Hey Luke, last show being the best was in no way related to you being silent, other than your amazing commitment to the bit. It was entirely Linus being unhinged and cussing constantly that made it hilarious.

Really liking the long WAN shows. And I do watch them all in their entirity. The LMGs main product for me is the wan show, and all other content is extra. It kinda flipped that way slowly when my interest in the latest hardware started dwindling.

One new segment you guys may want to consider is the bathroom break. I bet it would be almost as popular with viewers as it would with the hosts.

This show was so long that, I started it shortly after it went live and I removed and replaced my medicine cabinet, cleaned the bathroom and then finished the show on the couch. 10/10. I want 5 hours next Friday!

For "Defend the undefendable" segments, you should use a chess timer with each side getting 3 minutes overall and you click the timer when you've finished a point for the other to counter.

The WAN show has quickly become one of those podcasts I look forward to listening to during my work week. Last week's show was a real gem, and quite honestly I just need more quality podcasts to have to get through the week.

When Linus first brought out the wheel, I was apprehensive at best, expecting 'challenges' that have been so prolific lately. That said, I love the random devil's advocate concept, and very much enjoyed the segment. Luke and Linus did amazing with this.

I honestly love the "Linus corrects misconceptions" video pitch idea. You stated that you might be worried about insulting the audience, but there's no reason it has to be structured that way. If users pose a question or state wrong information, you can recording yourself correcting them in a calm, informative manner. If the attitude is right, there's no room for insults. And for me personally, I would love to see videos like it because they sound very informative as I'm sure I have a thousand misconceptions about tech without even realizing it.

I absolutely love long form content. I hate shorts and will rarely watch a video less than 10 minutes. More than half of videos I watch are over an hour. Thank you WAN Show for being this for me

I appreciate the longer shows. It gives me something to put on in the background while I do stuff without the need to constantly pick up the phone to scroll for the next thing to listen to or to skip ads, and it's not just pointless background noise, I can actually learn about current tech events and occasionally learn life improvement tips as well!

I don't watch every ltt video, but I definitely watch every Wan show. It's long but it's all about things you guys are passionate about, which is usually the most interesting things going on in tech.

I actually appreciate that you got all Clips from the WAN show onto a separate channel. I was able to ask YT to not recommend that channel. I'm one of those who watches every WAN show. I mainly miss it live, but that's okay, I love to watch it on Saturdays with time stamps.

The reason those audio technica headphones got super popular a few years back is because of Marques from MKBHD. He wore them in most videos for years and constantly pushed them as the best bang for the buck "audiophile style" headphones. My biggest issue with the mass layoffs is that CEOs like Pichai, Nadella, Zuck etc. say they "take full responsibility" and then they send an email to lay off thousands...how is this taking responsibility? Did they resign? Do they take a pay cut? Do they suffer any negative effects from the layoffs? Why not? The over-stretching and over-staffing happened on their watch. I think Sundar actually made like $10M based on stocks of Alphabet he owns worth almost $200M

Regarding Stable diffusion: I am a researcher of AI related art tools and have been playing around with AI art generating software for about 8 months now and I would just like to point out that what Linus is reviewing at 52:30 is an Img2img process, not txt2img. The AI cannot provide you with such close resemblence based off of a 70 token prompt. The AIs are trained with hundreds of TB of data and spit out a trained model which consists of 4-7 GB of data. These are just the parameters taken into account by the algorithm based off of its' image recognition workflow. I think these AI tools are absolutely revolutionary and should be developped into something wonderful rather than stripped away in copyright lawsuits. I agree that there is a problem when it comes to having art styles stolen from artists but this is a problem we are facing in today's world as a society and we must deal with it in a way in which we don't restrict ourselves with technological progress. Times change and everyone needs to adapt. Artists included. We live in magical and strange times where ChatGPT helps us with almost anything and AI is just getting started by recreating Art. But this is soon going to move into other fields and I don't think there is anything we can do to stop it. Embrace it. Play with it and be careful with it. Thanks for reading.

I think Luke's microphone volume needs to be increased a bit. He's pretty darn quiet at times, whereas Linus' is at a good volume.

The thing about the screwdriver and people talking carp is that these people do not need the adjustments you made to make it perfectly for your use. I recently decided to buy a similar screwdriver from 'Würth' for 30 bucks, basically the same design. The thing is that I do not need all your adjustments, because I only build 1 or 2 PCs a year. Most of the time I need it for small things around the house. I think most critics/haters think like this, but express it poorly.

Human nature is so ridiculous and often awful, Luke and Linus. The Wan Show vs LMG clips argument is really a great example of differen stuff for different folks. I love the full Wan Show for when I'm traveling and/or have it in the background while doing something. As someone who just upgraded from a 200 Mbit/s connection to a 10 Gbit/s Internet connection, there were only two reasons, and none of them are good: 1. Bragging with the screenshot. 2. I don't know why, but it's actually cheaper. There was basically no impact on day to day usage.

I was recently a tech for Sprint going back about 10 years. EVERY model phone has a A-Z guide on how to disassemble and repair any removable part inside before it launches, complete with full color photos, and all of the tools/jigs/etc are also already available. Mind you, these are "third party" not directly from Samsung/Moto/Apple/Etc but the company that makes all of these tools has contract agreements with the parent companies, so extending that to allow customers to download the .pdf files for repair wouldn't be an issue at all. That being said... the parts that are used, with the exception of Apple (because each internal piece of the iphone/ipad/etc has its own serial number that is actually attached to the MEID/IMEI of the phone itself, so a repair has a final step of attaching the new serial number to the device in Apple's internal systems) are NOT OEM, are third party, but are certified by "Insert Samsufacturer here ;)" to be a direct replacement. That being said... Samsung has no business telling me what device I SHOULD be buying... because even though they're "almost" the same price as a replacement screen ($250 for my Note 10+, for example) vs the Galaxy A53 5G that is $345 (if I use the "Cracked Note 10+ trade-in" to get $105 off) I'd still not have the phone I want, in the color I want, with the specs I want... I'd be going from Aura Glow color to Regular black, 6.8" screen to 6.5", no stylus, 12GB ram to 6GB, 256G ROM to 128GB, lower resolution... I'm not a big user of the camera so that's nothing I'm worried about...

