I used to have long hair & once I made up my mind to cut it, I proceeded forward. I did let my stylist cut it, but if I hadn't had an appointment, I could see myself doing what you did ...cutting it myself! Your hair looks more vibrant & healthy after your cut. I say, " Way to go!"

I love it! I was laughing so hard at the beginning when you were hemming and hawing and then just went for it. I have done the same exact thing, more than once actually 😂. I never make hair appts in advance and only when I am so disgusted with my hair that even I myself don’t want to touch it any longer! Your hair is thicker than mine, though and maybe a little more forgiving. Your makeup tutorial was fun to watch 😂. You looked absolutely stunning. I cut my own hair with the ponytail method in 2021. I did one where you make a couple of ponytails. One gets pulled over the top of your head so you get face framing pieces. It worked pretty well. My curly hair covered the fact that one of the layers was a little less connected than I wanted. All in all it was a great way to bridge the gap between my former stylist who’d moved during COVID and finding a new one.

I remember when my daughter walked in just as I was cutting hair, I was standing there with a handful of hair and a pair of scissors as she cried “Mom what are you doing?” I went from shoulder length to just above chin length. I love it. And yours looks great

Andie, you’re a hoot! I identify so much with wanting to cut your hair. I’ve awakened so many times, looked in the mirror, and start grabbing the scissors. My daughter did a wolf cut on me a couple months ago, based on a RU-vid video. I was impressed at how well it turned out! Honestly though, you couldn’t be cuter if you tried! You did a great job Andy! During the pandemic I had to cut my hair as well, but it didn't look as good as yours I tell you. I also have very frizzy hair, so I have it professionally straightened, every 4 months or so. The products have come a long way from years ago and I find that it saves me a ton of time. I agree that a bsthroom reno video would be cool. There is nothing wrong with your haircut. It looks good to have variable lengths on the ends. I use the John Frieda hair products and love them. Here's a tip to help prevent the frizzies after blow drying your hair. When your finished drying it; switch to the cool cycle on the dryer and blow it all over your hair and scalp for a few mins. This will "close the pours" of your hair and skin and reduce the frizzing. JF has an anti-frizz that works well. L'Oreal and Clairol have great colours,are easy to use and cost under $20 per box. You're hair looks very thick,so get 2 boxes. In 30 mins you will have zero grey and gorgeous colour equal to a salon visit. Also, keep in mind that there are LOTS of hairstylists in every town/ city. Don't be held hostage by just one. Your hair is all one length( not a layer cut or anything else). You really can't screw it up much as you found out. A few little strands may get missed,but are easily snipped afterwards. The pros do that all of the time....keeps you in the chair longer ($$)

I did this three times with long hair during quarantine years and on the final time I messed up somehow and had to have 3 inches cut off and wait 4 more months to have it perfected - another 3 inches ! Haircuts sooooo expensive in my city but finally caved and have to say - nothing like a great salon cut for framing layers. You did GREAT Andrea - good job! Nice length.

It looks amazing! I recently had ten inches cut off. I have fibromyalgia and getting that much cut off gave me some independence back. I can take care of it by myself now. It’s amazing what a haircut can do.

I've only ever cut my bangs and I usually cut them crooked or too short. Brava, to you for cutting your hair and doing such a great job! I would love to see your bathroom remodel. I've been thinking of doing my own and could use some inspiration.

Edit: LOVE IT! You did a fantastic job. And a bonus makeup tutorial?!! I must be the only woman who has never watched a RU-vid makeup video. I’ve never heard of most of the brands you used but I assure you I’m taking notes. Yes to the bath makeover! Let’s mix it up. I’m just starting to watch and I’m so excited for what is about to unfurl before me! For years I cut my own hair, because it’s long and how bad could I screw it up, right? Now I go to a Goldwell hair design school where they do a great job of cutting (and coloring!) my hair soooo much better than I ever did. Okay, back to the video!🍿

Yes on the remodel. Great job on your hair! I have cut my hair in spots for years. Not saying it’s a good thing but quenches my thirst to make a change. I call it “Susie Scissors”! My stylist often asks me to cease & desist. Susie.
