Interesting thing most people don't know as it isn't well documented (and also isn't very obvious), but apparently Burning Hell for Red Mountain is actually a remix of Crying World from Ristar. I only learned about it after playing Burning Hell online and noticing the title said that it was. Confused I looked up Crying World, and yeah, I can kinda see where it came from. It's really not obvious though.
Every new video of yours just keeps getting better! At this point I may be sounding like a broken record, but this is my new favorite video of yours. It’s extraordinarily well-made! And I had several laughs throughout. It’s a shame these videos have to end because I really enjoy hearing you talk!
Dope review dude! Honestly you deserve more likes and comments! I'm a part of a ton of sonic groups online and I'm going to share this video so you can get more recognition! Keep being awesome! You deserve to be huge
I had no idea you are still making content. It's really interesting to see how your editing and script writing has improved in the last few years. Guess this means I need to catch up on your other reviews. Also, I have some neat info about that early lighting you mentioned briefly in the video. for the most part, the changes were not made to make the game easier to run on Dreamcast, but rather for aesthetic purposes. The difference lies in how colors are handled, in that the final game typically uses blends colors with gradients, whereas the prototype often has a sharp contrast between bright and dark colors, leading to what looks to be more dynamic lighting at first glance. There are some exceptions to this, but generally, the above information still applies. Source: making a mod that recreates most of the old lighting.
My Known Sonic Adventure Positive Opinions 1. Is both my first Sonic game I ever played and best favorite Sonic game of my six favorite Sonic games. 2. Was both just the first thing I knew about Sonic and made me a Sonic fan in the first place, even before I knew Sonic is also a famous video game mascot and especially Mario's rival. 3. Is just the first redesigned Modern Sonic game and better than the Classic Sonic games. 4. Adventure/Open world gameplay than just linear gameplay. 5. The other main characters than only Sonic are also playable in the story. 6. Darker and edgier. 7. Anime-esque. 8. The characters’ redesigned Modern designs are more anime-esque and better than their Classic designs. 9. The characters sharing one story from each perspective of the story. 10. The game taking place both in a big American city-based city "Station Square" and a jungle "Mystic Ruins". 11. The linear levels aren't so hard. 12. There is an anime adaptation of the game, «Sonic X». 13. Nostalgic reminds me of some of my other nostalgic childhood Nintendo 64 games and have same similar 3D graphic style as Nintendo 64 games I had before Sonic Adventure, like Donkey Kong 64, Banjo-Kazooie, Diddy Kong Racing, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarine of Time, and Pokemon Stadium. 14. The Soundtrack. 15. It has a remaster version "Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut" better than the original Dreamcast version. What Known Sonic Adventure Negative Opinions 1. There are only few other Open World/Adventure Sonic games like Sonic Adventure. 2. There's no remake. 3. The game isn't a reboot even when it's just the first Modern Sonic game as Sonic '06 which was just intended to be a reboot. 4. There are no missions from the non-playable characters as in Sonic '06 and Sonic Unleashed.
I enjoy Cooper's Perspective. I get a lot of enjoyment out of them. The Sonic Adventue episode was one of my favourite episodes, though I think you'll have really improved your review on the game a lot. I'm going to sit down today and watch this new re-review of Sonic Adventure!
41:08 Well I mean there are in-game instructions for all of the characters before you start their campaigns... Which when I played Sonic Adventure for the first time I did not even bother to look at and I kind of got confused of what to do in the first big stage 🤣
27:57 I’m pretty sure one of the main reasons why Big and Gamma were part of the game was because SEGA wanted to add fishing to show off the Dreamcast’s water and to add a shooting play style in the game (cause fans really wanted that back then), hence why they created characters to fit those elements since none of the other characters could work with those play styles.
One of my favorite reviewers strikes back! I played the game for the first time a few months ago with the Dreamcast conversion mod and I thought it was good. Not amazing but I liked it.
this could be a documentary, really a good job. i love this game as a kid, i play ed over and over. i didn't know english so i just player for the gameplay. like i discovered super sonic li 1 year after i first played sonic, becose i never played all the storie at 100% and when i first tried my little brother Deleted the save files... i played the dx Port, so the models didn't bothered me,but you are right, dream cast texture and models are better. always found it strange how the Red mountains level didn't have nothing Red... now i get it. Splendind job!
I’m pretty sure the Sonic chant from the Final Story is from that same Japanese announcement event with the Yuji Naka intro, hence them saying “Sonikku” and not “Sonic.”
Controversial take but I honestly can’t believe most people prefer Live and Learn to Open Your Heart. Open Your Heart has the best fucking FMV to go along with it, it has the cinematic intro in the first couple seconds, it has more polished production, the vocals are better, THAT SOLOOOOOOO
Your introduction to sonic adventure was quite similar to mine. I didn’t know what Sonic Adventure was until I started watching those silly brawl machinima videos from early 2010s By then, I was introduced to Adventure 2 and Live and Learn (the first rock song I have listened to) I didn’t watch anything related to Adventure 1 the first time until I listened to the Bentley Jones remix of Open Your Heart. I suppose the difference was how good music can be in this franchise 😅
I feel sorry for the voice actors and directors. 10 people from SEGA of Japan breathing down the voice teams neck talk about an invasion of privacy. I understand that it might be appropriate over in Japan to do that with your voice teams. In the US however, that's just bothersome to "Give suggestions." while these folks were working. No wonder why Ryan spoke out about it. He has every right to be upset. This game is about a C grade in my mind as like with the other four games. Adventure, Adventure 2, Heroes and Shadow all need full blown remakes. Hopefully if Paramount dose well with Sonic 3 will get those remakes.
Sonic Adventure is my favorite Sonic game rivalled only by my favorite 2D Sonic game Sonic CD and my second favorite Sonic game Sonic Adventure 2. Sonic Adventure is everything I want in a Sonic game an entertaining and emotional story cool villains likeable and entertaining heroes and supporting cast great voice cast soundtrack gameplay and for it's time the graphics are exceptional I love this with all my heart it's not just my favorite Sonic game it's also one of my favorite video games of all time.
Personal opinion I don’t think knuckles and tails need the spin dash like sonic. I kinda prefer them not having it since it make them feel like themselves
Sonic Adventure is my favorite sonic game but it fails 100% at recreating the 2d gameplay. This is not a bad thing. I love the gameplay of sonic's levels. Pariah actually goes into full detail as to why it is so different from the classics and im inclined to agree. What about sonics stages reminds you of the 2d games? Levels are far more linear. Alternate paths rarely exist. Spam dashing completely breaks levels and is fundamentally different from the 2d games. Again, love the sonic stages in this game a change in gameplay is not a bad thing. But it is absolutely not a faithful translation of the 2d games
I’ve literally never played the whole game before…I gave it a try with PlayStation NOW and immediately got stuck after fight Eggman 😶😅 but I’m glad you guys enjoy it 🤷♀️ 19.6.22
With this game being a childhood overlook to me, and finally beating the game on PS3, yeah the later Dreamcast ports are definitely overall inferior, just grab the Stream PC version and mod it.
The best Dreamcast/Modern Sonic games were Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. The later Modern Sonic games sucked. Sonic '06 sucked and the Sonic Boom series sucks.
