If I recall her story correctly, she basically went to the audition with her IRL friend who now plays Okayu, and while there they liked her so much they offered her a job too.
The situation is more like Fubuki suggested Yagoo to reach out to Korone, Okayu and Mio as their new batch of talents, as Fubuki knew them and think they have the potential. This is where gamers gen comes from. Korone and Okayu happens to know and was friend with each other too, they were in the same industry afterall. Basically they were invited by Cover directly instead of the open hiring process for new talents.
she looks a lot different now in the video, actually most of the current Hololive members look very different from their old photo videos online in better way
Unless you ask Matsuri. She is often super self deprecating because she's put on a lot of weight since she started streaming. Although given she used to be an IRL idol her definition of "a lot of weight" isn't exactly normal.
@@ayayaybamba3445 Yeah Matsuri got fat (normal fat, not American fat) but Korone must have lost some weight in order to do the flip she did a few months ago.
I like how she is a lot less energetic here. It really goes to show that sometimes the line between their irl and their fake identities is apparent but it's also very thin as she seems almost exactly like her alter ego, albeit more like a normal human rather than a on crack person.
It only makes sense their “stream-sonas” are more energetic than their day to day selves. You have to fill dead air and be entertaining on stream and you don’t need to be like that all the time. Not even super genki chaotic streamers like Ollie, Haachama, Polka are like that in real life. There’s probably loads of little things like that they exaggerate on stream just for viewers entertainment.
I believe Korone once said on cam that she and Okayu's vtuber personalities are actually them imitating each other in real life. So real life Korone acts more like Okayu, and Real life Okayu acts more like Korone
