Our society has such a weird relationship with thinness. Celebs are supposed to be thin and strive to be thin, but simultaneously pretend that they don't want it, care about it or do anything to achieve it.
It's because celebrities are putting on an image of relatability, and the astounding privilege that comes with having all of your meals personally prepared by a chef kind of doesn't jive with that.
They also post things other ppl want to see. No one wants to watch them do food reviews of salads and salmon and fun posts aren’t exactly made from pictures of Mickey shaped protein bowls.
Maybe it’s just that eating nutritional food isn’t always fun and the time that they would reward themselves by eating out with friends, food that are high in sugar is fun and therefore they’d want to take pics and share these fun times in social media. Like the photos of pretzels, cookies, noodles looked so much better compared to the healthy meals
You realize you can also eat healthy without having a chef prepare it for you, right?💀 everyone can eat healthy, they just don’t want to give up their food and stop shoving junk in their faces 🤷🏻♀️
Honestly I think it’s just a normal pattern of social media posting. People tend to eat less healthy when eating out or having a night out, which is also when people tend to take pictures for instagram. It’s less common to take pictures of your daily food from home, which is likely healthier. And I think it’s nice to show that you can enjoy eating out without automatically becoming obese
Ikr these people are overreacting and overthinking. Since when olivia posted a picture eating ramen means she endorses and force people to eat ramen? Smh
yall i used to work at a 5 start resort in montecito that the kardashians come to often. Kylie and her friends would come in and order sooo much food, take pictures and legitimately only eat when they were filming it and left all the rest. It was so sad and disturbing honestly
i’ve seen another comment where someone worked at a restaurant where kendall jenner went to, and they said kendall only took a bite of her food and left the rest, so it matches up
Can you imagine the people who desperately wanna look like these celebrities while they work a 9-5 and theses celebrities have a personal trainer, private chef, surgery, stylists and professional photographer BLOWS UR MIND SRSLY
If you eat properly you don’t even have to work out. Eating healthy doesn’t take up any extra of your time either. People just love to make excuses for stuffing their faces
to be fair, they would be losing money if they didn’t get a private chef. if you’re booked and busy like olivia rodrigo then you literally don’t have time to spend 1-2 hours prepping and cooking healthy foods. it makes complete sense for them to have private chefs and everyone else would do it too
I mean it’s not bs one cookie or soft pretzel won’t make you overweight or unhealthy. You can still be at a good weight and eat what you want in moderation. It’s all about calories, nothing else when it comes to weight. This makes no sense to me.
Exactly! Her obsession with “if it isn’t veggie filled or super nutritious, I can’t have it” is quite annoying. If she actually thinks that those celebrities are faking it when they buy a treat like that to enjoy, she’s deep in an eating disorder and can’t believe that other people can find balance in their diet (eat mostly nutritious meals and enjoy treats for the mental enjoyment from time to time).
@@kenetricethats EXACTLY what she is saying. Shes trying to say that these people arent eating anything they want, they are eating nutritious meals and enjoying 'treats' as moderation, so people shouldnt compare themselves when they cannot eat whatever and not gain weight, because theyre not doing that. Theyre eating healthy food full of nutrients, controlling callories, and yes they have 'treats' in moderation (thats not all they eat). There is nothing wrong in finding alternatives, that can allow someone to be satisfied, healthy and truly enjoy moderation.
@dreamkitty yall should understand that not everyone who eats gains weight easily. Our metabolism differs and while it may be true that she doesn't eat a lot of carbs during the week, it may be down to personal preference and not some goal to lose weight
Even if we obsessed over fatness people will obsess over a specific type of fatness , this problem with thiness is not a societal problem but a human problem , humans want to be special and want to be on top, that's why even in the economic strata of poor , there is good poor and bad poor even though both is just as bad , but humans always want to be on top of each other , even if you make one legs a beauty standard , there would be an acceptable one legged beauty and an unacceptable one legged beauty? We all need to work on ourselves to avoid trying to put ourselves over other people and try to be humble , with humility comes contentment with your looks because your not trying to out do anybody but just take care of yoursels
Tbh I feel like celebrities posting themselves eating unhealthy food is like normal people posting ourselves on the vacation we saved a year to go on. Like it's not the norm so we really want a picture to remember how happy we were that one time
Whats wrong with her posting about eating noddles or a pretzel... It's not like she's eating 100 bowls of noddles, you talk about it like it's a freaking crime...
