So glad all's well Rich & the hugely deserved recognition is happening! Your videos have slowly infiltrated into my own meagre abilities re groove, ie, where within a feel note placement creates that massive difference. I don't worry about what notes etc (Joe Hubbard is my main man in that area). it's when those notes are placed. I could type for ages re this but feel you know where I'm heading! Best wishes & thanks as always from England! 👍😊

You have yourself to thank as well. You're a good teacher. For real. You've helped me to approach pentatonics in a way I hadn't been able to before. Now I find myself ALWAYS plucking around looking for some nice lines in that scale. And I also recognize it better than I had before when I hear it in a song. That makes me smile. Regarding suggestions, if you could put together something on how we could connect chords (it doesn't have to be just pentatonics, but perhaps pentatonics connecting with a major scale) in a fun way, be it simply to improvise, or to practice and be prepared if playing with others, I think that would be more than a little helpful. Perhaps just show us how to extend a pentatonic scale up the fretboard and then back down for the sake of a nice run in a bass line, or you could do the same thing but emphasizing the transitioning during different parts of the song. Please forgive me if I'm not making much sense. I'm one of your bass masters of the "living room", so my terminology is still in the growing stage. And if you've already done videos like this, then I likely missed them, and I apologize beforehand. Just point me there and I'll go at it. 😊 Btw, please let us know the next time you'll be in Sweden. I would've enjoyed watching you do your thing. Also, Sweden has a wonderful Jazz history, so I think you'd enjoy it. Thanks for your time.

Rich, I am so grateful that you share your take on and around playing bass here. Not only that I find your content extremely helpful, also your attitude and the way you approach and teach topics just really resonates with me. And so does your playing ofc! ...I still remember seeing those three live clips on youtube when you played with Dapp Theory, thinking "wow, who is that bass player?!" - I was hooked from that moment on immediately. What I would really like to see in the future is a breakdown of your amazingly beautiful piece "Ukudlala", and based on this some lession on how you use and expand your thumb+finger technique. All the best from germany!
