i bought a 45a new back in 2012 and ive been very disappointed with parts of the tractor, but others are pretty nice. The loader and 4x4 are lifesavers here in the steep hills of SWVA. The power is relatively good as well. The paint and craftsmanship leave a lot to be desired. When it was unloaded of the truck the back chassis paint was chipping off all over the place. Overall its been a good investment, but I wish I would have found a early to mid 90s caseih with a loader and low hours instead of buying new. The 85 series were excellent tractors I thought. NH has let quality slide on lower hp tractors and making them in INDIA with chinese diesels is a fukn joke in itself.

Well I had four tractors on the farm two diesel CASE, One MASSEY FERGUSON diesel and a 1943 FARMALL H with a two row IH mounted picker and they all served me well for thirty years!!! And none were new when I purchased them!!! You must have the Charlie Brown; LINUS SYNDROME!!! And the basis for what I've said is IH CASE brought you a big and better model than what you purchased and YOU turned it down!?!? And a old saying comes to mind??? IT'S CUT YOUR NOSE DESPITE YOUR FACE!!!

The gears feel good and the forward/reverse lever is nowhere near as loose as that thing. Mine also has 2 hydraulic hookups in the back instead of 1. Also have different tires but other than that it looks about identical. Oh and I've got like 276 hours on mine... not a really big difference but still some.

It’s always tough when I think through the investment people make in equipment, and then they are exposed for a long time to the elements. That tractor sure looks like it had a hard life prior to ending up back at the dealership. I often get concerned anytime I leave equipment outdoors, but then have to remember that prior to me buying it, it sat outside for awhile at the dealers. I don’t know though. I try to take care of my equipment, and from all of your videos, so do you. This tractor certainly looks like it didn’t though.

Case really missed the mark on the small tractors when they went to the LS tractor for those Farmall A series i am a red guy to the core too. CNH went to LS for those tractors basically anything under the Maxxum Line they outsourced and went after tractors to sell on Price . I actually had 2 different Farmall 70A tractors and it got to the point the Shop Manager in the Dealer went to Bat for us and we lemoned them and got our money back . Went to Kubota since Our Case Dealer was a full line Kubota Dealer and life is good. Its really tuff to buy a small tractor outside of Kubota, Agco , Deere

Looks like an Indian made tractor. Similar to the "E" series Deere. When I was tractor shopping back in 2010 I could just tell that the quality that the "green" paint or even the "blue" paint is supposed to stand for was NOT in those Indian tractors. It was abvious to me that they were made cheap and just to get them sold.

