. I used to go down there and the traffic was crazy during certain special event evenings. MUNI gets backed up and any car traffic... well you can just forget it. . The isolation and lack of people at certain hours was a bit scary. The expansion of UCSF medical complex is adding traffic issues. Not enough green space living in those towers and on the land it is isolating and emotionally depressing without trees or parks to hang out in alone. no thanks.
I actually really enjoyed living there-it was great when I was working downtown and they’ve done a great job creating outdoor park spaces. But they’re just not that big and it doesn’t feel like true SF living. Serves a purpose if you work downtown or South Bay tho
The reason traffic is so bad these days is because everyone is texting and driving- sitting at green lights and inconveniencing everyone around them - not to mention causing accidents
I don’t think it’s fair to say SOMA has bad traffic. The ballpark is more of China basin than soma. The beacon is literally on the border of soma and China basin. The rest of soma is fine.
Trying to get anywhere around the Bay Bridge through SOMA during rush hour is horrendous. Other parts of SOMA further toward 7th and higher is fine. But lower than 5th is awful.
Did the transit options in that part of SOMA get better or worse after the "T" line that now runs to Rose Pak station got finished? Both the T and the N used to run on the same track past the ballpark, and now it's just the N-Judah.
Ah, the traffic. Thank you, Willie Brown. Payback to his real estate developer gangsta clan. He developed the hell into South of Market. And I see they're turning all of the Oracle Park parking lots into high-rise condos and apartment buildings. Uh oh.
San Francisco is also a huge plus for you because youre gay. SF is the most pro gay place on earth. That adds some bias heteros dont really get the benefit of.
