8:45 Hilariously, contractually that WAS Shadow. For years, that's literally what he was stuck being. SEGA wanted him kept as the edgy, frustrated Vegeta to Sonic's Goku, and until just a little while ago they had a contract clause for anyone who did licenced stuff with him that Shadow was not permitted to have character development.