This isn't 2010 anymore. A 5E (which is what this tractor is trying to compete with) is as nice as say a Kubota M60 series. Not at everything. They both have their areas where one is better or nicer than the other, but they're extremely competitive with one another. When I bought my 2018 5075E I wasn't initially even considering Deere because I thought the $ would be too high. I initially was looking at a MF 2607H and a Kubota M7060. Both seemed like fine machine, but I decided to stop into my local JD dealer and looked at my tractor I ended up buying. I just liked it the best and it's price was only $200 more than the Kubota and about $400 less than the MF. (And I priced both MF and Kubota from 2 separate dealerships) The MF was my favorite to look at as IMO it's a very pretty tractor, but it was just too basic to justify that price compared to the Kubota and Deere. The Deere and Kubota you could tell were very much trying to compete with one another. Things they had that the Massey was missing was both have tilt steering, 12x12 powershuttles, 540/540E PTO, flatter floors and general better ergonomics, better placed controls, their 3PH/FEL are spec'd noticeably better, etc. The Massey did come standard with 2 rear remotes, both CAT1/CAT2 provisions on the 3PH, and no regen or DEF. The MF 4700 series was new at the time, but I wish I had looked at them. They look to give you a lot of bang for the buck. Still my 5075E only regens about once every 100 hours (literally like at every 100.0 hours it will do a 15 minute regen and run fine for the next 100.0 hours to do the next regen) or so, and I even idle it a lot so it's not just self-regenning because I'm always at WOT or anything. Admittedly it wasn't until 2018 when JD stepped up their game on the open station 3 cylinder 5E's ergonomics. They are much improved over the previous years and aren't nearly as cramped. Still even a 2015+ 5E is a quality machine it's just not as nice a place to spend time on. So far my tractor has been excellent. It's got plenty of power and weight, and it hasn't caused me any issues as of yet. CNH dropped the ball with these tractors IMO. Luckily it seems like they took a huge leap forward in 2019 with their newer line of Workmaster/Farmall A models. The tractor in this video is a sub-4000 lb (without loader) machine with a budget trans, poor loader/3PH specs, very basic controls and seating layout, very small AG tires for tractors in the class they try and compete in, a small 2.2L 3 cylinder engine, etc. I grew up on blue and red tractors and I have plenty of love for both brands, but IMO when CNH went (I'll just list the Case IH models, but know I'm talking about the equivalent NH models as well) from the old Farmall 55A/65A/75A models to the 50A/60A/70A models they took a giant step backwards. The older machines weren't really any fancier, but they were a much heavier/bigger/beefier machine with larger tires. Again the 19+ Farmall A models look to have taken a giant leap forward over the 50A/60A/70A models. If I was tractor shopping in 2019 after these were released I would of definitely looked at them, but with what they were selling in 2018 I would of had to stepped up to a Farmall C to even consider a Case IH (or the equivalent NH) but that comes at a higher cost. I think they even still produce the lesser machines like are in this video though. One other thing. We need to start coming up with how we define what's made where. People have these double standards for tractors vs everything else. If it was a car/truck/plane it would be considered American made in Augusta, GA. Since the majority of it's parts are made in India (there are parts on it that say "Made in USA" though such as the computers) people claimed that it's an India tractor that's just assembled here. Is a Boeing 787 made in America or is it made in Japan, Germany, and 5-6 other nations and just assembled here? How about a Mustang, or F150, or Silverado/Sierra, or Ram? Plenty of their components are made overseas, but they ride down a U.S. assembly line. If the majority of Silverado/Sierra parts are manufactured in the U.S. but you happen to have one that was "Made in Mexico" are they really made in Mexico, or are they really an American truck that's "Assembled in Mexico"? See what I'm getting at? In this class of tractor JD is the most American ones out there. I think Mahindra assembles a lot of tractors here as well.
@bearkatljl
@bearkatljl 3 года назад
@@JROC734 I agree it's not 2010 and I think the quality of the 75 and up E Series is better than the 65 and lower (I was specifically looking at the 5065). Also I do not consider the Toyota Tundra and "American" truck because it's put together in Texas. Also the 5065 specifically stated on the data tag "Made in India" nothing else. IDK maybe Deere has moved the manufacturing to GA on those doesn't really matter to me. I went Kubota and haven't regretted it at all. Also I paid about 2K more for my Kubota than what that Indian Deere would have cost. I'm glad your tractor is serving you well and I hope you get many years of service from it. PS I didn't "not" purchase the Deere because it was INdian made, I didn't purchase the Deere because it was "cheap" and at that time at least it was clear they were trying to do something to eleviate the reputation of "paying for that green paint". All that learning the Deere was in fact Indian made did was enable me to go look at other brands. Although I never really considered a Mahindra.
@JROC734
@JROC734 3 года назад
@@bearkatljl IDK what kind of Kubota you bought, but their 5E competitors at the time should of cost more because they were nicer machines. I think Kubota forced JD's hand to step up there game on the 5E's features, and niceities. Now 5E's has things like clutch and brake boosters, nearly flat/covered floor, way more space for the operator, much larger seat, fender mounted controls, nice looking rounded fenders instead of those ugly global styled squared units, electric PTO engagement, etc. Many of these things if I'm not mistaken were features of/on your older M40 series Kubotas (the models before the current M60 series I believe) that I'm pretty sure weren't on the pre-2015 and even moreso the pre-2018, open station, 3 cylinder JD 5E tractors. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong) The 5045E-5075E are largely the same machines other than power ratings and maybe tire sizes. Your 5085E and 5100E are different and are 4 cylinder machines. Comparing a 5065E to a 5075E is like comparing a M6060 to a M7060. I agree that even though Tundra is manufactured in Texas and may have been designed by Americans employed by Toyota, it's still not an American truck like Ford/GM/Ram are. Good or bad it still very much has a Toyota feel to it, and I don't care what they try and do Toyota isn't an American company no more than Boeing is a Japanese company. If you want to buy a Tundra or Titan then okay, I don't really care either way, but don't pretend like Toyota and Nissan are more American than the big 3.
@bearkatljl
@bearkatljl 3 года назад
@@JROC734 no sir you are incorrect the “E” series JD in 2010 was not nicer than M6040 that I bought here’s a list of things the Kubota had that the Deere did not: tilt steering, flat operators station, shuttle shift (hydraulic as an option) more operator friendly ergonomics overall and this one I’m 100% certain but I think the JD was three cylinder vs four