Dont think people are eating just this and looking like this, and you cant do that because its not realistic because theyre not just eating noodles and pretzels, their overall diet is more like this instead.
@@miche6563 I'm not arguing that, I'm just saying that there's not a problem for posting photos of these types of food, she just talked about it like it was a crime
@mabeldmc No crimes were mentioned. It's unrealistic to think she actually eats those cookies regularly. Don't forget, Hollywood celebrities are the ones over using Ozempic behind closed doors. Then you see them in public, pretending they don't have an eating disorder while looking like they havent had a meal in days, posting selfies, eating from a giant bowl of pasta. That's more of a disordered eating problem. It's a terrible influence on younger, impressionable teenagers that don't understand nutrition and calorie limits.
I think the point she’s trying to make is that they don’t post their nutritious meals they eat on the regular that often. Or it seems that way anyhow. It seems like they’re trying too hard to seem relatable.
maybe they do the same thing we do and post photos of their favorite meals and snacks leave out the boring ones. not every single move a celebrity makes is done to manipulate the public
I don't think they're trying to manipulate the public necessarily. I think there's a romanticization of young thin celebrities eating "cheat" food. It gives the impression that their weight is effortless and they have great genes. When in actuality, it requires a lot of discipline and deprivation to maintain that frame, even with the help of an entire team. There's nothing wrong with them sharing take out food, but it does contribute to society's obsession with women being effortlessly thin. Bc when they try to be thin, now it's an eating disorder or something undesirable. It has to be "effortless". Ofc none of it is their fault, it's just the position they're in.
But why are you guys so obsessed with these celebrities. I see their food posts just as I would anyone else's, they're just saying"Hey guys, I just ate this really cool/delicious thing and I want to post about it"@@KAR_musica
I’m quite thin (5’7 and wear size XS) and sometimes I get comments from friends, asking how I stay thin, while they watch me eat a whole neapolitana pizza with tiramisu for desert. the secret is - I don’t eat like this every day. so instagram stories of influencers might be realistic, just not for every day. at times I have time only for one big meal a day. on other days I might indulge into eating my favourite foods. Mind you, I was 15kg overweight before, so it’s not genetics.
Same, it's not a lie it's just moderation. I will order a large pizza for myself, but it takes me a day and a half to finish cuz I only eat two slices at a time
not always - but it is true that they also have private trainers so that when they are active, they're on a schedule with an individualised exercise plan, so even _that_ is done in a way the rest of the world could never afford.
@@janiyahtheunicorn719 I assumed the original comment was talking about how they naturally live a more active lifestyle (like how someone who hikes a lot naturally lives a healthier lifestyle) because they're busy, when in reality the reason they have more activity is more commonly because they have personal trainers that are there specifically to make routine sets of workouts / diets for them. it's not just because they're always out and about, it's because there's a lot we don't see behind the scenes.
@@kittykatsancheza burger in itself isn’t unhealthy. It’s just meat and bread. It depends on how often you eat it and what’s inside of it. It’s not like a cookie that’s actual junk 100% sugar.
@IGleeker a burger is unhealthy. Trans fat, bread and condiments. I'm not sure what she meant by "all the time" but I'm sure she doesn't. I think celebrities like to lie and make people think they're pretty without trying. Sort of like how pretty girls don't mention all the facials and laser treatments they do if they do them
But like celebs like olivia who perform live on a regular basis probably burn SO MANY calories while performing they probably NEED to eat a lot more than you think
@@grapejooooooss6669 they said she is fit because she preforms.. I just said maybe she has fast metabolism that’s why it seems that way. Also eating junk food doesn’t even necessarily just make you unfit unless you eat it like 5 times a day 24/7
@@Jassy.07498 i think it’s a combination of both genetics and a healthy lifestyle. I don’t think all of them are lying when they’re seen eating junk food. In my own experience I can eat pretty much anything and still be on the brink of being underweight.
