This whole time I thought this alien entity was just trying to warn everybody about their research. I noticed right in the beginning that it never really attacked anybody it just made everybody scared to the point of wanting to leave. So I expected the ending to reveal that it was a failed first contact, solely because it was trying to warn them about something they researched. When it took its first form as a dead crewmate I thought that had something to do with one of their research projects it was trying to highlight. Well I am disappointed that was not the case, the ending was still cool
