Great demonstration of this machine! If you search for continuous bias binding you can make metres of binding from one fat quarter sewing only 2 seams. I learned the technique from a quilter.

Sounds great but in my research I found various ways but not one with only two seams. I found one where you cut the fat quarter into triangles rejoined it and then drew on the lines then joined at the sides. It was not my favourite method. Happy to have a link to a different one.

I was fortunate enough to be given a machine at Christmas, I love it 🥰 I do consider myself to be very lucky 🍀 Fabulous vlog 😊. There is definitely a knack to using this machine but once you get the hang of it it’s fantastic ❤

I have known about this machine for some time, and i want one sooooo much. Problem is that its expensive so i am reluctant to pull the trigger.

I have considered buying one of these, but not done it yet. I could not bring myself to cut bias on anything other than a 45 degree angle :-) Maybe that's wasteful. I like the idea of the piping creator. Interesting video, thank you. Good to see it in action

Thank you. I can assure you I have used many of the bias I have cut on less and it's been fine especially the quilting cottons that had some stretch. Unless you are going around a circle then you don't need that much stretch. If you join the podcast membership there's a discount to help with the purchase. X

Which episode of the podcast do you talk about bias binding please. I was given a machine for my birthday and am keen to learn all I can to make the perfect bias tape. I’m still finding it a bit fiddly but that’s more to do with my sewing together of the fabric strips I think.

Just wondering how you cut your binding? If you included the selvedge then it wouldn’t be bias. When quilting you don’t need bias I’ll watch on, I think I got to the cutting stage now I recommend a long quilting ruler when cutting out. A specific ruler is the right thickness to roll your rotary cutter against and keeps it on line. You mentioned notes here but I can’t see any. It is early in the morning though

Very impressed by all of the bias tape - I’ve seen your vlog with the patchwork quilted jacket, what else have you used it for? Also, how do you line it up with the standard 1.5 seam allowance? Do you have to trim the seam allowance first? Sorry I’m totally new to this technique…..

@@elizabethsaint5804 I often use bias tape on the inside of necklines and also to hidden ugly seams. On the interior waistband of a pair of trousers or skirt. To edge a skirt. I cut the seam down once I've attached the bias pieces together to reduce bulk. If you are asking about seam allowance when attaching the pieces I would recommend googling how to make bias tape. Sewing in the city has a very clear one about joining the pieces together.