Well that’s because most celebrities understand BALANCE, something a lot of your posts lack. You seem to believe that every single meal must be super nutritious, health conscious, low/no sugar, veggie filled, etc. You can’t just enjoy an occasional sugary snack without trying to turn it into some “veggie filled version.” Kylie Jenner didn’t eat a “box of crumbl cookies”, she tried ONE BITE of each other cookies for a video. I find it quite refreshing to see celebrities eating something OTHER THAN super healthy veggie filled foods 24/7. When I see a celebrity that can’t enjoy a cookie or a pretzel with cheese without trying to turn it into a zucchini pretzel or a squash and eggplant cookie, it screams disordered eating to me. Why is balance such a hard concept for influencers to get? So frustrating.
Thanks. Everybody can enjoy a Mountain of pasta - if the next day it'@ a Mountain of veggies with tofu. Or enjoy a big sweet pretzel & having a salad with crunchy chickpeas for Dinner. It's always the balance
I agree. I get that some people need alternative ingredients because of things like food allergies and certain health issues like Celiac disease or Crohn’s disease. But this obsession over making everything oil-free, or under x amount of calories, or free of this or that ingredient that doesn’t affect them, etc. are the reason why orthorexia is becoming more prevalent.
but also, if we are using olivia as an example, she does do much exercise when performing, so it probably wouldn’t matter what she ate. same with so many other artists (think taylor swift, Harry Styles, Tate McRae)
I think the problem is yall thinking too much into someone’s photo of 3 minutes of their day. Calling someone else’s food unrealistic and unsatisfying is kinda disrespectful
I'm fine with that, but if someone complains about their weight, eats whatever they feel like, then says weight problems are completely genetic, I'm going to get annoyed. It's all too common for that to occur any it's exhausting to be around, because basically you're around people who lie.
well she was in Japan of course she's going to eat ramen, in the pretzel one she's on Disney, and kylie is eating crumble cookies for a day duh not daily
I think a lot of insecure people forget that some people are just… naturally thin?😭 so no matter what and how much you eat, you’ll never gain weight like that. And that’s fine, no need to speculate and be jealous.
Weird comment. I don’t think she’s jealous or insecure. She’s showing that celebrities only show what they want us to see. They aren’t eating high calorie foods every meal and somehow still staying thin.
@@cherrytropicshe's not talking about the person who made the video, she's talking about all of the weird comments. Trust me, there will always be people that are jealous if you are naturally thin.
That's not possible, it's not how the laws of physics work, unless you have malabsorption issues. To be naturally thin means you naturally have a smaller appetite compared to most people or are more active
@@g4uzyThe problem is that you don't understand how much fat people actually eat, it's a lot more than you do if you are underweight. Even if the food you both eat is equally unhealthy, the quantities are very different, that and a lot of fat people drink highly caloric beverages that quickly add up
I mean if they’re eating that on a day to day basis then I don’t see why it’s so unusual to see them eat noodles or pretzels when they’re out on vacation or something. I mean we do that alllll the time it’s just human
Honestly it’s not like they posting every time they eat. It feels like I can eat whatever I want but not get fat but in reality I can pig out but also not feel like eating for a whole day. I think some peoples bodies just intuitively know how much is enough and when it’s had too much junk
I read somewhere that humans in our society find it really off putting & cringe to see someone really want something. Like you said, you should be super thin and pretty, but we think its sad and cringe if you admit you really want to be thin & pretty. Its bizarre to think about, why do we hate people really wanting something even if we also want that thing and society tells us that thing is of high value. Same thing as men calling other men simps bc they want women and want to treat them well.
