I LOVE THE GOSPEL, BUT I HATE CALVINISM
1 Corinthians 1:18-19 "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."
1 Corinthian 15:1-4 "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"
2 Corinthians 11:3 "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ."
John 3:16-18 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

Calvinism does IN FACT teach that ANYONE who puts their faith in Christ is saved. I don't think you understand Calvinism very well.

"Anyone" or "only" the ones that God selected before the world began?

@@proveallthings_521 If someone puts their faith in Christ, then they are one of God's elect. We both agree that whoever puts their faith in Christ is saved. The issue is HOW does someone come to faith. I didn't come to faith because I was spiritual enough, or moral enough, or wise enough, etc, but because God performed a work in me that allowed me to see clearly.

Friends, it's really quite simple. Free will and predestination are perfectly compatible in the hands of a perfectly loving, just, and omniscient God. We only debate about it because this is something in the "we can't quite comprehend it" bucket. Finite and time-bound we can only perceive those who have accepted the Gospel, and those who have yet to. Pray without ceasing brothers.

Calvinism is awful. Blasphemous and anti-Biblical. God loves all people and has forgiven all people. Now we need to surrender, repent and believe, and if we do, he will grant us eternal life.
