This is the first reaction from you that I've watched so I don't know the full context regarding your opinion on Lestat, but I know that some fans of the show are very passionate over the subject of how Lestat I'd perceived by other viewers, so I get why you felt the need to specify why you've responded the way you have so far. I'd just like to note that while the subject of how he is perceived is sometimes called into question because we haven't seen HIM directly, just him through other characters' perspectives, it's interesting to see that Louis's perception of him is definitely colored by his past experiences with Lestat and what he did to him and Claudia. Though I don't say this to disregard how Louis feels, because whatever the reasons are for why Lestat does what he does, it's obviously not an excuse. But it is interesting because you mentioned the narcissistic element from the character which is what Daniel also ends up saying to Louis ("never say I love you to a narcissist"), only for his hallucination of Lestat to later in a hurt tone mention how he /did/ say "I love you" to Louis, but Louis never said it back to him. Hinting at Louis's possible own guilt relating to that (though I don't think this hints at Louis being the narcissist obviously). I'm definitely interested in what you'll think of the next episodes!

Very valid! I love that the readers are passionate about the source material, we wouldn't have such a detailed and beautiful show if it weren't for them ❤️ my opinion on Lestat is we got one singular version/perspective of him in S1 and I'm excited to see more of the different experiences and perspectives the other characters had with him ☺️ the readers got upset because what I paraphrased last ep made them think I didnt realize Lestat wasn't actually there 😅 which it's okay to remind me that but saying "ugh you clearly don't get anything" "you don't understand anything that's happening, this is why you shouldn't react unless you read the books" is ...an overreaction to say the least and pretty condescending 😅 regardless, I really appreciate and enjoyed reading your views on Lestat & Louis and how we have similar thoughts on it all ☺️I definitely felt that guilt from Louis too, he's got a lot of inner conflict about his relationship with Lestat, it's such a complicated situation. But I'm excited to see what the rest of this season has in-store! ❤️

@@KittyKochan I'm sorry you got some over-reactions of that type. I get why some big fans of the show and books may feel frustrated with regular viewers who take in the show at their own pace and don't have the extensive knowledge that the they have, but I don't really think reactions like that are needed in this case at all. And thank you! I'm definitely excited to see the rest of your reactions because the part that I mentioned relating to Louis's past experience coloring his opinion definitely comes into play later on.

Glad you're enjoying the show, and absolutely agree with your opinion that Sam's Lestat is great! While there's always those within fandom that either feel that they're the leading authority on how these characters should be portrayed, received or understood, and get completely ridiculous if you don't appear to agree with their every word, I hope you take them with a pinch of salt, because most of us just enjoy seeing other viewers being 'seduced by the storytelling' without the baggage of prior knowledge or perfect context! So take care, you're doing fine!

you're allowed to not trust Lestat, despite what anyone says. I love him but i think people trying to get reactors to like him by ALWAYS saying "you can't trust louis' memories he's an unreliable narrator!!!" takes away from his experience as lestat's companion for 30 years. It's great to question a lot of things but I think it's also okay to dislike Lestat for a while too.

Just a technical nitpick here. I think you should record in 24fps instead of 60fps. It gives a more theatric vibe that would go well with your image. Give it a try?

I'm not sure if this show will go through the rest of the vampire books. I really hope they do. I would love to see The Tale of the Body Thief on screen.

I think it is a safe bet that they will cover The Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned. They are also pulling bits and pieces from other novels. I suspect it won't continue much past that. The show is certainly a hit with fans of the novels, the LGTBQ+ community and people like myself who aren't threatened by non-hetero relationships. I like to think that it also appeals to anyone who loves top-notch scenery chewing and amazing sets/costumes. I think anyone who has been part of a Rocky Horror shadow cast will appreciate the Paris theater scenes (I know I have). However, it likely isn't going to have the universal appeal something like Peaky Blinders has. Many people are going to be turned off by the homosexuality and DA. I suspect the production budget for Interview is much higher than Mayfair Witches, and likely more than will be going into the Talamasca series I heard about. AMC is known for pumping money into shows long past their expiration date (Waking Dead being the greatest). The latest viewership numbers I've seen for Interview is around 250k. That a fairly small number of viewers. I suspect these numbers will increase through word of mouth, but probably not enough to justify additional books. If we get anything from the other novels, I suspect it will be more bits and pieces placed into other shows like Mayfair and Talamasca.

One of the main characters of TOTBT has already showed up in season 2. It's very likely it could happen.

@@7n154 Yes, the show runners have stated (I think it was in one of the post-episode dives) that they are pulling things from other books. How much they pull is the question. I suspect the origins of Amel are going to be left out for obvious reasons... BTW, DO NOT LOOK UP THE ORIGINS OF AMEL!!!! A little Yoda plagiarism is appropriate here: If into the history of Amel you go, only pain will you find.

You relating to the show on a personal scale elevates this watch I respect it. This show is impressive but unfortunately takes liberties that never existed in the novels that brakes the mold. Though it is still enjoyable on it's own and why not lets have fun. Claudia's replacement doesn't compare. Witcher was destroyed. FallOut was good.