There was this whole trend in movies when i was growing up that girls who eat a ton are attractive, but only if theyre magically staying thin at the same time. Made me really confused what i should be doing hahah
@@Zannciino it's not. I eat whatever I want whenever I want and have never been able to weigh more than 110 pounds. Skinny doesn't automatically mean the person "doesn't eat much food" 🤦♀️
Hi I don’t know about influencers or Models but there’s a Channel call sestudios is a British one where they sit, eat, talk and all that and I have seen Dua lipa and Shania performers talk about how when they perform or are on tour their meals are very different as they are in real life as certain foods, condiments, hot sauce can cause irritations to their vocal cords, heart burns, gasses and all kind of things that they avoid so they can perform comfortably and sing their best hope this helps as I know your channel is educational 😊
I think it’s more they don’t eat those foods all the time but they do eat it and like most people, they post the foods they eat when they go out, not just everyday meals
I think they are just sharing their fun foods, because they are having fun, going out etc. Like I dont post every meal I eat, I post the ones that I think are more intresting, the ones that have memories of hanging out with friends, and I think that's valid Everyone knows that they dont eat like that on a daily basis idk This video is weird
ok but here’s the thing she’s not going to post herself eating a yogurt and fruit bowl like she does everyday, she’s going to post when she goes out to eat. and you can’t really call b.s on her eating the noodles because she’s at a restaurant she didn’t just buy it to not eat it hello 😂
I am skinny, never dieted,I just eat whatever I want. And you know what that means? Our bodies work differently! I would really love a world where we could just go trying things out that we think works for us,not mirror other people's behavior. Eat what makes you feel good when it makes you feel good!
I've worked at a grocery store and in foodservice. I've seen what people put in their carts and order for their meals. There is a very strong relationship between what people order and how they look/how much they weigh. I'm sure there are outliers, and maybe you're one of them. Or, maybe many obese people, minus the ones with health conditions that contribute to weight gain, are eating more than you. And maybe you're also just young.
i fr needed to hear this. iv been beating myself up seeing influencers eating whatever they want and ask myself why im not losing weight even though im eating healthy and working out. i wish people were just more honest about their lifestyles.
@emmethepanda9120 @Sassyunicornstay I'm gonna take a wild guess that neither one of you is over 33. If you are, then you are blessed. But, if you aren't, just wait; with that kind of regimen, you will gain weight in your 30s-40s.
@@Krisco72719 I don’t know what to tell you. My family has been struggling with weight gain for generations. my sister is weightlifting and eating tons of protein just to gain a couple pounds.
No don’t be, she’s pushing disordered eating habits. Normal people can eat pasta and cookies and still be at average weight. Celebrities don’t eat perfectly all the time, they’re not robots.
That’s what I have always said. I’m like they have a whole team insuring how they look. They have nutritionists, private chefs, personal trainers, dermatologists, aestheticians, makeup artists, stylists, etc. There is a whole staff that gets them to look the way they look. Hollywood is an illusion and it was always supposed to be. The irony is most people in Hollywood when asked what they miss most they say being normal. Being able to leave the house on your own unencumbered any way they please and just be themselves instead of this persona.
People always wonder why I’m so “skinny” even with kids because I post I eat junk but they don’t see what 90% of my day is like 😅 it’s like they hate me for eating what “I want “ but realistically I don’t eat EVERYTHING I really want 😂
I see this differently because if these celebrities were posting all the healthy meals they were eating the body positivity cult would be saying how they’re promoting eating disorders and how normal people don’t eat like that. You can’t please everyone no matter what you do people will find something to pick on. Like that one mom who went viral for making homemade goldfish, instead of giving them the processed ones.
Noodles are pure carbohydrates which is just sugar (glucose). When your blood sugar spikes through foods like noodles, it leads to fat storage, hyperinsulinemia, insulin resistance, metabolic disease and eventually diabetes. Also they contain little nutrition.
I was friends with an influencer and was in circles with other ones. They literally take pics of almost biting the food and then throw the uneaten food away after they get the shot. It’s gross
Yup people in these comments don't understand that, "but I eat pasta and don't gain weight", "I eat junk food and am skinny" and then blame it on fast metabolism when it's clear they just aren't eating enough to gain weight
as someone that had to use a diet plan from a doctor to actually GAIN weight, some people do just have the fast metabolism to eat a lot and not gain weight and thats okay too!! its definitely an unhealthy expectation for all because every body is different, ESPECIALLY in regards to weight and metabolism rates. but every body is also beautiful!! just be healthy and eat relatively well, and whatever weight you are, (big or small or somewhere in between) is completely okay!! if you’re taking care of your body and giving it the proper nutrients and exercise it needs, then youre doing everything right!
