Quick opinion time Music gets a bit old, but honestly this is true for most mobile games. Honestly it's like a 60 second loop, but it isn't even looped well. It goes quiet for a second and then restarts. I don't know if that's better or worse than it being a perfect loop. So, sound off for me. The game play itself isn't new or even unique in any way that I can see. I've played these games many times before, even back when flash games were "popular". The only thing it has going for it is the Odd1sOut theme, so if that's what you want, that's what you're getting. The ads are as always intrusive af. Random ads will play sometimes, but also the game asks you to watch ads to get certain rewards, or to activate certain buffs. You can pay, 1.99 to cut away ads but I guarantee that it will only cut away the ones that appear randomly. As for the ads to get rewards or activate buffs, those will still exist, and for me, that's an automatic no. Sometimes you can't avoid hitting the sprinkled cake which is what prompts you to get the "watch this ad to get this reward" at the end of a run. Worst part is, even if you say no there's a good chance an ad will play anyway. So, I suppose all in all, paying 1.99 will probably prevent an ad from playing after you say no to watching an ad, but the fact that you would still need to watch ads to get those rewards, or to multiply earnings from a run, or to activate buffs...that's a no from me, automatically. I've played too many games with ads like this where I pay to have no ads, but then you still need to watch ads for in game stuff, and I try to put up with it, but it always burns me out really fast. I don't want to watch ads, alright. If I pay to take away ads, then I expect everything that is tied to ads in the game to convert to something else, like "just click this" or even switching it to the in game currency to pay for whatever the thing happens to be. This wont matter to some people, but there's a pay to win skin you can buy for 9.99 that includes 50k coins and the no ads thing. So, that's a thing. It's not super gratuitous, it's only 9.99 and the fact that it includes the no ads with it sort of makes it a more expensive way to show some support while also turning off random ads. But, again, it won't erase ads from the game, just the ones that pop up semi-randomly. You can also spend money to buy coins, from 1.99 for 21,500 coins to 19.99 for 215k coins, or 1.99 for 525 doughnuts up to 19.99 for 5,400 doughnuts. Honestly, it's disappointing that a "first purchase" on at least the second price tier and up on these doesn't include the no ads purchase, but that's pretty pedantic of me, so null and void. It is what it is, make your own opinions. Ultimately...it's not the most gratuitous game I've played. Ultimately, I suppose the point is that you can play the game just fine without spending, and honestly spending probably just ruins the experience of grinding for things anyway. I mean, if a game is designed for you to grind for things, and you just pay to have the currency to get it asap, what even is the game at that point? But, I can't lie, it's still just not that great. Fans of James will appreciate the art and character unlocks, I suppose, but that's about as far as it goes. The further you get into the game the more "areas" you see which will be full of yet more references and what not. I could see it being a fun way for big fans of James to bounce through memory lane, but eh, I'd rather just rewatch old videos. So, yeah, that's my review after playing it for about 15 minutes, lel. DL it and figure out your own opinion if you want, but this is my take. I don't want to buy any of this stuff, and the game didn't hook me so much that I care to pay to not have ads, but similarly I refuse to sit through ads, so that's an impasse that I know how to avoid, and it's by not playing.
