I'm 16 and this is all I listen too. My bluegrass, 40-90's country, Gospel I also had the opportunity of going to see Ricky Skaggs in October he puts on an amazing show. I also seen Clint Black two days after that.
Ricky skaggs, what a voice that guys got, what in hell has happened to country music this last decade, this is what country music is all about. God bless and keep it going.
I would Happily die to this song , with Gods Grace ,.... bless you all no matter where you are from , our mission is to spread the love and eliminate hatred .... bless
You can say what you want,Ricky Skaggs brought back "country music" ,back in the early '80's when it was headed for extinction. Thank God, they played the hell out of his music then, and saved the real country music from what was turning into pop music at the time. Then most of the new '80's artists, followed his lead and most gave us some damn good music. I ran out and bought the album (on Sugar Hill Records),that featured this song after hearing it on the "Big John Trimble Show" on WRVA. Thanks Ricky, for giving us a real alternative to the pop country that was taking over the airwaves at the time.
Ricky personifies greatness in hear felt music and song. His infusing traditional country with grass roots bluegrass creates that unique Ricky sound. Ricky is Gods gift to a troubled world in need of healing. Paul in Canada
Ricky, you are nothing short a fantastic. These country singers, COULDN'T shine your shoes. I, can only imagine, how proud your mom and dad must be of you. May God, bless you richly always.
Hello 👋 Barbara. How are you doing? Hope you are fine, I'm Mark Clifford am from Denver Colorado. Where you are from? You seem like a real country girl
@@barbarawagner5938 that's nice. I have been to New York so many years ago and it's very nice there, I will love to visit again. I'm presently working in the Pacific sea. Have you been to the sea before?
As Ricky sang and the country band played, the camera worked its way around and focused in on some of the real country artists listening to the song. What a happy kind of sadness I had remembering many of them who have since passed away but at the same time left a legacy of songs down through the years. How appropriate and fitting it is that the camera focused in on probably the most recent of these stars who passed away but who accompanied so many well-known artists with his guitar - Jimmy Capps. Thanks so much brotherhamlet for sharing these treasured artists from the past and those still singing today.

And to think, this is mostly an unrehearsed session. It gives one pause to consider the amount of talent gathered there. The emotions drawn by the fiddle, steel guitar, and Jimmy Capps is truly outstanding.
It was Ricky who got me in to country when I was living in San Diego a long way from my beloved New Zealand, this was in 1983 the year Australia won the America’s cup
@@joobchrismac8706 If you're guessing Gary Dixon is about 44 years old, that would be nice. If you add another 40 years to it you would be smack on. 84. I need hearing aid to hear this beautiful music, but they work perfectly.

Wow, That should be a Number One Hit. I would love to see it happen. That is a Country song with Great Country Entainers singing it. Nashville needs to wake up.

Good heavens! He sings as good now as he did in the 80s when he recorded this song! How can that be!? And the harmonies were incredible. This was really something!

Absolutely to everything you say. And Ricky always had a knack of taking a bluegrass number, in this case originally done by The Stanley Brothers, and make it "country". But we know, of course, as does he, that "country and "bluegrass" are siblings.