My best friend for 15 years has always been skinny. She's Asian so I think it's partially genetic, but as a former fat girl who has had to work really hard exercising 5x week and fixing my relationship with food to lose 60lbs I sometimes resent that she is able to eat whatever she wants, never exercise and doesn't gain a pound. It's only recently that I realised she actually walks 10000+ steps daily at work and only eats 2 meals per day (breakfast & dinner - not that I recommend that). She doesn't have a sweet tooth and doesn't snack much day to day, and drinks lots of green tea. It's only when we visit eachother that she eats takeout or snacks. She's actually just got a fairly healthy routine inbuilt so she doesn't have to stress about the odd treat.
If you don’t have the sense to know that celebrities hire expensive trainers, get surgeries, and have private chefs to make healthy meals for them maybe you are the problem. Obviously they eat fast food, fair food, junk food sometimes but they also have access to a lot of resources that others don’t.
I happen to eat a lot and not gain any weight.. I lose some even. I’ve always been skinny my whole life. I got body shamed for it. Started eating extra and never gained any weight still. I only go like a size up when I’m happy and stress free. But being in college I’ve seen my weight start to decline because of the mental stress and busy schedule (I sometimes forget to eat) but when I’m at home some of that weight comes back. Yet I’m still considered very skinny. I think different elements apply to different bodies. Because my diet does not include A-list private chefs yet I couldn’t gain weight even if I tried
Been thin all my life. I can eat whatever I want. I've never dieted or had disordered eating. Everyone's body is different. What everyone needs to fuel themselves to feel satisfied and energized is different. There is no singular diet that is perfect for everyone. If you want to look like celebrities, you need the same thing celebrities have; a lifestyle that is personalized to be perfectly in sync with the way their body works. They do this by using money to hire people who have education to tell them how they need to personalize their lifestyle, then they use money to do those things. _You,_ the average person, can do this by being proactive and making your own effort to get in touch with your body and mind. You may not have the time and money to give yourself beauty rest and cosmetic treatments, but you can learn how to keep yourself in peak health... which results in the peak of your natural beauty.
people ask me how i stay thin a lot and i always say: i don't eat fatty salty foods on the daily. most of the time i eat grilled fish or fried chicken with steamed vegetables/veggie stir fries.
…… unprocessed foods? I’m sorry, did she eat raw chicken and salmon? That eggplant looks baked to me?? Anytime you cook food, you’re processing it. Adding heat to food is processing it. Everything Olivia ate on those photos were processed. Stop with the “unprocessed foods” bullshit, it’s not just harmful it’s wildly inaccurate. As an RD, shouldn’t you know this???
this realistic meals for the working class... salmon with a salad on the side quick and easy... yogurt and fruits quick and easy... baked chicken quick and easy.... when you are on the go so often, you'll feel the difference between a quick small nutritious meal and crumble cookies or whatever crap. love that they eat good for you food ❤
i used to think like that too. then i realized i just don’t eat that much compared to other people. like i eat junk food, but in general my portions for meals just aren’t that big. like 3 slices of pizza max.
Thing is celebrities don’t claim they eat like that on a daily basis, they’re posting it because they don’t eat it often and they wanna remember a nice treat they had. Just like how everyone else posts when they go out to restaurants. I went to a real ramen noodle shop once and I posted it because the bowl looked like art and the food was good. I feel like people want to be constantly reminded that “celebrities don’t really eat like this” as a coping mechanism to cure their insecurities. Celebrities don’t have to put a warning that says “oh just so you know this is the first time I’ve had sweets in a while” just to make you feel better. Also you can be in shape and have treats once in a while, they’re not mutually exclusive. “She’s skinny so it must be fake” is a stupid attitude to have. I run miles just so I can eat junk when I want. That’s literally my main purpose 😭. In fact I’m going to the gym right now.
