seen one person actually using 5G, so this actually would seem like a plus to me. Plenty of people I've seen actually get better speeds on LTE or 3G for streaming, probably with better battery life
Honestly I miss the little led blinkers. I never had to check my phone for notifications and I hate always on displays. I'm now on my phone so much more often checking for notifications
People have already mentioned the double power button on the iPhone bring up the wallet - but you can actually set double tapping the back of the phone (or triple tapping if you want) to open the camera, go to home, open the app switching interface or a few other things
0:47 "I gravitated toward the white one like, I think pretty much everyone else, but now that I've seen the black one in person, (this is my first time!) I like it better!" - Linus, 2022
As someone who has custom vibration tones for everyone important in their contact list, I would have loved to see the customization options for the glyph interface in this video. I am absolutely the type of person who places the phone face down and would wait for a light to blink, especially in a specific pattern to know who and what it was.
On the topic of ways to activate the camera, I've always been a HUGE fan of Motorola's motion controls. Two quick shakes for the flashlight, and two quick half-rotations for the camera, super quick and easy to do between your pocket and in front of you
Hey Linus, the iPhone camera can be accessed by swiping left on the lock screen as well. No need for a long press on the camera button. Its surprisingly fast to lift your phone up for the faceid and then swipe left.
Doesn’t even need Face ID. The camera, just like the calculator if you open if from control center, doesn’t need the phone to be unlocked. You can open the camera without looking at the device at all.
Doesn't have to turn on my Samsung for camera, double tap power and then tap the volume up to take the picture, basically in 1 second tops you take your picture
Moto X PURE has that all beat. Just Double twist with the wrist, and Vwa-Lah,Camera ready to shoot from Lock Screen ! Fastest Dam thing I ever seen. It might be yesterdays Flagship, but i still love it.
The lights have great potential for accessibility, though, which I think is awesome. A lot of people who are hard of hearing rely on the camera flash on smart phones to let them know when they have a notification if their phone isn't on them. I'd love to see more companies get creative with things like that.
It's a great phone, but it also has some drawbacks in common with the flagships : no headphone jack, no sd card and no notification led (well there is the back light, but if you keep the phone with the screen visible to eventually read the message when it arrives you cannot see the back light...) And btw the best camera shortcut is still the dedicated two step button like on the xperias
Not. Worse materials and more expensive than Pixel, similar materials and DEFINITELY worse spec than Xiaomi competitors while costing twice as much. It's a 250/300€ phone sold for 500/650 just because it looks cool and is by Carl Pei.
I'm a little surprised they left that bit in at the very end, with Linus getting attacked by part of the set or whatever it was. I'm not complaining, just surprised.
Was just about to say the same, it's one of the features of the 8T I really like. Having said that, I'm getting more and more bugs every update rather than it getting better XD
@@karanbirsingh2408 on some androids (maybe stock?) that top button in the volume pop-in cycles through the ring, vibrate and silent modes, and this phone probably does that too because it doesn't have a dedicated hardware switch. He had the phone in vibrate mode based on the icon. The output device button on One Plus phones is a different icon with sound waves coming out the top of the phone (when using the phone speakers) and at least on my 7 Pro it even says "media output" under the button too, probably to help draw attention to it being different than the stock button it replaced.
Many of the features you are impressed with are found in stock Android too. Don't get me wrong, it is a good thing that they are not trying to reinvent the wheel.
Give me another mainstream phone company with this... Had used pixel3 XL, but it's getting old (also a battery scare ; bloated) . So tried to get a new phone from telecom (cos it's still much cheaper in short term). LG pooped the crap few year back, Samsung is the most popular here. So... S22+ it is (still hates the Samsung skin, last time I used it, it was G S2)
Been with the S10 and I guess I'm still sticking with it. A Headphone Jack is a must for me. Not really any reason to upgrade anyways because it still does literally everything that I need it to.
The only reason I went from my Note 9 or 10 to a 20 was because it was straight across credit from At&t and battery was getting a little old. If I had realized I could have traded in my wife's old iphone 7 instead, I would have sold the note 20 and kept my old phone.
Linus one thing to note is on iPhone (when enabled) double clicking the lock button launches Apple Pay. I find it convenient (perhaps moreso than launching the camera) but perhaps I am also brainwashed by the fruit men.
@@nogoat nah, the problem being, under the white sticker there is still something black to cover the wireless coil module… BTW no wireless charging coil are really exposed anyway, since they somehow need to be tied together using other materials.
Hey Linus!!! (8:50-9:05) you can use the apple logo on the back of an Iphone to customize so that double tap or triple tap on the logo opens camera or on flash etc.
12:00 oh no, I LOVE a totally flat screen. Means it's actually doable to install a glass screen protector that fits well up to the border. Since I'll install one of these anyways the discomfort is not affected. Not everyone feels like either handling their phone like porcelain or having to buy a new phone / replacing the screen every now and then.
Oxygen OS also tells you how long the battery will last. I'd like to see the lockscreen "gestures" on more phones e.g. draw two lines like a pause ⏸️ to start/stop music. C for camera or whatever to launch an app or toggle flash.
OnePlus 7t pro user here. I have access to my Bluetooth items via a quick menu in the volume mixer. Guess this guy is responsible for that nicety as well👍🏿
I love how alot of the positive software features are just features built into android 12, nearly all the positive software features I already have on my pixel 6 pro
Re: camera activation - I love how my Moto does it via motion gestures. The camera can be activated by a quick double-twist of the phone. Super fast and doesn't require looking at the device to activate. Similarly, "flashlight" functionality is activated by a double-chop gesture.
Yes, also they have a headphone jack, micro sd slot and come with the fastest charger brick for the model, I will never but a phone without the headphone jack for as long as I can.
I mean, the Pixel does all of theses things as well. The double tap to launch camera has been there since the Nexus days, to the point that it is ingrained in me. I am genuinely considering picking one of these up to replace my moms Pixel 2, or to have as a backup phone for the drawer. Definitely a neat little device.
Wait for pixel 7 now, pixel 6 has a very average fingerprint sensor. It's a feature that you're gonna use everyday. I'm also on pixel 2 and it's running fine, only battery is at 66 percent capacity so it discharges quickly.
@@borngeek I'm running a 6 pro, I have had every pixel on the market save for the 4 which I gave to my grandmother who is now on a pixel 5. This phone would be a great backup phone or general use phone if it ever made it stateside