I would suggest for future Wheel of Pain segments to follow a competitive debate structure: one person makes their case for the position, and the other person makes their case against the position. The audience and Dan can then decide who they think made the more convincing argument. Note: A convincing argument does not mean it's the 'right' argument, it only means it was more convincing.

LMG clips is what exposed me to this podcast, I know only watch the full thing but seeing the clips pop up in my feed (which is more likely to happen over than the actual thing) makes me go out of my way to get to the full one, so even in just that regard I think the clips is worth it

Love the wheel concept, but you should put a big red Devil's Advocate sign on screen when defending counter arguments, because taken out of context, the bit where Linus is defending Samsung might be used against his own arguments for right to repair

People don’t want to pay for quality things they would rather buy a 5 dollar toll 100 times before they spend 100 bucks on something that will last and provide convenience and longevity of quality products.

Had my M50-X for years now and love them, audio quality is good, they're durable and the cables provided have not got damaged even with me running my chair over them many times. For £110 they're not exactly cheap but they're a good pick I think

Great show, WAN Show is by far my favourite when it comes to LTT content. I like formats that take time to talk about things, behind the scenes etc. Like most podcast style shows, I just listen to it with 1.5x speed and wouldn t watch it live (time difference would make the basically impossible either way). Always looking forward to my weekly WAN show on Saturday :).

The wheel of pain is an amazing idea. I love it. I want to do something similar with some arguments I have at work. PS, I watch wan show and then find myself rewatching via the clips as well. I can't explain my decisions.

Actual good info on the headphones; The AT-M50x are absolute gems. They are 150 bucks, and good luck trying to find better sounding headphones under 300 bucks. Yes, comfort is an issue, yes the cable is a pain in the ass, but they are good enough for me to have gotten rid of many pairs of way more expensive headphones. Weirdly, studios often use great headphones FOR THE MONEY, and that's the kicker. Sony MDR7506, great for the money, at-m50x, great for the money, Sennheiser hd25, great for the money (and the only Sennheisers I think actually sound good), Beyerdynamic DT150, great for the money, AKG K141 and K240, great for the money. The AT-M50x are highly recommended, and insanely good sounding. If comfort is your first priority, maybe not. If you care about sound in the first place, ignore whatever was said in this WAN show because honestly, Linus knows very little about good sound, or he wouldn't end up with Sonos, Sony and Sennheiser, but the problem is that you don't know good sound until you've been exposed to it for some prolonged period of time.

The Wheel of PAIN is a winner! I like the argument/counter-argument. Suggest a 2-minute summary, a 2-minute defense, a 2-minute counter, another 2-minute response, then Dan decides.

I have to say that wan show has been part of my weekend routine for a while now and I absolutely love it. Thank you guys for keeping it going!

This was an amazing WAN show. You should work out a way for one host to take over for a few minutes while the other has a bio-break. Also, The WAN show is my favorite part of LTT and it keeps me coming back every week. Kudos to all 3 of you, and I can't wait to see what the future brings.

Devil's Advocate needs to be a whole new long-form series. Whatever you're paying the new Wan Show specialist, she needs a raise. Y'all are both low-key debate powerhouses, and it was a heretofore untapped resource. It's really refreshing watching people I already like show off their big brains in novel ways. You could bring on guests sometimes to argue against both hosts, "Fool Us"-style. Maybe even members of your audience, like very temporary unpaid interns! (For the record, I actually think Luke crushed the Twitter round. )

With regards to the screen repair: I used to work for an automotive company where we made exhausts for various motor companies on a mass scale for normal JIT production. Every now and again they would run old/current exhausts on the same production lines to be shipped out to service centres just as an exhaust unit for repairs.

Every other Friday I work a 12 hour night shift. You best believe I listen to WAN show as I do my job, but when Im free on Fridays not so much I need timestamp guy lol.

Asking Google what colors make up RGB and being presented with ads for watercolor paints is like going to home Depot to visualize PVC pipes for an art sculpture and being asked if you have city septic or a septic tank. Generally I don't want to be questioned or distracted in anyway when I'm focused on a project, but when I'm trying to learn about something very specific like venturi effects, it's nice to be given articles on the aerodynamics of airplanes, which can outline the contrasting and similar bits of knowledge.

Yes, I consider that reaction content. I watch a pet RU-vidr that reacts to their sub's habitats and setups (food water storage, litter box, bedding, etc.) for their pets. They generally give their stamp of approval or say what could be done better. Something like this could easily work for tech, namely PC builds.

Speaking of the length of WAN show, I actually usually watch/listen to it in the background when I'm cooking and doing laundry on Sunday afternoon. The 3 hours go by really fast for me, so I love the length of it.

The length of this WAN takes me back to the days of watching PC builds all the time.

To be honest I used Windows Vista quite a bit, and I have a lot of good memories from it, I can't defend a lot of people's criticisms of it, but it still had new features a new look and is what I grew up on.

I love long format WAN show, but I still occasionally watch clips because they're like highlights in sports.

I loved that answer about motivation versus discipline, it was very insightful and gave me a lot to think about