Most famous people are slim and beautiful. It’s not BS that’s a specific body type and usually the most beautiful people have it and that’s why it’s special and attractive with success often following. Some people CAN eat a lot and not gain weight it has to do with a genetically influenced high metabolism and a specific build. Not everyone can be that slim and enjoy that lifestyle or have that body type and just because not everyone can doesn’t mean it’s BS
I cannot wrap my head around the fact there are actual people who stalk celebrity chefs because they want to know what celebrities are eating. Every body is diff and reacts differently to diff food and diet. Work around your own lifestyle, food choices, your finances and your medical needs.
In the video of kylie and her friend eating crumbl, they literally nibbled the corner of each cookie once and then put them down. They will buy loads and loads of food and take maybe one bite of each. I once saw alix Earle talking about how much food she bought and ‘ate’ on a night out and literally everything was untouched or had one bite out of it 😂
So that’s what I actually appreciate about your channel. There’s actually a lot of stuff you eat that doesn’t look traditionally tasty, and I appreciate your content because it reminds me that I’m not the only one sacrificing for weight loss. You really mostly eat veggies In a lot of different forms.
It’s called moderation. THAT’S what gets people ANYONE can eat anything they want and not gain weight IF you practice moderation. Not a celebrity thing
They’re also in their twenties, when their metabolism is generally faster. I remember being in my 20’s and eating whatever I wanted and still remaining thin. Once I got into my thirties I had to watch what ate because my metabolism slowed down. Genetics is also key.
as someone who has been “thin” my entire life, i do believe genetics plays a big role in body sizes. I don’t eat extremely healthy every day, i do eat fast food, i don’t restrict my eating, and i never gain any weight. i’m 19 and have been the same size since i was 14, i don’t gain weight no matter what i eat, this isn’t the case for everyone though. I’m sure my metabolism will change after I have kids but i don’t work out often and yet i keep my slim figure. not all skinny people eat super healthy and work out all the time, sometimes we’re just lucky with our genetics.
So everything you just described is me to a T. I actually weighed MORE at 13 than I do now at 25, and I’m 20 weeks pregnant. Idk if this will be true for you as well, but I actually lost weight after having my first baby at 23. I was actually underweight and felt like I looked so thin and frail that I barely recognized myself. I had to start researching how to gain weight and started trying to fit as many calories into my diet as possible. Tbh, it didn’t make a difference and I still couldn’t gain weight until I got pregnant again, and even then it’s been very slow progress. Same thing happened to my mom and aunt after they had kids. My aunt now weighs less than 90lbs and definitely doesn’t have to watch what she eats. Some people in this comment section truly do not understand what it is like or cannot fathom that not everyone wants to be flat and thin. Some of us WANT to be able to gain weight. Curves are beautiful and honestly very much the current beauty standard.
@@abbytownsend7739 my mom is actually allergic to the pregnancy hormone, during her pregnancy’s she would get very sick the day after conceiving and would lose weight during her pregnancy’s. When she was pregnant with me the doctors gave her a medication that’s normally given to cancer patients that caused her to sleep during her entire pregnancy. It’s only a matter of time to see if I have that same allergy. The top half of my body is an XS, but i’m fortunate to have curves on my bottom half, it’s really hard for me to find pants/shorts that fit my small waist and my hips. Even when I was a baby i’ve always had a “bubble butt” that my mom and sisters are jealous of🤭. No one in my family knows where/who my figure came from, but i’ve been the same size since 8th/9th grade.
i also have a theory that a lot the “food” influencers who eat things like crumbl aren’t actually swallowing. u see them taking a bite and chewing, but u never see them swallow, it always cuts to the next bite.
I was just thinking about this. How I’ve had to completely reframe my perception of thin people and their relationship with food. They *are* eating better and healthier than I am. And less, usually!!! I think it’s much easier to see them actually eating what we should eat, rather than wondering why they can eat like sh*t all the time and I can’t. Turns out they can’t either, and don’t. It’s actually helped me make more realistic expectations of myself and get back on track.
guys people have different metabolism and body shapes and skeletal structure please don’t compare yourself or your eating habits to others, you're gorgeous and normal 💕💕💕
I remember the tiktok of Olivia trying her crumbl cookie and she took the tiniiiessst bite of it ever. I found it funny how no one mentioned it in the comments 😅
